Chapter 6 Six

The highschool annual school dance was coming up.

So two girls from the cheerleading team were putting up the sign in the cafeteria which got everyone talking about it.

As usual seated all alone, all Raiden could do was stare at the colorful wrapper.

But he lowered his head about to eat when he felt someone's gaze on him

He looked up and his eyes met with green ones.

He glared at her wondering what was up with her. Why was she looking at him.

He just scoffed and lowered his head , eating.

But after some minutes, he looked up and he didn't see her.

He didn't know why but he didn't get a good feeling about her absence.

Everyone else was in the cafeteria..

Where could she had gone off to and with who ???

So leaving his food tray and backpack, he went after her ....

He meekly went past the students before leaving the cafeteria.

He came out into the deserted and quiet hallway and he didn't see her.

Running his hand through his hair, he decided to check the bathroom

His feet was squeaky on the ground because the sole of his shoe was bent and scruffy.

He arrived at the restroom but the door was closed. Confused as to what to do, the door suddenly starts to open

He made to go close but someone suddenly puts a hand over his mouth and drags him back.

He starts shouting and struggling but the hand was like welded steel and the hand pressed down on his mouth further and he was dragged in a dark corner between two rows of lockers.

It was narrow so when the two students squeezed themselves in, his black eyes met with the familiar green ones.

They were so close, her chest was against his.

She removed her hand

"What the hell" He said pushing his glasses up his nose. "What..."

She rolled her eyes and put her finger to her lips and shushed him.

He kept quiet immediately when he heard footsteps coming close to where they hid.

"Something's going to pass by right now..." She whispered glaring at him just as he was glaring at her.

"Pretend like you didn't see them"

"W..what?" He spluttered angrily and confusedly. "What are you saying"

"Do. you. want. to. die"

She asked harshly and slowly.

He shook his head.

"Then do as I say" She sneered at him.

He turned to the direction of where the 'thing' was going to pass by and his eyes widened when he saw them.

In a straight line passing them were hooded creatures.

They looked like ghosts and he couldn't see their faces.

The hood was black and long and brushed against the floors as they floated past them.

Each of them held scythes as they passed by.

Suddenly one noticed his gaze and was about to turn to look at Raiden when Diana sighed and suddenly grabbed Raiden's head and pulled him close so that their faces were so close that their lips were almost touching.

This action caused him to focus all his attention on her.

His eyes were buried in hers and he held his breath, his heart thumping loudly.

The hooded creature waved it off as two highschool lovers messing about and kept moving and the two stayed like that till those things went away.

After that, he finally looked down at her lips and gulped.

"Uh....Diana..."

"What?" She said and when her warm breath landed on his lips, his legs weakened and almost gave way for his body to fall on the ground.

"They're gone. Would you kindly let go of me now"

Diana could note the irritation in his voice.

Rolling her eyes, she pulled away

'He should even be flustered that I'm touching someone like him'

'He's acting like I'm a disgusting troll'

"What were those things " He narrowed his eyes. "And how did you know I could see them"

"What?" She almost laughed. "You don't know those things. What kind of demon are you"

If it wasn't so cramped up where he stood, he would have fainted.

She was...a demon??!!!

No..calm down Raiden

Don't act too surprised

Just play along

"I've been living on earth for a while now" He said trying not to stammer

She folded her arms.

"They're soul collectors"

"What are they doing here"

Suddenly the school bell rang for the beginning of after lunch periods.

"Collecting souls" She replied boringly

"That's not the answer I was expecting"

"So what kind of demon are you" She suddenly asked looking interested in him for the first time since they met

"Uh...." He stammered when he suddenly face palmed himself. "Ah....my backpack. I left it at the cafeteria. I have to get it"

And before she could say anything, he ran out leaving her to narrow her eyes at him.

Suddenly Amber joined her.

"So?"

"I don't think he's a demon" Diana said turning to look at her.

Amber's eyes turned to a scary slit and she closed her eyes and it turned to normal.

"If he could see the soul collectors, he's certainly not human" She said.

Diana folded her arms

"I need to still uncover several things about him. Amber, I killed him and it was like he resurrected the next day".

"What were the soul collectors doing here anyway"

"Does that matter"

"Um" Amber rolled her eyes. "We only see them when there's a mass kill or something and they were in our school"

Suddenly she narrowed her eyes at Diana and Diana pouted guiltily.

"Okay..okay...it was Me. I made the mass kill"

"Diana!!!"

Students had begun to walk around the hallway so to not attract attention, she took her to an empty class and frowned at her.

"Why are you so obsessed with killing. Do you want the whole school to think there's some sort of haunted killing ghost in School"

"What's the big deal..." She rolled her eyes looking undisturbed.

Amber folded her arms.

"You really have to stop or you'll blow our cover"

Diana scoffed

"They know better than to come after me"

"We're not as powerful as before remember...we can easily be captured"

"If I keep killing, I keep draining more energy for myself. Don't tell me you're pitying this pathetic humans"

"I'm not" Amber denied , eyes widening

"Then prove it" Diana said smilingly evilly

"How?"

"Kill your boyfriend"
