Chapter 5 Mister Rarely Has Breakfast

"I'll do it, Madam, put your hand under cold water in case you get burned."

Alison got up, put her hand under the running water for a while, and heaved a sigh of relief after seeing the man getting into the living room out of the corner of her eye.

"Madam, actually, mister rarely has breakfast at home."

Adela said, "So, you don't need to bother preparing it."

"Okay."

Alison responded blandly, thinking about the slim possibility to accomplish this little thing.

Just then, a servant rushed in, "Adela, mister asks if the breakfast is ready."

Just finishing cleaning up the floor, Adela was surprised to hear the news, "Yes, yes, I'll get the porridge there right away. Madam, wait for me in the dining room."

Alison nodded, slowly took off her apron, and walked out of the kitchen.

A few steps away in the dining room, Jason already took his seat and was reading the morning newspaper.

His fingers were slender while his eyes looked clear and reserved. The dark circles around his eyes became much lighter, and his beard was shaved, which accentuated his sculpted and elegant features.

If he was not seriously ill, Alison would definitely admire him for God's favor.

Sensing her inquiring gaze, Jason raised his head and looked straight into her shiny eyes.

As expected, Alison immediately looked away, took two steps forward, and sat down diagonally opposite him.

Visibly her cheeks turned rosy.

Jason gave a smile and continued to read the newspaper.

The breakfast was soon served, and Alison quietly had her porridge. From the corner of her eye, she kept watching the man. It seemed he really was reading the newspaper carefully.

While reading, he casually scooped the porridge into his mouth.

What a waste of her effort. Alison thought to herself. She learned how to cook the porridge from a bestie who worked as a chef in a star restaurant. Absolutely it smelt fragrant and tasted mellow.

Unexpectedly, the man had it so casually.

Soon, Jason's congee almost bottomed out, but he hadn't finished reading the newspaper. Slightly casting his eyes up, he noticed only Alison and himself were in the spacious dining room.

Reading his thought, Alison was immediately cheered up.

He finished it and wanted another bowl.

That was a praise for her cooking skills.

She stood up with a smile, "I'll get you another bowl."

"I'm fine." Jason put away the newspaper and lifted his wrist to check the watch, "If you're done, we are going to the Civil Affairs Bureau."

"Oh, okay."

Alison got up and hesitated at the sight of his blue shirt, "Could you change into a white shirt?"

"Why?"

"It seems all the couples wear white shirts for marriage certificates."

This might even be considered another must-do. They wore matching outfits.

Jason sounded a little impatient, "I need to go to the hospital for a reexamination, so time is limited."

Alison fell into silence, "Well, wait for a moment, I'll go up and get my bag."

"Alright."

At the sight of the figure disappearing from the top of the stairs, Jason arched his brow and shouted to Zedd who had been eavesdropping in a distance.

"Time to go."

"Coming."

Zedd disguised the strong inquiring color in his eyes, thoughtfully came to the door, and pulled it open for Jason.

"Mr. Moore, this way please."

Jason glanced at Zedd's neatly ironed white shirt and curled up his lips, "Take off your shirt."

Zedd, "... Huh?"

"Switch it with me." Jason sounded cool.

Zedd, "I see!"

...

Alison went upstairs, loaded her bag with her ID card and residence booklet, quickly changed into the blue georgette blouse she wore yesterday, and then hurried downstairs with her bag.

There were no signs of Jason in the living room.

"Mister is waiting in the car." Adela reminded her.

"Okay."

Alison then trotted to the parking lot again and hesitated in front of the car. Should she sit in the front or the back row?

Jason was sitting in the backseat...

Since she didn't get in, Jason rolled down the window and waved at her, "Get in."

After a moment of daze, Alison pulled open the door of the back seat and got in the car.

Instantly, she felt the spacious back seat narrow.

Involuntarily, she leaned to the side and noticed his cold gaze. Then his cool voice came over.

"Didn't you mention white shirts for marriage?"

Alison turned her head and finally noticed the man already in a white shirt!
