Chapter 2 I Am Coming to Marry You

Invisible power pours down from Kenny. Carol, paralyzed as she, falters to say, "Why, why you invite me here?"

Kenny reaches out his hand to lift Carol's chin. He holds her beautiful face gently, with his fascinating voice, "It's time to fulfill the contract we concluded five years ago."

Carol's heart is hanging tightly and her lips can't stop trembling, "Five...five years? Contract?"

"Forget?" Kenny sneers and kindly reminds, "Five years ago, I said I would marry you when you were twenty years old."

Suddenly, she remembers everything.

She, frightened as she is, stares at Kenny who behaves like a winner. She cannot even utter a word, as if she was caught in the throat.

Seeing that she is completely dumb, Kenny says with his warm breath spraying on her face, "So it is the time for me to match my commitment."

Carol, with her hands clenching into fists, gets up the courage to face his hazy eyes, "Do you take the marriage as revenge?"

A grim smile appears on Kenny's unrivaled face. He says, "Not with standing a revenge, you will choose to marry me and even feel grateful to me. Am I right, Miss Jones? "

Carol's heart is sinking to the bottom of the valley without a trace. Eventually, she bows to him, "You are right. I am grateful that you can marry me now."

"So smart!" Kenny rubs her chin with his finger pulp and shortens their distance.

Carol, having recognized what he is going to do next, moves her head subconsciously.

Kenny holds her chin forcefully suddenly. So painful, as if her chin were crushed.

"Miss Jones, you agreed to marry me five years ago. How about your attitude now? Any change?" Kenny says with cold voice. Hearing that, Carol cannot help but shiver.

Turbid valves are rolling over in Kenny's eyes, whilist Carol has a pale face. She starts to think what she did just now? This man is her in-waiting husband. She has no excuse or qualification to get away from him. She cannot escape from his hand even for her dad.

Considering that, Carol strains every muscle to stand on tiptoe, closes her eyes, and trembles to kiss his lips.

The cigar smell comes to her nose before she touches his lips. She puts away her sadness and humiliation, tramples her dignity hard on the ground and stands on tiptoe once again. However, when she approaches so closely and tries to kiss him, Kenny throws her chin away and turns around loathly. "You want to seduce me now without any legal title? At 9 AM tomorrow, bring all your certificates. We meet at Civil Affairs Bureau."

After Kenny leaves away, Carol stays in the room, stunned like a silly, and comes to herself after a long time.

The next day.

Holding a marriage certificate, Carol is in a trance.

On the red certificate, their photos seem to be combined. They, just like enemies, sit together, without any trace of smile on their faces.

Kenny drives away after getting the marriage certificate. His assistant and driver Bill pays half-a-year medical expense for Carol's dad and then drives her back to Kenny's house.

It's a very luxurious three-storey villa with an outside swimming pool and a garden. It, boasting its quality interior decoration, resembles an imperial palace. Seven or eight servants perform their duties. Carol was born with a silver spoon, but this house is much more luxurious.

The night is well advanced.

Carol gets up from the sofa, puts her perturbation away and feels relived. Kenny manages a big company and is surrounded by all kinds of women each day. It is midnight. She thinks that he won't be back.

So she puts on her pajamas and goes to bed. Her nerves are on edge recently. But now she relives and falls asleep soon.

Carol is sleeping soundly. Suddenly, she feels a heavy object pressing on her, and opens her eyes by instinct.

The light is off before she goes to bed, but now the light is on. A strong alcohol smell comes from Kenny. He presses against Carol by the quilt, with his hand going inside the quilt...

"Kenny, you...you are drunk. Don't behave like this."

Though prepared herself emotionally, she flinches for one moment due to the strange touch.

Kenny feels her resistance. He pulls the quilt and throws it onto the ground, reminding her tyrannically, "We are legal now. I am your legitimate husband, your man. Forget?"

Carol, with her body just like a log, says in a low voice, "I haven't forget, I am your wife.".

Seeing Carol's obedience, Kenny, with his previous tone disappearing in an instant, reaches out his hand and rubs her chin gently, "Good. You are docile."

Carol feels the roughness of her face, as if the insects were crawling there. Strong fumes of wine come from Kenny's breath. She is nearly drunken.

"Kenny, you are drunk now. Can you go to sleep?" She tries to get up to avoid any touch with him. But Kenny is lying above her, which makes her breathless.

Carol pushes Kenny's shoulder away with great care, but this movement irritates him. He flew into rage, "Tonight is our wedding night. I am going to sleep with you."

With these words, Kenny lowers down his head on her neck, giving her no chance to struggle.

The strange contact and strong fumes of wine makes Carol resists instinctively, "Wait, Kenny, I'd better get you a cup of honey water to alleviate your hangover."

"Too noisy, shut up!" Kenny gets annoyed like a irritated leopard, with his lip pressing against her lip to stop her.

Carol's revolt cannot stop him at all. She'd rather die at that moment.

Kenny pauses and looks down at Carol, who has twisted facial features as well as dark and obscure eyes - just one pauses. After that, waves of pain rush up, appearing to crash her.

If this is a dream, she hopes this is just a nightmare...

Her bumpy body resembles a boat in the ocean during a storm.

Late at night, everything in the room subsides. Kenny stares at Carol, who is sleeping. He reaches out his hand to put her hair on her face behind her ears. His eyes are brimming over with endless gentleness, instead of the vertex of the storm. After just one moment of warmth, he decides to get up. Then, he takes up his clothes and leaves away.
