Chapter 8 The past always catches up with us, PART 1

FLASHBACK 5 YEARS AGO

When my brother Ulises and my mother died in that tragedy, my father changed with me; he became more protective and even adopted my cousin Enrique since he had been orphaned, and the idea of him living with us did not displease me.

I always saw him as another brother, years passed, and I continued training with the bow; as my mother taught me, Enrique insisted that I should also train with our warriors and learn to defend myself.

Dad refused because he told him that I didn't have to do it; he would always protect me. I trusted that this was true and that it could happen to me; surrounded by people who love me, I was in no danger.

A year ago, my father invited the Alpha of West Rock and his son Kenzo to our annual tournament celebration; that was the first time I saw him, with long blond hair that shone in the sun, his eyes a deep blue and his lips that I couldn't help but admire.

All the young girls in our Clan looked at him like idiots, and I couldn't blame them. I was one of them because Kenzo would be the future alpha of his Clan; my father agreed that he would stay with us for a while.

To train and learn, I never understood why his father let him stay since he could have trained in his Clan, but at that time, I didn't care why as long as he was close to me.

Kenzo began to be more attentive to me; he was very kind and detailed. He tried to spend as much time as possible by my side, and our relationship became closer over time.

Until one day, he confessed his feelings to me, and I was pleased about that.

We were in the training area. I was making some shots with my bow. He had just finished training with Enrique; he came up to me and stood behind me, hugging me and helping me center my arrow to hit the target.

"Remember to center a little more and feel the wind; you should always wait for the exact moment and watch the wind around you," he said close to my ear, and that only made me more nervous, having him so close.

"I didn't know you like archery; I could swear you even find it boring," I told him as I smiled and released my arrow, which hit right on target without trying too hard.

He started to show me a mischievous smile. He told me, "I haven't practiced it for years; the truth is that I find it boring; I'm sorry to confess it, the only attraction that this sport gives me is to admire you practicing it."

It was not the first time that Kenzo confessed to me that he liked it; he had often declared it, but he never took a step further until today.

He approached like a hunter to his prey, his hands were placed on the sides of my face, and he looked at me with those blue sparkles that hypnotized me completely; without waiting for it, he joined his lips to mine, and my eyes closed without ever resisting him.

That was my first kiss, and it was what I always imagined, his lips were sweet and fleshy when our lips began a dance that was stealing my breath; I was taken by surprise when he intensely put his tongue in my mouth, my body trembled a little before that invasion on his part.

However, I gave in to his desires; that intimacy between us was magical; Kenzo parted from my lips and kissed my forehead with such tenderness that it made me shiver.

"Gina, I can't hide it anymore, I love you, and I know you know it, not a single moment goes by without me showing you how important you are to me, I know you are still 15 years old, that your wolf has not manifested, but we don't know if she will in the future or if you will have your mate".

"That doesn't matter to me, I love you, and I want you to be mine, mate or not; I choose you for me, tell me that you accept me," he told me with such sincerity in his words. I was so in love with him that I didn't think about it too much and accepted him.

Even though we lived together for a year, for me, it was as if more time had passed; he was so affectionate with me, so protective, he cared for me too much, no one could get close to me without receiving an annihilating look from him.

One day, Kenzo decided to talk to my father and express his intentions to make me his mate; Kenzo wanted to mark me. He told me that he didn't want to wait any longer if he didn't mind finding his mate. There was no reason to delay our union if I didn't have one.

As expected, my father was furious; he felt betrayed by the trust he had placed in Kenzo and his father since our relationship was secret precisely to prevent my father from asking him to leave and not see us again.

That day my father and Enrique complained to Kenzo; they accused him of wanting to trap me to get the throne; that was ridiculous. He would never do something like that. He loved me, and I loved him; that's when he asked to leave our territory. I did the only thing a woman in love could do, and that is to face the world for the man you love.

I walked into my father's office determined, "NO! He won't go because then I will go with him," I growled, looking at my father and taking Kenzo's hand in support.

He looked at me, smiling proudly at my decision to support our relationship, even standing up to my father.

"You are crazy, you have lost your mind, Gina, you don't know him, you don't know who he really is; you are still a silly girl," Enrique said, and his words were like razors stabbing straight into my heart.

"Georgina, you will not join Kenzo; if he loves you so much, he can wait until you turn 18, that's all I ask of you, daughter, you are still very young; if he accepts, I have no problem," said my father and the truth was right I was still very young. Hence, the proposal seemed sensible, and I accepted it.

Kenzo looked at me seriously, I could see that waiting was not something in his plans, but I didn't want to give him much importance.

"Thank you, dad, then you accept our relationship."

"As long as Kenzo waits the time I ask and respects you, I have no problem," said my father, and I hugged him excited because I would finally be with Kenzo, officially in front of everyone.

As expected, Enrique was furious and approached Kenzo upset, "I will be watching you, I don't trust you, and if you hurt her, I swear it will be the last thing you will do," he left my father's office and left quite furious, I didn't understand the reason for Enrique's words. Lately, they had stopped being friends. Even though I asked Kenzo why he avoided the subject mentioning that it was not something important.

The next day Kenzo told me that he had a meeting with his father. We could not see each other until the next day; I took the opportunity to practice my archery; there was an old cabin near a hill on the border of our territory, it was abandoned.

I decided to go and practice a little at a distance. Still, when I was about to arrive, I was surprised to see Kenzo's car and a blonde woman getting out of it, which I recognized as Bianca, Enrique's ex-girlfriend.

As I approached, the sounds of desire and lust could be heard; as I looked through the window, my world crumbled into a thousand pieces.
