Chapter 5 Real Couple

Eunice's POV

I'm not sure what possessed Xavier to ask me to be his contract wife. All of the agreements were in my favor, and I wondered whether he really needed a wife. He claimed that his father had been pressing him to marry. He promised me that if I became pregnant, he would never end our relationship or divorce me. Everything seemed to be working in my favor, and it was almost too wonderful to be true.

My three-year romance with Calix had left me with a damaged heart. Is it too hasty of me to make a decision and agree with him? My thoughts were interrupted as my gaze met Xavier's, who was staring at me closely. When he beats me to it, I want to ask him whether we're actually going to be married.

"Are you afraid of being alone with me?" he said, his countenance solemn. I wasn't afraid of him, which caused me to overthink things. He was notorious for being domineering, and the way he was treating me was just that. I suppose it was because of his business that he appeared menacing, especially during our previous presentation.

"Earth to Eunice." He woke me up from my deep thoughts. "Augh, what is it again?" I asked. "I said, are you scared of being alone with me?" he repeated his questions, now with annoyance on his face.

"No, why would I? You never showed me anything to be scared of." I defended myself.

"That's good then. Now give me your house and car keys." He demanded.

"Why?"

He explained: "I will ask someone to get your car in Lloyds's Building basement parking and get the movers to collect your things from your house and transfer them here."

"I will get my things myself."

"No," he responded firmly, "you stay here and relax while I take care of those things." "One more thing, concerning our sharing this room. Let me be clear: we are a married couple who share the same house, room, and bed, as well as the same riches. Whatever is mine is also yours, and whatever was yours, well, I'll leave it to you. and that's final. " He continued as he was ready to leave our room, but I stopped him.

"Wait, are we going to do, uhm, you know..." I can't say what was wrong with me. This is important.

"In time, Eunice, I won't be able to say I didn't want to because I did." I want to have a kid with my wife, not some random lady. You're my wife, by the way. Isn't it perfect that I have a kid with you? Don't worry, I'm not going to hurry you. We'll have enough when you're ready. " I was stunned, my mouth practically wide because of everything he said, which made me understand that there was a chance, a large chance, of us being together for real. I was still staring at him, unable to say anything, when he approached me, covered my lips with his palm, and said,

He replied seductively, "You close that mouth of yours or my tongue will surely plunge in there." "Relax, I won't push you to do anything you don't want to do; instead, I'll make sure you love it to the core, since, as you know, we're a true married couple." He kissed my lips lightly and exited our room.

I was left in our room. My knees got weak and I decided to sit on the bed. I was still feeling unreal. I decided to lie down and take a nap.

I don't know what time it was already when I heard Xavier calling me and tapping my face lightly. I opened my eyes and saw him sitting beside me.

"How long have I been sleeping? I am sorry I can't help myself to sleep. " I apologized sincerely.

"Please accept my apologies. That must be due to the medicine you took before we left the hospital, which Dr. Lindsay advised you to take so you could get a full sleep hour. It was already 4 p.m., and I brought you lunch earlier, but you were sleeping like a child, so I did not bother to wake you up, but you need to eat now."

"OK, thank you for waking me up, so are we going down stairs?"

"No, I will bring your food here." Get up now and eat first. You freshen up later. "

"Oh, I look awful now. I must have been a mess now."

Xavier remarked, "You look great, just eat." I wanted to be enthralled by his eloquence, but his expressions contradicted every beautiful word he said. He seemed to be saying it merely for the pleasure of saying it.

"No need for flattery; I know what I look like when I just came from my sleep. Don't you think I don't have a mirror in my house? "

"Doesn't every woman like to be told she's pretty?"

"I am not any woman." I said and he took the spoon in his hand and I ate quietly. He was eating also, and I was happy that he decided to eat with me.

"Do you like it? Dr. Lindsay said that the food may be too bland for you, so you will just have to deal with it for now. Your health is more important. "

"You are eating the same food I am eating. Then yours was bland too." I asked him when I noticed that we were eating the same food.

At least this is healthy. I will eat regular food when you can eat it too. For now, this will do for us. "

How can he be so relaxed? Right now, I can't even swallow the food in my mouth. It was wonderful. I can't believe he could say something like that. When he says such things, I don't think it matters what his face says. There's nothing more I could want for than for him to grin at me.
