Chapter 3 3. Your blood tastes good

Chapter 3

-Anastasia's POV-

"Anastasia?"

"Yes." I straightened up once hearing him call my name.

"Relax. I won't eat you up." The Alpha showed me a gentle smile which surprised me.

He looked like a gentleman. It was not what I had heard about him before. When I was running errands for Jenna, I had heard from her that there was an alpha who killed his father and took over the pack...And the pack was called Night Howlers...So, the man killed his father? I couldn't imagine that.

"Be seated, please."

He nodded at me and I sat down, "Yes, alpha." I believed I behaved well just like what my brother told me to do.

"My name is Aiden." He raised his eyebrows after hearing what I said, "You can call me Aiden."

"...Can I?" I lifted up my eyelids and found he was still smiling at me.

He gave me a look which reads, "Just obey my order."

"Yes, Aiden." I must look stupid for repeatingly saying yes.

"So your name is Anastasia, right?" He played with a pen in his right hand, asking.

"Yes." Dam*n, I said yes again.

"I've heard from your brother. He took you away because you suffered a lot there?" I didn't dare to look at his sharp eyes and kept my head bowed.

"...Yes. I was an Omega." I swallowed. "A slave to the Alpha's house."

Aiden nodded. "No worries. We don't keep slaves in Crimson. As long as you fight well and fair, you will be treated with respect." He sniffed, "And I don't like Alpha Don. He is an old fat idiot."

Oh good, we have something in common then.

He stepped closer to me which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. He had a strong alpha scent, much stronger than Don's. It made me hold my breath and dare not to look up at him.

"Come here." He lowered his voice and grabbed my right hand.

"I won't hurt you." He whispered in my ears. His hot breath made me shudder. That was a strange feeling.

I lifted up my head only to find that I could only face his chest because he was too tall. And we were too close. Did the ritual have to be so intimate? His heartbeat was so clear to me that my heart pounded faster than usual.

What will he do to me?

Whatever that is, I'm kinda anticipating.

With my attention wandering, I suddenly felt a drip of warmth on my face. My senses told me it was blood.

"Sorry, the blood doesn't listen to me." He said in a sing-song tone and then he bowed his upper body and crushed me into the soft couch.

"Well...It doesn't matter..." I stuttered as he approached my face. His breath heated up my cheeks and I forgot to breathe.

We were so close that I had a feeling that his lips would crush on my cheek. I could even count his eyelashes...I bet there was a siren in the blue sea of his eyes. If not, why was I absorbed into it and almost drawn?

Finally, he pressed his finger on the drop of blood and wiped it off. He tasted the drop of blood while he still stared into my eyes.

"Sweet." He chuckled, leaving me blushed.

Was he referring to his own blood or anything else? I couldn't help but wonder.

"Time is running off. You're wasting an alpha's blood." He showed me the bleeding wrist which was about to heal.

"Drink it."

I shivered, approaching his wrist. My lips crushed on it and I started to suck blood from the wound. It was a bit salty...and sweet as honey.

The blood flew down my throat and into my stomach which churned after I drank it. An extreme pain got me. I groaned..

I had ever experienced this kind of pain before. My aunt's lashes were nothing compared to it. It was affecting my nerves, breaking the old pack bond and forging a new one. My wolf Amy also growled in great pain, but no one could hear her except me.

My head was dizzy, I felt I was laid down flat by someone with a good scent. His scent comforted me a bit. I could not help but crouch closer to him.

"Now, it's your turn." I heard him chuckling and he tilted his upper body to me and grabbed my left hand.

"Might hurt...Relax." He whispered. But how could I relax when he showed his fangs to me??

HIs fangs sank into my wrist and the blood flew down my arm.

"Just a drop of your blood..." He said so, but he buried his head in my wrist and started to lick all the spilt blood. A current of electricity went down my spine when his tongue agilely moved on my skin. Then he sucked the rest of the blood from the healing wound until it disappeared.

I realized I was holding my breath when he sucked my blood after he lifted up his head and stared at me.

I guessed he had some magic. Otherwise why would I pass out in his gaze?

When I came to consciousness, I found my brother sitting next to me, staring at me with his hazel eyes.

"She is fine now. I'll take her home." Ajax turned around and pulled me to him. I staggered and peeked at Alpha Aiden who was smiling at me.

I quickly bowed my head in order to avoid eye contact and left with Ajax.

"I will show you around the pack." Ajax said while leading me out of the pack house.

Crimson Crest is a medium size town with around 1000 werewolves. Like every other pack town, it has its own school, shopping mall, hospital, and a temple for the Moon Goddess.

Ajax was a terrible guide and we didn't talk much during the tour. He drove me to a school and left me there, saying he had to deal with some emergency. Before he left, he called a girl whose name was Farisa and said she can be my guide here.

"What a jer*k." I cursed after Ajax hopped on his jeep and left.

He always left me alone. Always.

Maybe it was the smoke that caused my eyes to blur.
