Chapter Six

The Next Morning**

Mabel, the maid unlocked the door to the rooms of the kids and let them out. Their mum ordered her to do so. She stared weirdly at Jeremy and went away.

He shivers at her glance and felt a heavy weight of iceberg on his back. He jerked immediately Jenny called his name; bringing him back to his normal self

"You zoned out, what are you thinking about this morning" Jenny asked

"Hey....Jenny" he went closer to her and whispered

"Did you see what u saw" Jenny arched her brows

"And what did you see" she asked

"That maid eyes glowed when she stared at me, just like that of Mohini, but hers seems different. I feel this bad aura around her" he mumbled

"Hmmm, when did you start feeling a bad aura?" she scoffs

"Since now"

"I have a feeling that she is also a fairy"

"Huh, Jeremy, Mabel is human, you are just seeing things okay, perhaps your mind is clouded with the dream you had the last time" She mumbled

"But what if my thoughts are true" He stated

"Hmmm, what if she got possessed by Black Bender" Jenny whispered, as they both wear a frightening look

"Jenny...I'm scared"

"Don't be, we are gonna keep a close watch on her" She assured

They sighted their mum coming out of her room. She was dressed and seems to be in a hurry

"Mum.....mum." they both called and hurried to meet up with her

"Morning kids, how was your night"

"Bad!!" they both exclaimed, Pouting

"I'm sorry kids, but I need to be at the hospital now....

"Hospital?? What happened?" Jenny asked

"Grannie is sick, the ambulance came to pick her up this morning, I need to go check up on her...Your foods are on the dinning; freshen up and have your breakfast. Love you...bye.." she said , got on a bike and rode off.

At The Dinning**

After freshening up, they retire to have their meal. Pasta and sauce was being served, as Jenny dug hungrily into her food. Mabel also sat at the table, but wasn't eating; she only served them and watched them eat. Jeremy was feeling uneasy; he stole a glance at Jenny who didn't spare him a glance, fully concentrated on her food.

He looked at Mabel, who gave him a disgusting glare..more like she is angry, but about what, he thought. She changed the atmosphere and made the room highly intense.

"You!!!" she barks. Jeremy stared at her, but her lips didn't move an inch, only her facial expression made him know that she was the one what spoke

"You tried to kill me...you killed my home" she spat. Jeremy doesn't need a soothsayer to tell him that Mabel wasn't the one speaking but Black Bender, who possessed her.

"No No... I did not kill you..it...was"

"Stop joking around boy....you are doomed" the voice said. Jeremy tried leaving his position but he couldn't, he was being pinned down by magic and Jenny seem oblivious of what is going on

"You are gonna die slowly...I'm gonna kill your grannie, then your Pa, your mum will follow; I will end you and this stupid sister of yours" Black Bender roared

"No no no, you will do no such things" Jeremy snapped back. He doesn't know where the courage came from but he felt a sudden strength engulf him

"Haaahaaa...take a look at the food you are eating" She muttered as he stares at his food. It was no longer the tasty pasta and sauce that he was eating, but a plate full of worms and blood. He shriek, hitting the plate off the table, and tried to reach for Jenny's preventing her from taking another spoon. But it happened all of a second, everything went back to normal and there was no worms neither was Mabel in the dinning, it was another maid called Ingrid.

"What!!!! Why did you kick off the food" Jenny yelled, he was shaking and sweating furiously. What he saw wasn't an illusion, neither was he hallucinating.

Mabel was here..but how is he gonna explain all this, he thought and gulped down his saliva.

"Don't you want the food" Ingrid asked

"Jeremy...you are sweating" jenny muttered

"Black Bender...he was here, in form of his possessed being...he appeared here..he told me that...." He paused immediately and stared at Ingrid. Jenny got his point; he doesn't wanna say it in front of Ingrid

"Hmmm....Jeremy, let's go to my room, we will talk more about it

"So he said all this" Jenny asked. They are actually in her room, and he explained his vision to her. They were still talking about it, when they heard their mum's voice..shouting at the maids to do some certain things, she seem angry or perhaps sad.

"Mum....mum, you are back...early" jenny shouted going to hug her, but stop abruptly, sighting her mum's face..she look worn out. Her eyes look red and puffy, more like she has been crying

"Mum...what is wrong.." her mum broke into more tears and hug them both, as she sobs on their shoulders

"You are making us sacred mum...why are you crying"

"No need of asking too much..we already know what happened" Jeremy said sadly

"What happened, I don't get you...Jeremy?" jenny called

"Grannie is dead...I believe Black Bender kept his word, he did what he promised to do...Black Bender killed Grannie" he mumbled under his breath, as a drop of tear rolled down his eyes.

"No no...that can't be true..Mum!!! Tell me it's not true..tell me!!!" Jenny screamed as tears gushed down her eyes

"Yes baby...yes...your Grannie is gone, I still can't believe this...but...please just be strong ..okay...its gonna be ok" Her mum assured, but she yanked her hand off her grip. Jenny and Grannie has a very close relationship, even more than her mum.

Hearing about her death is pissing her off. Grannie was hale and sound as at yesterday, she wouldn't just die like that if someone doesn't have a hand in it, and that will be Black Bender....he killed her precious Grannie..jeremy was right. He doubted him earlier, but now she wouldn't dare because everything is becoming a reality.

"Mum...where is Pa" Jeremy asked worriedly

"I don't know where he is"

"Oh no, we need to get him to a safe place before Black Bender gets to him....Pa is not safe" Jeremy muttered

"What are you all saying...who is black bender" Their mum groan

"You won't understand mum...but please just as we say...please mum" jenny pleaded, tears streaming down her eyes

Staring at her children, she felt pity for them..although she doesn't have a clue about what they are talking about..but deep down her, her subconscious persuaded her to do what they wants

Cleaning the stain of tears on her face.." ok I will call him now...but I need answers, you both are gonna tell me every bit of what's going on...." She sniffs, they nodded

Bringing out her phone, she dials Pa's number, it rings for some sec but he wasn't picking. She tried it for the second time and repeatedly but it was still abortive.

"Huunnn" she groaned..... ruffling her hair

"Pa isn't picking up...perhaps he is still at the farm....he doesn't know of grannies death yet..." She grouse

What are we gonna do now....Black Ben.....

"Enough of that Black Bender crap...let's go in, it's getting late already" their mum ushered them in, preventing them from saying further.

Later in the night***

Pacing round the room, their mum groan frustratingly and threw her phone across the room, making the kids to jerk in fright.

"Gosh..." she grunted

"Mum...what's wrong" Jeremy asked innocently, as he smuggled more into Jenny's grip

"Pa is not yet back...an I'm tryna call the local security agencies but the weather is fucking not making the network stable...I'm damn tired of all this, where could Pa be at this time of the night" she cooed, going close to the fire place.

Jenny drew Jeremy closer to her and hugs him tight, as they feel the warmth of their body...they do this each time they are cold or nervous. Looking outside the window, jenny muttered

"It's freezing out there....hope Pa is safe.." the fire made a crackling sound as the wall clock made a little ding sound

"Fine...that's it...10:00pm, I need to go out there..." their mum muttered, going to pick up her coat

"What...but mum...the weather is scary outside" jenny exclaimed, getting off the bed she was sitting in as she pushed Jeremy off her body a little.

"I know..but I gat no choice...I lost my mother few hours ago...I can't afford losing Pa too" her voice crack, as she tried hard not to cry again. Jenny nodded, and hug her. Jeremy also came forward and do the same. She patted their back and place a little kiss on their cheek

"I will be back soon, promise me you won't leave this room" she smiled, cupping their cheeks in her hand

"Sure" Jeremy yelled

"We promise..." jenny whispered softly. She hugs them for the last time and leave the room, locking it from the outside. She headed directly for the maid quarters, and knocked on Ingrid's room door

"Good Evening ma'am" Ingrid greeted drowsily, on opening the door

"Evening Ingrid...sorry for waking you up, but I need to be somewhere now..Pa is not yet back" Ingrid gasp

"Really....but I thought he went to the farm......

"Yea...just couldn't find him..i need to go check the farm...."

"Ok ma'am"

"Please watch out for my kids, they should be in bed by now" she pleaded

"Will do, ma'am...be back soon" Ingrid cooed sadly as she watch her take her leave

"Hmmm....Grannie died just few hours ago and Pa is missing now....tomorrow is Christmas...it's surely gonna be a sad celebration for this family" she thought and signed sadly, closing the door to her face as she retire to bed.

Mabel stood a few meter from the room, as she listened to their conversation. A small smirk escapes her lips as she takes gently strides to the other side of the room.

"You're sure gonna meet your doom Clara" she lets out an evil chuckle
