Chapter 4 Madam Got Breakfast Ready

Adela immediately came up to carry her luggage, "Madam, I'll lead you to your room."

She wasn't quite used to the title, "Just call me Alison... My surname is Clark, Alison Clark."

"Madam, you're so polite." While walking, Adela said, "I'm a distant relative of Moore Family and the housekeeper of the mansion. Like the mister, you can call me Adela. If you need anything, just give an order."

"Okay, thanks, Adela."

Adela led Alison to the guest room on the second floor, "The sheet and bedding are all changed this morning. Only the furnishings are selected by mister and a little masculine. I hope madam won't mind it."

"It's okay."

Adela made arrangements and then left. Alison closed the door and looked around the bedroom carefully.

In black, white, and grey, the furnishings and layout were the simple industrial style. It was quite to her taste but lacked a human touch.

Alison was not a pretentious woman and had anticipated this when she promised the old man. Therefore, she didn't regret it or planned to live her life in misery.

After all, Jason was very handsome.

She took a shower and then hit the bed. Probably because of the unfamiliar surroundings, she woke up as early as six o'clock the next morning.

The sky was clear and blue. The Cullinan Moore Mansion was indeed stunning and boasted high vegetation coverage. The views distant and near were pleasant to the eyes.

Alison practiced a set of yoga moves on the balcony and instantly felt refreshed.

She simply got washed, changed into a white blouse, and went downstairs.

When the servants downstairs saw her, they all respectfully stood still and greeted her, to which she responded tacitly.

She sat in the living room for a while, but Jason still didn't come down.

Adela told her, "It seems mister has a new project to attend to recently. He has been busy and is probably catching up on sleep. If you're hungry, I'll order the chef to cook something for you first."

Alison suddenly remembered one item from the Romance Handbook: cooking breakfast for the partner.

She was originally reserved. On a second thought, the man only got less than six months to live, and she needed three months to finish the 100 must-dos if one item was done each day.

So, she should act promptly.

"I'll do it." Alison said, "He will probably wake up by the time when the porridge is done."

A flicker of surprise flashed across Adela's eyes. Mister was blessed to get such a gentle and approachable wife. So sweet.

Alison really went to the kitchen to cook porridge, fry eggs, and toast bread.

At half past eight, Zedd arrived at the mansion. When he heard from Adela that Madam was cooking, his jaw almost dropped.

"Ma... Madam?"

It was just a night. Where did the Madam come from?

"Old Mr. Moore sent her over, and the couple had a serious talk last night before marriage was agreed upon. Mister already asked us to change our appellation to her." Explained Adela.

Zedd sighed with emotions!

Alison simmered the congee for over 40 minutes and turned off the fire when fragrance came out. Just then, Jason happened to come downstairs.

"Mister, madam already got breakfast ready." Said Adela with a smile.

After a moment of daze, Jason took a glance at the woman in an apron busy working in the kitchen.

Alison happened to look over, and their gaze met. In a haste, she looked away, and her hands shook, thus dropping a bowl of hot porridge. With a crack, it fell apart.

"Ah!"

Alison let out a low cry and hastened to stoop for the broken bits. Her finger was burned reddish by the hot congee.

Jason's eyebrows slightly furrowed. It seemed she hadn't been used to his presence.

Adela rushed into the kitchen, "Madam, are you alright?"

"I'm okay." Alison felt quite embarrassed and flustered.

This man would face her every following day, and it was just the first day today. Alison, get used to it!
