Chapter 5 Episode 5

CHAPTER FIVE

Nadir rushed over to her room and just when she closed the door, she nearly yelped in shock, seeing the figure before her.

"Oh! Sorry mate, I didn't mean to scare you." Xyla indicated, causing her to hold on to her chest. How come her wolf didn't even alert her of his presence and how come she hadn't smelt him was a mystery.

"If I remember vividly, I locked this room" She said, pointing towards the door.

"I know, but your window was open and so I jumped in" Xyla said, also pointing towards the open window.

She rushed over to her wardrobe, removing her entire apparel and trying to get something more suiting for the meeting, when she felt strong arms wrap around her almost bare body.

"You are just marvellous" His deep husky voice once again sent spark into her body.

"I would have love to stay and have fun, but the council awaits me"

"Really? You have councils here?" Xyla asked, removing his arms from her.

"Yes, my father was a damn disciplined man, he made sure that things were done accordingly and i must say that they were indeed done accordingly" She dressed herself into a very fine long white gown.

She finished ouo and turned around to show herself to Xyla, saying

"How do I look?" She posed for him and Xyla kissed her in the forehead, replying;

"You look exquisitely beautiful" She felt her cheeks turning into shades of pink but she ignored this and rushed out of the room.

When Nadir arrived at the Council, everyone including the Pack soldiers all stood up to their feet and paid homage to her, as it was the tradition of the pack.

"Once again, we are saddened by the demise of our previous Alpha, but regardless, we need to understand that the moon goddess has a reason for calling all of us back to her and fkr whatever purpose it was, we just hope they both find peace" Beta Jason stated and then turned back to the Council, saying;

"Seated right here is our new Alpha and as the tradition has always been the driving force of our people, it is pertinent that we give her the symbol of respect that she so needs" Everyone nodded their heads in unison.

Beta Jason, turned to Nadir and gave her a go ahead to address the council as he walked back to take his own seat.

"Today is a great day for me and I must commend you all for how loyal you have been to my father. I must assure you that even though he is gone, like Beta Jason said, his image still dwells within me" She said, smiling at Jason, who nodded his head in agreement.

"Without further adduce, let me go straight to the issues on the table that needs to be addressed" She said, adjusting her seat."

Now I know you all are already thinking of whether or not I have gotten a mate" There was loud murmuring as she made that comment but none tried to speak.

"Well, it think it is time I break the news to everyone one of you.... I have gotten my mate amd this happened the day my father died" There was a loud applause as everyone cheered with joy.

"Now unto the next line of action, I will now send the guard to go get him and he will Introduce himself" She signaled the guards and one of them indeed left to go get him.

When Xyla arrived at the Council, all eyes were on him and Nadir couldn't help but see the weird reaction they all had on their face.

This was the same reaction that her mother had given, the moment she found out about him.

"Meet Xyla, my beloved mate" There was still another round of murmuring, causing Nadir to groan in frustration.

"Why are you all having this look on your faces?" She asked out of the blue.

"Alpha" The Gamma stood up and greeted, before continuing with his speech. "I believe that there is something about him that seems off, no offence to you Xyla, but you have a very dark energy."

"I don't know what it is you are talking about, and i certainly don't possess that thing you are talking about" Xyla replied them immediately, not liking the statement that was being pronounced on him.

"Where are you from?" Beta Jason asked. Xyla on the other hand turned and looked at Nadir, who was also curious to know.

She didn't know how she hadn't asked this question ever since they met and now that it was asked, she needed an answer too.

"I am from Riverine Pack, a very distant pack away from the northern region. I left my pack not as a rogue, but in search of a greener pasture and even my Alpha was aware of this" Xyla explained and just when Beta Jason was about to make another comment, Nadir intercepted.

"Enough of all this questions!" The atmosphere went dead silence as she had used the Alpha tone on all of them.

"I will not have any of you toil with my mate again. He has answered your question and i believe an attempt to further prying into his life is tantamount to offending me."

It wasn't Nadir that was speaking this time, her wolf had taken over as she didn't like the fact that they were talking to her mate in such manner.

"Apologies Alpha, we didn't mean to be rude" Beta Jason stood up and indicated, causing Nadir to cool off a bit.

"Now that you all know him, he would serve as a supporter to my administration" She finished off by urging Xyla to come take his seat by the table.

"Now that is settled, let's talk about another trivial matter that I wish you all to know..." she cleared her throat, so she could be audible this time.

"I want to talk about the investigation into the death of my beloved father" Nadir wasn't going to allow sleeping dogs lie, she was willing to make sure that the culprit was brought to book.
