Chapter 5 Five

She had a passive look on her face as she leaned closer to him, hands still palm faced on the table.

Raiden pretended not to notice her and faced sideways.

Mostly because a great deal of her cleavage was visible to him through the top three opened buttons on her shirt

Diana didn't seem to notice this and narrowed her eyes when he turned away from her.

"What you did yesterday" He said still not looking at her. "Only proves you killed Travis"

She bit her lips and smirked at his side profile.

Raising her hand up, she twirled it around her hair.

"So what if I said I did"

"Who are you"

"Why should I tell you"

He finally looked at her and used all his will power to stare into her eyes.

"What? You think if you tell me, I'll spread word about it..your secret will be safe with me"

She chuckled darkly and leaned closer so that there eyes were inches apart.

She smirked and Raiden gulped when he saw her sharp canines.

"A..are you a vampire"

"Pffffttt" She chuckled and he felt her warm breath on his lips. He drew back a little to calm his burning face. "Like those things exist" Then she grabbed the tie of his uniform and pulled him close with one jerk of her hand so that their faces were so close now, their noses were almost touching.

Gulping again, he pushed his glasses back onto the bridge of his nose and glared at her.

"If I tell you who I am, I'll have to kill you after"

He stiffened but suddenly he smiled and she frowned.

"You can't kill me"

"I could have finished you off yesterday"

He scoffed, his dark eyes reflecting and dancing in her green ones, they had forgotten how close they were.

"So you're saying you deliberately didn't kill me yesterday"

"Yeah" She said but they both knew she had killed him yesterday. How he was still walking and talking was still a mystery to her.

"It looks like we have things to explain to each other" Raiden said

She rolled her eyes and wound her hand around his tie bringing him more closer.

"What makes you think I'll talk"

"You can chose not to.. it's fine. Just know, I won't let you kill another human in this school"

The way he said 'human' made it evident that he was referring to Diana as a supernatural being.

Diana's gaze moved from his eyes to his lips and he suddenly parted his lips about too say something about personal space when she suddenly leaned closer so that their lips were so close that any slightest movements and they would touch.

Raiden froze unable to move as he found himself staring back at her lips.

He looked up to stare into her eyes but she was still focused on his lips.

"Are you threatening me now?" She said finally looking up. "I can make your mouth alot more useful than just saying nonsense"

"It's not a threat. I'm warning you"

"And who are you"

"That's for me to keep a secret and for you to mind your business"

"So we both have secrets we don't want to tell each other. And you won't let me have fun because you think you can overpower me now"

"Killing humans is not the definition of fun"

She smiled and ran her tongues over her upper lip, exposing her canines again.

"It's fun for me"

Suddenly the scent of Amber's signature perfume wafted into her nose and she could hear them coming inside probably to look for her.

Immediately she pushed him by loosing her hands from his tie roughly and without warning he fell back on his chair to the ground just as the rest of the Fivers came.

He grunted as his back hit the floor and he felt his glasses fall with a crack to the ground next to him.

He glared up at her but she smirked wickedly at him before turning back to her friends who were staring in shock at the position Raiden was in.

"Come on girls. Let's go for lunch" Diana said nonchalantly

"What happened here" Sam asked looking at Raiden who was slowly standing up.

"Just playing with the nerd" Saying that, she pushed Raiden's desk which fell backwards pushing Raiden to the ground again.

Annabelle and Samantha giggled at his pathetic situation while Amber just held Diana and pulled her out, looking uncomfortable.

"Come... let's go before people think we're hanging out with him"

As the two left, the other three followed them from behind.

Raiden just gritted his teeth as he stood up again, picking his glasses only to realize that he really needed to change it.

Tamora was filling out some forms when Raiden walked in.

"It's barely after-lunch" She sighed seeing his rumpled uniform and smashed glasses.

He sat down

"I'm going to need new glasses"

"Why can't you tell me who was responsible for your 'situation' yesterday Raiden" Tamora said, changing the topic, arms folded leaning against her swivel chair.

"I have to confirm something first"

"Confirm what? I was worried about you. I thought....I...was ..." She suddenly took off her glasses and looked down, softening her voice."I was going to loose you again".

Raiden sighed when he saw the tears falling ... transparent small diamonds were falling down her beautiful eyes, down her cheeks, some getting caught on her cherry colored lips.

He came close to her and knelt beside her to be of the same height and cleaned her tears with his two thumbs.

The tears that had fallen down her eyes had wiped away the grey contact lenses she was wearing, exposing her silver colored eyes.

As he wiped her tears, she looked at him and for a moment, they just stared at each other, saying nothing.

Suddenly she starts laughing but she still looked sad.

"I'm an emotional wreck" She said giggling helplessly.

Raiden just smiled and he rubbed his thumb against her cheek very fondly.

"I'll never leave you again" He whispered Then he pretended to be offended and flicked her forehead.

"Now stop being a worry wart and get me new glasses and get yourself new contact lenses".

She smiled sadly and whispered softly.

"Okay"

"Can demons take the form of humans" He suddenly asked.

"Yes. Why"

"For how long"

"An hour a day maybe" Then she frowned slightly. "Ha..have you come across one"

"Maybe" Then he noticed the panic in her eyes. "Even if I have, they definitely won't recognize me"

"Raiden I think you should just take a break from school, stay at home for a while and...."

"Tamora" He said warningly. "We've talked about this"

"If you really did encounter a demon it's only a matter of time before they figure out who you are" Then she sighed and looked away from him. "Then 17 years of our hard work will be thrown into the air like dust"

Raiden suddenly held her shoulders.

"Tamora!!!" He yelled and she suddenly stopped and calmed down. "You're overreacting again"

"I'm sorry Raiden. It's just..."

He stands up and takes his bag, hanging it around his shoulders.

"We'll go out tonight"

"What? No ...Raiden.. it's dangerous"

"When last did we just go out to have to ourselves" He smiled. "We're going out tonight? No buts, no excuses"

Before Tamora could say anything, he leaves.

Tamora's cheeks flush pink when the image of Raiden smiling at her flashed in her mind.

She smiled coyly and looked down trying to focus on her work.
