Chapter 4 Good moments

Liam canceled his appointment for the day, hence, he was free, the conversation he had initiated with Jenny was a long one, he invited her for lunch, they were having lunch at a nearby restaurant, on their arrival, they sat beside the window, they passed their command, Liam ordered for just a soft drink, whereas Jenny was going in for rice and chicken and ordered alcohol while waiting to be served they continued their conversation, they talked for some minutes, later a cute and beautiful girl just walked in the restaurant, she was looking smart, well dressed as she wore a long white straight g

own with a black pair of low sandals, she was holding a dark brown purse, her hair was well tied, she wasn't sitting far from Liam and Jenny, her beauty was very frightful as Jenny had to turn her head to check on her admiring her beauty. Their command arrived, Jenny was eating while Liam was just having his drink, even as she was eating she couldn't stop looking at the beautiful lady, she was afraid as there was someone beautiful than her in the hall, her boyfriend might abandon her and go for the next person. She was eating as fast as she could to get her boyfriend and herself out of there. As soon as she finished eating, she told Liam she was feeling like going home, Liam wasn't understanding why she suddenly wanted to get home because she just finished eating, he proposed they remain sitting for 10 minutes, so the food might digest, but she refused, insisted she wanted to go home, she started behaving like someone was after her. Liam paid the bill and they were out of the restaurant, straight Liam drove her home, on their way, Jenny's phone rang it was Mrs. Britney "Hello daughter are you still Liam?" Britney asked, "Yes mum but we are already on our way." Jenny replied while throwing a smile at Liam. After the call, Liam asked Jenny if her mum was angry for her staying outside by that hour since it was already late, Jenny smiled at him and said no, her mother wasn't angry she insisted on asking if she was with him. In a few minutes, they arrived at Jenny's house, Liam was thinking of just dropping Jenny and continuing but Jenny insisted he enter their house to greet her parents. The idea wasn't bad, as Liam said, he followed Jenny and together they entered the house, Liam was sitting in the living room, while Jenny rushed to go get her parents, arriving at her parent's room it was blocked and she taught maybe they were out when she tried getting information from the chief maid if her parents were out, by this time her mother heard her voice and rushed to open the door, Jenny embraced her mother while smiling and her mother knew her daughter only smiled in such manner when she was from seeing Liam, Jenny then told her mum Liam was down, her mum then informed her dad about Liam arrival, by this time Mrs. Britney and Jenny went down to meet Liam. Once Liam saw Mrs. Britney from afar, he stood up to greet her, Mrs. Britney asked him to have his sit back, as he was about taking his sit, Mr. Felix was approaching towards him, he greeted him and took his seat, there were now discussing family issues, by this time, Mrs. Britney sent for the chief maid and ordered the dining table be set, Liam who taught he was just going to greet her parents and continued his way found himself staying for dinner, he had no choice other than accepting, he wasn't willing to engage himself in another conflict with his parents. They were patiently waiting for dinner to be served while discussing matters concerning Liam and Jenny's marriage, Jenny was lively regarding this conversation while Liam was just there. In the other part of the country, we had Mei Chao and Selma, they just felt selling and were ready to get home, Mei Chao was poor, and to survive she was selling at a bar, on days when Selma wasn't in school she was helping to her supposed mother, Selma Chao as she was called never knew she was the daughter of a multi-billionaire, she was living in abstract poverty, most of the time, she was driven from school because of the huge school fees, she was equally studying medicine, earlier in the morning she was driven from school so she went and met her mother, her mother was feeling bad, as Selma kneeled on the floor and asked why they were poor, she asked if it was a crime to be poor, she was tired of been driven every day for school fees, the students and equally the administrators always referred to her as a debtor, as her name was always included every time students were to be driven for school fees. Her mum promised to do her possible best for her, Selma got up wiped her tears, and started packing things inside, back home the yam in the pot had slept, they had been eating this famous yam for two days, Selma was no longer bothered as she was already used to eating food for more than two days, what she did was just warm the yam served her mum and herself after they had eaten and taken some rest, they went to bed. Liam was still with the Ayanne's but he was already done, he was on his way going, Mr. Felix and Mrs. Britney sent their salutations to his parents through him, Jenny accompanied him to the gate till he drove out, came back into the house she went directly to her room took her shower and went to bed. Liam was still on his way home, once he arrived home, his mum was seated on one of the chairs waiting for him, just as he entered he heard someone calling his name as he raised his head to find out who the person was, he discovered it was his mother, Mrs. Zheng, she asked why he came back late and he said he was dining with the Ayanne's. Immediately he said that his mum smiled. The next morning, Liam was up he took his bath, dressed up and went down for breakfast before going out for work, on arriving the table, his parents were already eating even Etanne was present and equally already eating, he asked himself if he was late for work because usually, he used to be the first before they all follow him, but he checked his time and discovered he wasn't late, he comfortably took a sit, had breakfast and left for the hospital, when he arrived his assistant was present and was just handling the work shit for the day. It wasn't long, the Ayanne's van landed, Mrs. Britney and Jenny stepped out of the van and went towards the staff, they were having a meeting, she was about to inform them that Jenny was gonna work in the hospital as a cardiologist and as the daughter to the owners of the hospital she needed maximum respect from the staff, after the meeting they all dispersed themselves everyone went to their area of work and Jenny was been taken to her new office, she installed herself, admiring her office as it was decorated with one of her favorite colors. Mei Chao had succeeded in getting some money so Selma could pay her fees, she was very happy as she wouldn't miss school, Selma was very bright at school, she was the best student in her class and was that kind of student who didn't love been absent, she believed after her studies she was going to get a good job which going to get her out of poverty, including her mother. She paid her school fees went to class and was copying her notes, her best friend Jiang was happy to see her back. Back at the hospital, Liam was consulting his patients after consultation, he got a little bit bored at his office, he took some minutes to go hang out around the reception, for some minutes he was seated there and a girl entered the hospital, she was discussing with the receptionist, she needed to be consulted since as Liam wasn't yet in his office, the receptionist delayed a little bit. Jenny was on her going out to go have something to eat, on her way out she met the girl at the reception, for five minutes, she couldn't stop staring at the girl, she was like she knows this girl somewhere but couldn't identify where exactly, she was lost in her taught trying to identify who this girl was "oh yes she's the lady at the restaurant" Jenny murmured to herself, At the restaurant, Jenny was jealous as the girl was shamelessly looking at Liam even thou she knew he was with someone else, Jenny was wondering what this lady was calling for now in the hospital, she changed her mind of going out to eat and stayed focus to see the results. When the receptionist informed Liam the good-looking lady was to be consulted by him, things because worst on Jenny's side, she pretended to go back to her office. Liam accompanied the lady to his office, as they entered, the door wasn't well-logged meaning from outside you see what was going on inside the office. Liam then started his work, before all consultation you needed to take down your patient's name, what was her problem, and so on, Jenny left her office walking gently to go see what was happening in Liam's office when she arrived, she was piping from the area which wasn't well logged, she saw Liam massaging the lady's neck, even thou Jenny knew this was for professional reasons she was still mad. Liam's assistant was coming from the other corridor, immediately she branched towards Liam's office, she met Jenny piping at his office, she tried stopping her during that. Jenny passed her hands over Liam's assistant mouth and dragged her to the other end of the corridor, Liam's assistant Lynne as she was called asked her why portraying such attitude as she knew as health personnel consultations were private affairs and all Jenny could say was that she was protecting her boyfriend from such people and said she did not like the lady sitting close to Liam. Jenny and the lady had never had any sort of discussion but just the fact the lady was looking at Liam when they were in the restaurant, triggered her to behave poorly. Lynne knew what she did was very bad but could not report her to the administration because deep inside of her she knew it's was going to be a waist of time, Jenny according to her was the only daughter of the Ayanne's si reporting Jenny was like putting her carrier into danger, she then pretended nothing had happened and continued her way. Selma was done in school, quickly rushing to her mum's mini restaurant to help her out, Mei Chao owned a mini restaurant but due to her financial status, she couldn't employ someone to help her serve the customers so Selma was done with school she had to come to meet her. Selma was already at the restaurant, one of her mum's customers finished eating and wasn't willing to pay, he was fun of that, eating without paying, he usually did that with Mei, as she was already weak she couldn't defend herself, but this faithful day, Selma said she wasn't gonna allow him to go free. He was putting on expensive slippers, Selma bent down and forcefully removed the slippers from his legs and ran to go keep them in a safe corner, the man stood up and in anger, he warned Mei to talk to her daughter, Selma insisted that if he doesn't pay his bills any slippers for him, he frightened to destroy Mei mini restaurant Selma still insisted on him paying his bills or nothing for him, he was shaking all the tables, yet Selma wasn't frightened and stayed on her point. Mei tried begging her daughter to release the slippers but Selma refused, it was only when the man paid his bills that Selma released the customer's slippers and she warned him never to eat at her mum's restaurant and tried to run away with their money.
