CHAPTER FOUR

When Xyla and Nadir arrived back to the pack, the latter noticed something unusual happening in the mansion. Apparently, most of the pack members had gathered around and from what the duo saw, they were in mourning.

Nadir left the side of Xyla and rushed all the way into the pack, the members making way for her as she passed through them.

Her eyes fell on Beta Jason and from the look he had on his face, whatever had happened didn't seem nice in anyway possible.

She noticed the pack doctor coming down from the stairs and she was hoping it wasn't what her intuition was telling her.

"I tried my best Alpha, she was just too traumatized and there is nothing we could do for her" He revealed, causing Nadir to swiftly run up the stairs, almost knocking down the pack doctor in the process.

The moment she stepped into her mother's room, she gasped seeing the lifeless body of her beloved mother, being covered with white clothing.

She rushed over to her side and removed the white clothing, refusing to believe that Adriana was dead.

"No mother please, not now, not you, how can you leave me alone" Tears were flowing uncontrollably from her eyes as she held her mother's lifeless body to her chest, she couldn't believe it.

Nadir was hoping that everything that she was seeing was an actual dream, but there was no such thing as dream in this situation.

"Please mother, how can I rule this pack without you nor dad? I am literally clueless. Please mom wake up."

"Uhmm.. Alpha? I am sorry but there is nothing that can be done." She turned around to see Beta Jason standing right before her, his hands behind his back.

"How did this happen?" She demanded to know.

"The Omega had gone to her room this morning, in a bid to clean up the entire place, when she suddenly screamed, causing me to be alarmed to the situation. I ran out of my room over to her chambers to see the Omega on her knees crying and when i looked at the bed, my worst nightmare were true, Luna Adriana is gone."

At first, Nadir tried to reason that she had been murdered but there was no corroboration as to the assumption she had.

However, the moment she remembered that the pack doctor had announced her passing, she fell down to her knees once again crying.

Suddenly the door burst open, with Xyla coming over to her side, in a bid to console his dear mate.

"It's okay Nadir, I believe everything would be okay, just stay calm" His words sooth her soul as she tried not to seem broken before him.

Nadir was aware of the fact that she was going to be Alpha soon and even though the demise of her parents will continue to harm her, she was glad that she could atleast have a mate to support her.

"Not to intrude Alpha, but who is this?" Jason asked, staring intently into Xyla.

"I am her mate, my name is Xyla" The moment Jason heard that, his eyes widened in surprise and they morphed into one of gladness.

"Alpha, the people are aware of the demise of the Luna, I await your instruction as my new Alpha" Beta Jason indicated, bowing down to his feet.

"We will bury my father and my mother today as I don't wish to see their corpse any longer, else it would make me go insane" She indicated, ruffling her hair in the process.

"Consider it done Alpha" Jason indicated, bowing down once more before leaving.

The following day, after the burial rites of Alpha Damien and his wife, Nadir was standing inside the chambers, going through some of the collection of both her mother and father.

Alpha Damien had handed over his sword to her and gave her a simple instruction to keep it sacred as it was what distinguish warriors from feeble minded were wolves.

She turned to look at the fabric of cloth her mother had always cherished anything she brought it out to be worn.

Her mother was a materialistic woman, her fashion sense influenced the pack greatly as everyone would definitely wish to know what the newest fashion style was from their beloved Luna.

Suddenly she heard a knock at the door and she turned around to answer the call. Jason stepped into the room and bowed accordingly, this was one gesture Nadir found uncomfortable.

"You don't need to bow before me, I am only but the daughter of the Alpha you once served with your entire life."

"All I can see is his image standing before me Alpha, and for as long as I live, my household and I would continue to serve you to the fullest of our abilities" Beta Jason finished off.

"So what brings you here?" She asked, dropping the sword she had in her hand back to it's rightful place.

"As it is a custom in the pack, once a new Alpha has been installed, he or she ought to have their first meeting with the council" Nadir was aware of how her father had strictly formed an organized administration.

The administration consisted of the Alpha being the head of the table, the Luna serving as the supervisory role, the Beta also in that role and others like the Gamma, Delta and Zeta.

Alpha Damien was still the only Alpha with a well structured administration and Nadir loved him for that.

"So are they waiting for me?" She asked.

"Yes...Alpha."

"Alright, I will be there in five minutes, I will need to change into something more elegant than this" Nadir indicated, showing off her clothing which were perhaps old fashioned.

"You took the image of your father and the heart of your mother, I believe you will make a great leader." Beta Jason commented and Nadir mouthed a thank you in regards to the compliment he had made.
