Chapter 7 Why so harsh

Well that was almost entirely true she felt her eyes twitch. If she knew it was such an important picture she wouldn't have touched it no matter how many guts she ate.

When she lifted her head up Hayden (Young master ) was shocked he had been prepared to murder the culprit but seeing her innocent face he couldn't bring himself to do it. She probably didn't know what it meant to him. Hayden tried convincing his self but he knew he had also hurt people who were ignorant and innocent for the same reason

What was wrong with him he was not normally moved by expressions was she a witch.

"Forget about it but this should not repeat it self ever again"

"Yes young master" Lola said in a daze. She was sure this man hated her totally. She expected him to throw her out.

What just happened everyone in the dining hall were shocked out of their mind even the maids who were outside the dining hall trying to see how bad the young master would treat her when he got angry. Everyone secretly had made bets on how long she would last.

No one said anything or moved for a long time not until The young master spoke

"Are you going to stand there all day or serve the food" Hayden said annoyed

"I'm sorry young master " Lola said before swinging into action

Every one was relieved except from Catherine one of the maids it was known by everyone including Omar that she had a huge crush On Omar but He never payed her any attention but with Lola he was different he always smiled at everything she did no matter how annoying. Besides she saw them hugging just today. She had hoped that the Young master would fire her in a fit of rage so that she wouldn't be around who knew he would forgive her.

When the young master finished his meal and headed to his room Lola finally leaned against the wall Thanking the heavens for sparing her. She thought working here was easy but since the young master returned she could barely breathe peacefully

Lola went back to her room and took her bath preparing to rest and call Andrey it was already 7pm she had tried her best to avoid getting the young master angry.

She had just layed on the bed when the device the house keeper showed her in her room rang. She heard the young master voice as he ordered her to make him coffee and send to his room he has such a wonderful voice Lola thought she was only drawn back to reality when he asked if she was heard him.

"Yes young master " She replied quickly.

Lola immediately went to the kitchen and made him a cup of coffee. As she reached the door of the study she tried to calm her nerves before knocking on the door.

********She heard a very vague voice saying

"Come in" if she had not listened attentively she would have missed it.

She silently pushed the door open while holding the cup and plate in one hand. She had just stepped in when she heard him shout in anger.

" What do you mean he wants an increase in price tell him it is not negotiable" Hayden said slamming his fist on the table

The cup and plate in Lola's hand fell to the ground due to the shock. She hadn't expected that.

Hayden hung up the call. He cast a glance at the person who caused the ruckus and decided to vent his anger on her.

"How can you be so clumsy are you dumb, stupid or both can't you use your sense when you're doing things can you not be so foolish or are you a clown. Who the fuck even hired you?" he shouted at Lola.

"I'm sorry young master" Lola said with her head bowed down. She didn't know what else to say. Hayden continued to shout and pour out profanities at her.

She immediately stooped down to clear the broken pieces of ceramics being careful not to cut herself. she deemed herself lucky that the coffee had spilled on the tiles and not the rug.

When she stepped out of the door to see Daniel standing there with a waste bin Lola closed the door behind her and put the broken pieces of ceramics in the waste bin while he handed her a mop.

She gave him a thumbs up then opened the door and entered when she entered she saw the young master going through some books on the shelf she quickly cleaned the coffee on the floor and turned around to leave when she heard

"Make another cup of coffee with no milk "

"Yes young master" she said and left while closing the door behind her she saw Daniel still in the same spot.

"Would you like me to make coffee milk or hot chocolate for you" Lola asked trying to hide the hurt in her voice but her eyes gave her out. She didn't understand what the young master had against her.

" Well I would like the hot chocolate" Daniel replied

" Same as I" Lola said feigning eagerness

They both went to the kitchen she made the coffee and hot chocolate and waited for them to be ready

" I don't mean to be inquisitive but please can you tell me why the young master so particular about that picture who is the lady in it" Lola asked

"Well you need to know anyway she was a young Masters first love. She died 3 years ago they grew up together from childhood they were to get married but she died in her house when it caught fire and she was trapped inside. The young master still blames himself for being unable to save her when she needed him the most. Her name is Cassandra to say the truth she was very nice and I don't know how she ended up dead we were all looking forward to their marriage. Prior to all this the young master was more warm to people" Lola doubted he was ever warm to any one

"That picture was the only one the young master heard of both of them together. Inside the frame is the last letter She Wrote to him when he was in the military you should know why he holds that picture in high-value now" Daniel narrated patiently

Lola could not imagine losing someone she loved the sound of the coffee machine brought her back to reality. She hastily wiped her tears then she carried the coffee to the young master study and knocked .

" Come in" she took the coffee and dropped it on the desk.

Hayden raised his head the same time as her Lola immediately lowered her head but not before Hayden saw her teary eyes he thought she was crying because of his harshness towards her and he felt bad suddenly for transferring his aggression to her

" I heard you applied for a loan" the young master said Lola

" Yes young master" she said with her head lowered. Was he going to reject it she thought.

"May I ask the reason you want the loan for" Hayden asked

" For my mother's surgery young master" Lola replied though she hesitated

" Tomorrow you are to follow Daniel to the office to sign the agreement you receive the money in less than two days time" Hayden said he was trying to make her forget his attitude just now

" Thank you young master" Lola said as she turned around she raised her hand to wipe her tears She hadn't cleaned well before coming to the study

Hayden who thought she was still sad at his words could no longer bear it.

"I'm.. . . I'm.. sorry for all the harsh things I said earlier" Hayden took a deep breath after saying that he rarely ever had to apologise to anyone

Lola who was about so wipe her tears stop she stood in the spot as if struck by lightning did she just here wrongly he just apologized to her.

"You can go" Hayden said not giving her the chance to say anything.
