Chapter 3 No Wedding

"What are you talking about? You two have got marriage licenses, and you don't want to hold the wedding? The Bryant Family is influential. We can't bully Ashley like this. I disagree." The Elder Master was furious and then looked at the silent Ashley. "Rest assured. I will never let you feel aggrieved."

"I'm fine with that." Ashley felt like she was still dreaming. She glanced at Leonard, whose face was expressionless, but the look in his eyes was tinged with a trace of impatience. "Actually, I am not that familiar with Mr. Bryant and don't think a wedding is necessary at this moment."

Ashley felt quite aggrieved inside when she said so. However, as far as the current situation was concerned, the wedding was really unnecessary. Maybe Leonard would divorce her when he sobered up someday. Therefore, it would be better to keep this matter a low profile.

The Elder Master flew into a rage and roared at Leonard. "You Brat. The wedding must be held, and you must not let Ashley down. You don't have to go to the company these days. Have a holiday to build up your relationship with Ashley until you finish your wedding and honeymoon."

Leonard turned to look at Ashley. However, before he said anything, his grandfather's voice sounded again, "Don't look at Ashley. I'm in charge of this."

"Grandpa Bryant, that's very considerate of you," Ashley revealed a smile at the older man. "I know you're doing so for my own good. But I genuinely think there is no rush to hold the wedding. I've just graduated from college and want to spend some time developing my career. The wedding could be postponed to a better time."

The Elder Master furrowed his brows slightly. "Do you really think so?"

Ashley nodded vigorously. "Yes."

"Well, if Ashley says so, I agree to postpone the wedding to half a year to a year. By then, you have to hold it." After thinking for a second, the elder man concluded.

Ashley nodded in agreement.

Then, the Elder Master took a bunch of keys from the butler and then handed them to the young man, saying, "Ashley, these are keys to the seaside villa at the Pear Blossom Garden. Please take it as a gift from me. Why don't you and Leonard move into the house?"

Staring at the keys in the older man's hand, Ashley widened her eyes open in shock. "Grandpa Bryant, as a gift, it's way too expensive. I cannot take it."

"You are now my granddaughter-in-law. This house is for you." The Elder Master smiled lovingly, then shoved the keys into Ashley's hand. He tilted his head to look at Leonard again. "You know the address. Take Ashley there."

"Grandpa, you are being partial. That year when I returned from abroad, you kicked me out of the house and asked me to rent a place." Leonard stared at the Elder Master. "I doubt if I'm your biological grandson."

Ashley looked at Leonard with a little surprise. The man's face was cold and expressionless, and he was giving off a standoffish vibe.

The older man snorted coldly. "If you dare to bully Ashley, don't think I'll treat you as a grandson."

Leonard nodded helplessly, then turned to leave. A black Bentley stopped by the road.

Seeing Leonard leaving alone, the Elder Master shouted with anger, "Bastard, I'm asking you to take Ashley to the Pear Blossom Garden Villa. Did you hear me?"

"Doesn't she have legs? Cannot she get in the vehicle by herself?" Leonard replied while getting into the car.

"Grandpa Bryant, I'm leaving. See you around then." Ashley came to her senses and hurried to follow up with the young man and get into the vehicle.

Watching the black Bentley disappear from his sight, the older man lowered his head to check the marriage licenses in his hand, smiling. "Finally, someone is willing to marry that brat. I don't have to worry about his marriage any longer."

Sitting in the black Bentley, Leonard closed his eyes to rest. He had always been a sane, calm, and self-controlling man. Last night, however, he lost all his self-control because of Ashley.

In fact, from last night until the present, Ashley got no chance to observe her idol closely. At this moment, she eventually dared to look at him secretly as he was resting with his eyes closed.

His short black hair was clean and neat, his eyes under those sword-like brows were closed tightly, his nose was straight, his lips were thin, his chin was clear-cut, and his throat appeared sexy. Ashley could not help swallowing her saliva with her eyes filled with affection. After all, the man had existed in her life for four years. Almost everyone around her knew that her idol was Leonard.

Over the years, Leonard was a man in the headlines in Sea City. He won the highest award for architects at a young age, which was a lifetime achievement award being regarded as the Nobel Prize in architecture. After that, he successively won many international architectural design awards. Each of his architectural design drawings could be auctioned for hundreds of millions of RMB. Everyone regarded him as a genius in architecture design. Besides, he was the successor to the Bryant Group, the most prestigious group in Sea City. Thus, though he was only 28 years old, his net worth was hundreds of billions of RMB.

Although Leonard had so many shining points, he had kept a low profile in his life. He rarely attended public events. The pictures of him that could be found on the Internet were all those of his side face taken by paparazzi.

Ashley adored Leonard as an idol so much that to get his photo, she tried all means and eventually found a frontal image of him at a foreign website. She printed it out and kept it in her wallet.

Looking at the man sitting next to her, Ashley thought about the intimate interaction between them last night and felt genuinely satisfied with her life, and her cheeks became hot. What was more, she was married to him. The woman felt like all her dreams had come true.

While thinking and digesting the happenings, Ashley could not help smiling.

Then, she quietly took out her cell phone and leaned closer to Leonard, intending to take a selfie with her idol. However, as she finished adjusting her pose and the angle of the camera, she noticed Leonard opened his eyes in the camera and hurried to press the button.

Leonard did not fall asleep. He looked at Ashley, asking in a cold voice, "What are you doing?"

Ashley hurriedly moved her body further from the man, smiling. "You look very handsome with your eyes closed, so I wanted to take a picture of that."

Leonard said, frowning slightly, "Delete it."

"Why? It's just a photo." Ashley was reluctant to delete it. It was not easy for her to get a selfie with her idol, so she wanted to keep it as a souvenir.

Leonard suddenly reached out at Ashley's phone, and the woman hurried to hide it behind her.

"Give it to me." Leonard disliked taking pictures. Associating the smart look in the woman's eyes and the smell of aphrodisiac perfume on her last night, which made him lose all his self-control, he doubted that the entire thing was a trap and that Ashley had a hidden purpose.

"Nope. It's just a selfie." Ashley kept the phone in the back. "Why can't you just let me have it?"

Leonard reached for the phone behind Ashley. At this moment, the car suddenly braked. Thanks to inertia, his body pressed against the woman, and his lips happened to touch hers.
