Chapter 6 her grandmother

Chapter Six.

Subtitle : her grandmother.

** general POV **

Melanie began to panic as soon as Charlie went out of sight.

She sobbed as tears roll down her eyes.

Why did she agreed to come here anyway?

Why did she just come here of all places.

She could have just stayed back at home and pretend nothing happened between her and the alpha king.

At least she would still have a roof over her hed and food to eat even if everyone detested her.

Killing herself out here by offering her body as burnt offering to a fire beast was an insane option.

But she's already here.

No going back..

She sniffed and dried her tears before walking towards the border that lead into the desert.

Her sandald where dried and broken since she had being managing them for three years..

She had lost them while those two rogues kidnapped her.

She only hard a leggings on and her brown rusty hoodie.

As thick socks covered her feet.

As she stepped into the border of the desert and huge and blinding wind hit her hard in the face.

She shivered and screamed moving back.

After the wind has settled down she ambled back towards the desert.

Her eyes that was filled with tears seconds ago was now replaced with a face of determination.

She was ready to sacrifice herself to the beast if she would have peace of mind and forget about her heart that was hurting.

She was ready to take the risk.

As she stepped into the desert one more time a different kind of feeling hit her.

It was a feeling of dangernyet it screamed power.

She was scared to bones.

It was dry and carried around a banished humor.

She was afraid to the core for her life.

It was cold and freezing.

She had just a hood on and a pair of torn dirty leggings with a layer of sox.

It was a rough thing to encounter.

The breeze churned at her ears as it made angry sounds.

She shuddered and bite her lips.

It was as if someone was seeing her.

"who's there? "

She asked.

Her voice echoed in the dark as it made multiple more voice as it echoed along the way.

"pleaseee don't harm me... I just want to pass.. "

She added.

There was a sudden fuss in weather. It got too breezy that her hair was flying around in four different directions.

Her cloths fought to hug her body as it flew along.

A huge and dark figure appeared in front of her.

It was so huge that she almost fainted.

The beast was huge and looked like it had wings.

She whimpered and moved backwards.

With every step she takes the beast takes one after her.

And when the beast spoke it has the most unusual voice ever.

It was as sweet as a flute bread and was as melodious as her mother's lullaby.

She widened her eyes in surprise.

"hmmmm. How long would it have taken you to find me? "

The beast asked.

She cringed.

"please don't eat me... I'm just gonna pass here and I won't come back again... "

She muttered still going back.

"pass to where? I've waited nineteen years for you to come to me and now you want to pass? How redundant!"

The beast was angry as it reflects in its feminine voice.

Melanie could tell the beast was female from the way it talked so sweetly yet it's dark figure betrays it's sweet voice.

She still couldn't pin point what it was exactly.

"who... Who are you... Please do not eat me. "

Melanie added as she tripped on a stone and fell on the sand.

She crawled back.

"I won't eat you. I am the legendary fire phoenix and queen of the Phoenix deserts.

It's being thirty years since I recoiled here after loosing my fire bird.

I'm too old and have a little more days to live.

You are my next of kin and also the last. You have to take over from me before I die! "

The beast snapped and Melanie almost fainted with confusion.

"No please I don't know what your talking about please.

Do not eat me.

I don't know you.. "

She was brazed to the bones.

The beast was annoyed.

"shut up! "

The beast snapped and Melanie yelled and fell to the floor.

"I'm your queen and you don't have the right to talk back at me. Your just a phoenix princess. You must do as I say!"

The beast snapped again and Melanie closed her eyes.

It looks like she won't be able to escape from the beast.

"if you really want me to believe you then you should show me what you look like. "

She gathered some caurage and speak up.

"right. "

The beast replied and a sudden red fire enveloped it making the wild desert go windy again.

Melanie covered her eyes as she couldn't look at the beast.

It was too bright.

"look! "

The beast ordered.

She turned to face the beast and then.....

The moment she looked towards the bright direction a line of pee came wetting her pants.

She was terrified, shocked and mesmerised.

It wasn't because she was afraid but it was out of shock and disbelief.

"whhhat... What... Aare you... Please stay right there.. "

She cooed.

Before her stood a magnificent, elegant and we'll feathered red phoenix bird as Charlie hard earlier explained to her.

It wasn't as huge as the dragons in her books but if was almost ten feet tall and hard a broad body.

"who are you please? "

Melanie couldn't help but ask again.

She heard the beast growled and she hugged her thighs together in fear.

"what more do you want me to say? I am the the old phoenix queen and you are my next of kin. Your the last of our kind. People thought I was the last. No! werewolves and witches hunted me for my powers.

I lost my mate and daughter so I had to recoil to this place.

It was not because I was afraid of them but it was because I wanted to noture a firebeird egg for the last Phoenix Princess.

It took me twenty years to do so before you were born.

The eggs is now mature and is waiting for it's master to order it to hatch.

You are my next of kin.

You are its master!

The beast snapped and Melanie freezed.

"what do you mean next of kin? I don't even look like a beast not to talk of being related to you so please you've got the wrong person.. "

Melanie sobbed.

"nonsense! Who said I'm not your next of kin? I'm your grandmother... So you are my next of kin! "

The beast snapped.

Melanie was dumbfounded.

"Im a daughter to a werewolf. My mother is currently on her sick bed and is dying, every one hates me. How does that has to do with you? "

She snapped at the beast.

The beast sighed and saw that the young lady was broken.

The wind again started to blow fierely and another thick layer of fire enveloped the beast.

After the fire died down only a old yet beautiful lady with red hair was left standing.

Melanie almost screamed with terror. It was too much for her little weak brain to register.

"See, I'm also human. Don't think a beast because even you are my next of kin. Believe me when i say I'm you grandmother. How is your mother doing?.... "

The beast asked and Melanie who couldnt take it any longer fainted abruptly.
