CHAPTER SIX

KEVIN'S POV

I reach out for the glass of water so that I can erase this saltiness on my tongue. It's so much that it is making my tongue burn so much. How come Camila prepared something as bad as this? I can vouch for her as a very good cook, because during our days at High School, we'd always spend the weekend's at hers alongside other friends, and she'd always dish is something to eat. How come this ...

I look at my naughty kids and they are suppressing their laughter. I know it's the angry look on my face that is stopping them from laughing out loud. I hear Camila let out a pained sigh as she rushes to pile the plates on top of each other. She did this so hurriedly that she spills some of the pasta on the table and I can see that she was really sad.

"I'm sorry." She apologizes to us. "I had no idea what happened, I am just going to make something else."

"Camila," I try to stop her, but she dumps the plates in the sink and begin to scrap out the food into the bin.

I walk to her and holds her hands still, she struggles with me and I beg her to stop.

"I'm sorry, Kevin. I will make something less awful." She looks down.

"That's okay, please come sit down."

I help her wash her hands and leads her back to the table. She looks at me and laughed out loud "I admit that kids are a little bit tricky for me . But isn't that why you asked me to me ? Now I'm prepared. " I look at the kids and immediately, I knew exactly what happened. I am not going to deal with this now because I know how Camila is going to end up defending the little brats.

"I have to go to the bathroom." Camila pushes her chair back and stands to her feet to leave.

As soon as she does, Jack lets out a little laugh and it takes all of the self control inside of me to hold myself back from smacking him right away.

"I know you two did it." I accuse both of them. "You can't tell me otherwise because I know what you are capable of doing."

Kitana keeps up with her innocent look and I immediately know that her brother was the one who had directed her to do what she did. My little angel isn't evil, and I know her brother must have been the brain behind this.

"Jack, you know you are not going to get away with this." I tell him with every ounce of seriousness I could muster.

He doesn't look surprised. His face says he did it and he wants me to know that he knows I know.

"What's the matter with you, Jack?" I ask. "Camila only wants to make you two like her. No private teacher does the kind of things you two did today, and how did you appreciate her? Salting the pasta?"

"And why do you think that I did it?" Jack folds his hands. "Don't you think that she sprinkled too much salt into the food? Why does it have to be Jack?"

"Because I am your father and i know exactly what you can do." I raise my voice a bit. Sometimes, they forget that I am a grown man and that I can tell when they lie to me.

"Let me tell you what happened," I leaned against the chair and point at both of them. "Kitana faked an attack to distract everyone and you, Jack, added salt to the food to make it look like she is a bad cook. Isn't that it?"

Jack smiles. He knows that he has been caught.

Mrs ".Then what, it just a little gift for her." He shrugs. "She would have made a fool out of herself."

"Shut up, boy!" I point a finger at him. When did he turn out to be so naughty?

"She is not going to be my Mom." Kitana says and I felt my heart bleeding. Is this what they have been assuming all along?

"My goodness, Kitana. Do not tell me Jack told you what's in your mind now, my angel. Camila is only here to help you-"
