Chapter 4 School Pyramid

Two classes, four agonizing hours later the lunch bell finally rang and she let out a very breathy and deep sigh of relief, saying a silent prayer of thanks to whoever listened. School, the bare concept of it repulsed her. Having to attend and institution that forced children of varying and very different levels of understanding and talents to learn the same thing and take the same tests that were based on if you were lucky enough to understand the topic in the first place.

If it was up to her she would have never attended School; if she didn't need a degree to have a job and leave a reasonable life that is. Now she had just accepted entire bull and cock of it all, juggling through school with Bs and Cs; she was content. The only part of school she loved was lunch break –obviously- and music class.

Walking into the large cafeteria she was greeted with the sight of hormonal teenagers scampering around for less than subpar meals thanks to the schools low food budget. The wise ones bought their own meals. Her eyes moved round the table arrangements immediately. At Gregory high there was the simple and very cliché hierarchy that though everyone pretended it wasn't actually there followed and respected with a terrifying diligence, and at the cafeteria that very same hierarchy was in play with the sitting arrangement.

At the top of pyramid were the obvious school football stars consisting of Jason bell, the captain and heart throb of 88% of the female population her obviously excluded. Along with Jason were his teammates. Now not all of them were sexy, in fact after Jason no one else in the team was really that cute except two or three more guys, still there were classified as the most wanted and dateable group, for reason revolving around the fact that they played really well, had fucking sexy charisma and had ripped bodies, and they took a lot of pride in that.

Next in the hierarchy were the cheerleaders aka the Barbie Bitches lead by Leslie storm. There was no one else Gianna hated with every fiber of her being than the head bitch of a group of snobbish wannabe plastic girls that had no business being anything with the word 'cheer' in it. Then there were the kids in other sports, the rich kids that just threw parties , the plain Jane's that had nothing particularly exciting about them and were classified as simple the fillers, her group to be specific.

Nothing in particular stood out about then, they were like the background characters that just made up the student numbers. Groaning she moved to her usual sit just by the trash can placing her lunch bag on the table. Now, she didn't care about the system, never followed it.

She could sit anywhere she fucking wanted, the only problem though was she wasn't in the mood to face their judgmental stares. Soon after she had sat down, Becky showed up sitting next to her with her own lunch bag.

"Hey."

She sat down oblivious to the stares of numerous guys around, probably taking in enough of her looks for fap material later on. After the simple greeting she was pulling out some salad and bottle water and then happily taking a bite out of it. Gianna had to look away forcing herself not to gag. She had only ever known goats to eat grass.

"Eww."

"Don't shame those of us that want to eat healthy"

"I think the word you're looking for is starving. You're not eating healthy, your starving"

"I have to maintain a strict diet, not all of us can scarf down a bunch of double patty burgers every day and still maintain a size 4"

"It's not my fault I have a fast metabolism"

"Whatever." Becky rolled her putting her focus back on her very green looking salad and taking a fork full of it, munching on it happily. There was no way it tasted that good, Gianna thought.

"Look, you're hot as hell, you don't need to go on series of weird diets and starve yourself to look good. Even if you were 10 sizes up half of the football team would still want to bang you."

"Thanks for the compliment babe, but I don't want to go up a size and start restyling my closet again." She resumed eating her vegetation with a satisfied look. Gianna hadn't been lying though.

Becky Waters was pretty, so pretty she wondered most times why she had gone so far down the chain and decided to be her best friend. She didn't belong with a plain Jane like her, she belonged with the Barbie bitches with all that popularity and bling, except she wasn't a bitch and she had had this eternal beef with Leslie since they were toddlers.

A silent war ensued between and they fought over everything from who dressed better or looked better or had the best boyfriend and Becky should have already won said war ages ago, but the truth which everyone knew but Becky had refused to accept was that she was holding her back.

Probably if she was out of the picture her bff would have been head cheerleader and not Leslie. She had thoughts like that but she held them to herself most times not wanting to bother anyone with them. They were her baggage.
