Chapter 4 Dangerous mistake

"Who fucking touched you!?" He roared with no shame, as he walked closer, who dared touch my omega, you're my omega, he rambled on

"You do not own me alpha Edwin," Anna spoke even with his fuming pheromones spreading she stood her ground But she sensed danger as he crept closer, but Anna was sleeker as she had the shrapnel in her hand, he had then bared out his teeth,

she wasn't sure if it was to mate her by force but anna was two steps ahead as she smacked him in his face, and with the shrapnel on that hand causing more of a fatal blow a san open wound appeared made the alpha roar in pain as he flinched backward

"Stay the fuck away from me!" anna called holding the small tool up still pointing it to the already bleeding alpha's face "You will regret this omega, you will regret ever rejecting me ill make you rue this day" he threatened as he walked away in anger, leaving the omega a little weak in her knees as she was shocked that he had gotten out offhand today he was almost like a mad man, she had reached home in hope for a better day tomorrow as she still had to work and make wine for their livelihood

*** THE NEXT DAY***

"I'm sorry my love," Kal spoke as he caressed her face, he had been called back to the capital with an urgent message from the king and it seemed important so he had to go, he was at the riverside with Anna who looked saddened about his sudden departure

He didn't tell her what he was going for since he hadn't revealed his identity to her yet, but he had promised himself he would when he comes back, with his mind made up that she would be his forever mate Anna had wanted to tell him about her encounter with Edwin yesterday but he seemed so much in a hurry that she just held it off till he comes back

"Be sure to be back alpha, I'll miss you so much, and I can't wait to mate you," she added making the alphas face light up as he surged forward and brought the petite omega into a kiss, she had then reached in his back pocket, pulling out a small box with a beautiful necklace in it, with sapphire stone.

"This may not be much but, this is a promise I will swear with you anna, you are my one and only mate, and ill love you till I die, so wait for me, my love,"

After a days journey, he had made it back to the capital, immediately visiting the palace, since it was an urgent call, as soon as he reached there, the first person he had laid his eyes on was non-other than princess Ivy, who smiled at him with an unreadable look behind it, but he didn't have time to figure that out as he was thinking of the fastest way to get back to his lover anna. Already making up his mind to move fully to that town and start life with her

"My king" he called as he entered the throne room

"Ah, Duke Vance welcome!" he called happily as he came down to give a slight pat on the shoulders of the duke, walk with me son he called as he led Michael across the royal halls, "What seems to be the the problem, your majesty?"

"You see, I always want peace, and you the person I have relied on you are a strong ally to this kingdom," 'what was he getting at?' Michael thought to himself

"I do not understand" "I want you to be my daughters' mate, Michael," he stated Cleary making the alphas mind thump in regress, he knew that Ivy had shown interest in him and always brushed her off, but this time the king had gotten involved seemed a lot more serious

"I'm sorry my king, but I cannot mate princess Ivy"

"This is an order duke Vance!" "An order that I surly must refuse, if you'll excuse me, sire, if that's all you want me for, I will take my leave," he called, but as he stepped out he saw Ivy coming into the throne room as she ran to her father, her eyes gleaming with hope, but from her face, it wasn't what she expected to hear as she recoiled in anger Michael had already made his way out of the palace when he heard footsteps fast approaching,

"Why don't you see me alpha Michael!" She shouted as she held on to the alpha who just looked at her coldly, why don't you see that I love you and that I want you, why don't you give us a chance alpha, I can die for you," she said that with much seriousness laced in it,

But this was how she always was, using people's emotions to get the best of them, but Michael was no fool with a vile force he removed his arm being held on by her

"Listen, your highness, do not dream of ever being mine as my heart already belongs to another and this will never happen," he called coldly before climbing his horse,

"Goodbye princess" he called already making his mind to leave and back to anna tomorrow, but as bad luck had had it, he had neglected the work and roles he had to play the duke for a week adding up another day till he could go back, even at night he fidgeted on how much he had missed his beautiful lover waiting for nothing more but to touch her

The trip back to almost two days but he finally reached, immediately moving to the house he had reached by evening by the wanted to see her before the morning time not wanting to waste another minute as the linking was unbearable.

But as Michael reached closer to her home, he noticed something was terribly wrong as he sniffed out smoke, looking up to see the direction of the flame was Anna's house?! And with speed, Michael had rushed there only for him to see the house up in flames, and no one there to help? Where was anna? Where was her papa?

His heart dropped and his body weakened as he saw what was left of annas father's remains at the side of the burnt house, this showed the struggle a sick man would have gone through as he was mercilessly being burned to death

"No, no, no" he whispered in panic, before he went up to his manor, stationing guards around the two to look for his omega, they had searched for hours, but no one in the town was saying anything as they looked scared anytime Michael had gone around asking,

the evening had already dawned and they didn't have a clue, all hope was lost until he saw one of his guards run up to him, he looked disheveled but his features didn't look like someone with good news the duke would expect.

"Duke Vance" he called, "we found her," His heart leaped in joy as he stood up

"Where is she? lead me to her"

"But sire she-" "-lead me to her!" He ordered not wanting to hear another word But as soon as the alpha reached the hillside, his gut twisted in agony as he already had a feeling before going down the cliff, and there she was, laid so beautiful on the rocks, as even though she was lifeless she still shined,

Michael had fallen dead on his knees she picked up his lovers' corpse,

"No, no, no Anna," he called, "my love please wake up," please, but there was no answer,

she was gone.
