Chapter 6 Nicholas

After a week, Aiday seemed to be getting used to her new life here. My parents finally calmed down and agreed to help us keep everything organized for the wedding, which my mother was extremely happy about. Since my sister came out and said that she would never marry, my mother was worried that she would never get the chance to help her daughter plan her wedding day; Aiday may not be her daughter, but she will be her daughter-in-law.

Aiday and I hung out after I finished work; ever since I discovered that Aiday didn't know the whole story of why she had to marry me, I've debated on telling her. I didn't want there to be any secrets between us, but there is. I knocked on Aiday's door with a bouquet of roses in hand; the moment Aiday opened the door, I had no words, "Hi Nick," she said. I handed her the flowers, which took, smelling their scent, "Thank you, they're beautiful." I took her hand,

"You look stunning." I said, kissing her hand, "Are you ready to go? I have something very special planned for tonight." Aiday smiled a bit before grabbing her purse. She looped her arm around mine and we headed out. I grabbed the keys from Rick, who wanted to protest but agreed to back off tonight. Opening the door, I helped Aiday get into the passenger seat of the car; once she was in, I walked around to the driver's side and hopped in the car. Soft music played as we drove through the vampire community to the small town nearby that hosted all creatures of the night, not just vampires, werewolves, and even witches.

We pulled up to a small restaurant, the aroma that emanated from it was incredible. I smiled at Aiday who seemed confused,

"I didn't think vampires ate regular food?" I chuckled lightly,

"Most don't. Royal vampires can and so can half-breeds; it's weird, I know but I also have to drink blood to stay strong. Half-breeds only have to drink blood every few months, my family needs to at least once a month." she nodded, seeming to understand. We got out and went inside; I gave the hostess the name and she escorted us to a booth. We glanced over the menus; I looked up at Aiday, she was looking at the interior of the restaurant which made me smile, "Do you like architecture?" I asked, she looked back at me,

"Oh, no, I was just thinking that the restaurant is beautiful. I've never been somewhere so nice." I raised an eyebrow, "Just because I'm the daughter of an Alpha doesn't exactly mean we were rich and could go to places like this; my parents had five children." I smiled,

"I see, it's only ever been me and my sister, but I haven't seen her since I was really young." she nodded, our waitress came by the table,

"Good evening, my name is Hannah, what can I get for you?" I looked to Aiday,

"Order whatever you'd like," I told Aiday, she glanced over the menu again,

"I'll take the chicken alfredo, please, with a side salad with ranch." Hannah nodded then turned to me,

"And for you, your highness?" she asked me,

"I'll take the same. And could we have a bottle of Pinot Grigio, please? Thank you." Hannah nodded, as she turned to walk away to put our order in, she grazed her hand over my arm so lightly, I almost didn't notice; before I could say something, I heard a slight growl from Aiday.

"How dare she touch you." She growled, her words were so soft, I almost didn't hear her. I took her hand in mine,

"I'll take care of it." I told her when Hannah came back with the wine and glasses, I gave her a slight glare; after she poured the wine, I cleared my throat, "May I speak to the manager, please? I'd like to speak to him about catering to our wedding." Hannah looked at Aiday with a dirty look, then back at me,

"Of course, just a moment." She said, then she walked off, leaving the bottle in a small bucket of ice. Aiday seemed confused,

"What are you planning?" she asked, I simply smirked at her before I turned my attention to the manager heading this way, he bowed his head to me,

"Prince Nicholas, I understand you wanted to speak to me about catering to your wedding?" I clasped my hands together,

"Perhaps another time, the real reason is our waitress," the manager looked up at me, "She has made my fiance uncomfortable; she placed her hand on my arm in an unprofessional way, could you swap her for someone else? Someone more respectful?" The manager nodded,

"Of course, sir; we've had many complaints but haven't been able to do anything about it. I'll have this sorted out, and consider your meal on the house."

"Thank you, now, do you have a card that we could call you to discuss catering?" he pulled out a card and handed it to me,

"This is my personal number, feel free to give me a call at any time. Now, your new server will be with you shortly to check on you, enjoy your meal." I nodded my head to thank him and then turned my attention to Aiday, she was clearly shocked. I chuckled at her dumbfounded state which made her blush lightly.

"You look adorable when you're embarrassed," I told her, she gave me a playful glare and smiled; was she actually taking a liking to me? I shook it off right as the server comes by our table with our food, he smiles at us and took the bottle, and poured us both some more wine,

"I'm so sorry about Hannah, she has been trouble ever since she started here. I really hope you both enjoy your meal and if you need anything else, my name is Cameron, please, do not hesitate to ask." I nodded in thanks and he walked away,

"So, is this the surprise? Dinner?" Aiday asked me, I took her hand and smiled,

"Part of it. But the rest is for later." She gave me a look,

"If you think we're going to have sex, you are sorely mistaken." I straightened in my seat, kind of offended that she would think so little of me,

"I will not touch you like that, not without your permission. Even when we are married, if you don't want me to touch you, I won't." Aiday seemed a bit surprised by this, but sat there, eating her food. We sat in silence while we ate our dinner.

After dinner, we left and went to the park where they were having a music night. Aiday's eyes lit up the car with excitement, I smiled. I had spoken to some of Aiday's friends during the party and discovered that she was a singer. We got out and walked around, listening to the singers that performed; I walked over to the signup desk with Aiday, "Name?" The woman at the desk asked, I nodded towards Aiday,

"Aiday Alcmene." Aiday's eyes grew wide,

"No, absolutely not. I haven't sung in months." Nick placed a hand on my arm,

"Please, I'd love to hear the most spoken of voices. Everyone was hoping to hear you sing at the party and some even asked me if I had heard you sing." She shook her head, but then I thought of something, "How about this, if you sing just one song, then I'll take you to the home of the witches, they may be able to give you something to help you find your mate sooner." Aiday perked up by this,

"Are you sure? Are you certain they could help?" I sighed,

"I think so; they've been very helpful to my family for years, I'm sure they can help." She gave me a small glare before finally saying,

"Fine. I'll do it." I was like a child, jumping for joy inside, "But I'm singing one of my songs." I nodded.

"Next up, Aiday Alcmene!" The announcer called her name, she went on stage and I went around to watch. She hooked her phone up to the speakers. The music started softly, I stared in amazement as she began to sing. Her voice was like an angel's; so many people just watched her in awe as she sang.

As the song came to an end, everyone began to cheer and clap. I took Aiday's hand and helped her off the stage, she whipped the tears from her eyes; I took her in for a hug and held her when she calmed down, she took my hands, "Thank you, Nick, that was so much fun." I smiled and kissed her cheek,

"You were incredible, Aiday." She blushed, "Please, sing more often, you have the most beautiful voice I've ever heard." She pulled me into a tight hug. We watched more performers until Aiday started yawning. We went straight home, I walked her to her room before giving her a kiss on the cheek, "Goodnight, Aiday, sleep well."

"Night, Nick." I went to walk off, "Hey," I turned back, "I had fun tonight, thank you." I smiled and decided to head to bed myself.
