Chapter 9 Caught Crying

Although Mars was bothered by Michael's big mouth but he did not want to be rude to Michael anymore. Michael had been nothing but kind towards him except for the first day when the situation was complicated.

Drake, who claimed to be the number one boxer never interacted with Mars again so as to be safe from any more humiliation. But still, he was not someone who will stay quiet for a long time. He will surely do something to get back for the humiliation he had to face. His coach of the boxing club had degraded him too much. One chance and he would take the proper advantage of the situation.

It had been two weeks since Mars's arrival in the school, nothing out of ordinary happened.

It was night time and suddenly Mars's phone rang, which the principal had given him and he instantly knew that the person calling was no one else than his father. Noah was taking a shower so Mars did not have to care about him and picked up the phone impatiently.

"Father..." Mars could only say these words when the other person started to say, "How are you MARIA?" were the only words left the mouth of a father who had to send his daughter away from him that he had hidden from everyone till now, to the daughter he cherished, but to which he never showed his delicate side. He was asking how was she, it was a moment the daughter could not control her emotions and a tear left her eye.

"I am doing fine. How about the situation, is everything fine there?" Mars or should we say Maria asked controlling a new surge of emotion that was building up within her. Those three words 'how are you' might be simple but it meant the world to her since it was the first time, she had heard something like this from her father after her mother's death.

"Everything is still the same and we are doing our best to catch those people but they never left any traces but you should not bother about these matters just as I have told you." being away from his only daughter for two weeks, father surely felt like a piece of him was missing, although he never showed any emotions towards her due to the life, that was tough on them but how can a father's heart not turn soft for his daughter who went away for the first time in life from him and although it was not visible from his words but it was completely visible from his tone.

"Father..." Maria was again not able to say a word and listening to her father was making her more emotional. It was the first-ever emotional moment for her in her life with her father. 'Silent emotions', the moment could be named as that.

"Does someone trouble you there?" A father's concern was heard for once again.

"From what I have learned, I don't think the people here can trouble me." she tried her best to use the same tone as her father.

"I know I sent you to a place you can never be comfortable with but I still hope that you won't be causing troubles as well." Maria's father was making sure, even though she has never rebelled against him but for him, her identity was the top priority. No matter what, it can never be revealed to anyone.

"Maria I can't stay connected any longer, I will make sure to call you again." Her father said to his daughter in a sorry manner.

"Okay... ta... take care Father bye, be safe." Maria said hurriedly before her father cut the call but he had already disconnected the call and she felt disappointed.

She sighed and collapsed on the bed and thought about the possibilities of her still being there with her father. Although her main reason that she did not want to come here was sure that it was an all-boys school but there was another reason as well, she did not want to be a coward and wanted to face the danger standing beside or in front of the people surrounding her instead of hiding like this.

But she was becoming a threat to others around her as well and for that reason, she agreed to stay hidden.

She grew up in an environment where being a coward was not a choice so, she absolutely was against running away from everything and hiding in an all-boys school. No one would think that she could hide in a place like that.

She could not help but think about her mother again, who died because of some pathetic men in her life.

As soon as Noah stepped out of the bathroom, he saw tears on Maria's face, he got halted in his steps.

"Ummm... are you okay?" he could not help but ask since Maria's face resembled someone he knew in the past. Unknowingly, Noah was feeling attached to her face, he felt as if they had some kind of connection.

Maria was shocked by his sudden interruption in her thoughts but recovered and said, "It's none of your business." her words were sharp as she ran out of the room.

Here Noah was rolling his eyes and thinking of Maria as an overdramatic person and there was Maria, all embarrassed and humiliated about the fact that someone saw her crying, it was the first time in all those years that she shed tears in front of anyone.

The last person she remembered, she cried in front of, was her mother.

"Damn it, how can I cry like this knowing that there is someone living with me in the same room. It's Michael's fault. Yup, it's his fault. If he would not have shown his big teeth in front of me, I would not have been this relaxed these days." she pushed the blame on Michael for her small emotional outburst.

From where she came or more like for what situation she was in, her father had trained her in a manner that emotions were not considered. It was not like she never cried but whenever she did, she would be alone, in a corner while no one would be aware of the misery she was going through in her head.

After strolling for some time, she came back to the room and was grateful that Noah was asleep now.
