Chapter 5 It might be her

Samuel

When I got back to my pack, I had a lot in my mind, and I needed to be alone. So, I went to my office and sat there thinking about everything the witch told me. Why would my parents hide the fact that they are royal? The people have been waiting for their prince to come and take over for years now. Yet, my father stayed in hiding. Why would he do that to his people? If my sister is the princess and was supposed to be home then do my parents know where she is, did they send her into hiding?

I had a lot of questions but no answers; I thought of my mother and how fragile she is now because of her illness. I stood up and walked out of my office heading to my mother's room. I find one of the omega's helping her eat, it's sad to see her like this. When she sees me, she gives a small smile? "Mother." I greet and she beckons me to come to her side. "Sam, you look troubled, what is the matter?" she always knew me too well.

"I have questions, mother, I don't know if you have the strength to answer them," I tell her and she nods. "Things have not been going well in the pack, ten of my warriors died mysteriously and the fields have dried up. We have also lost a lot of clients in the company and if we don't get them back, then we will have to declare bankruptcy." I tell her and I see the sadness in her eyes. "I met with the witch today since I thought their kind might be responsible and she told me something I don't want to believe." I look at see her reaction.

"She told you about your father and I., didn't she?" I was hoping the witch was wrong, but it doesn't look like it, I nod to my mother, and she sighs. "Now you know why your sister must be found, not only to help with my health but the pack and our kind. The gods and the Moon Goddess angry with us Samuel and bringing her back will save us all." She tells me and I don't know what to think. "Why did you and father hide who you are for this long?" I ask and she sighs.

"The people responsible for the royal family's death are still out there, the only person who will bring peace to our land and defeat these people is your sister. The prophecy says she is our savior as well as our doom. We failed to bring her back when the time came and now our doom is starting. Only she can't reverse everything is has already happened." She tells me and I wish they have told me this sooner. Then I would have sent my people to help my father find her.

"Where did you send her?" I believe they sent her away to keep her safe and if they did, then father should know where she is. "We did not send her anywhere; we were planning to when the pack was attacked, and she was taken. We have looked for her for a year and could not find her. We don't know who took her, but she must be found for the survival of this pack, and our kind depends on her being found and brought home." Bloody hell! Where the hell is father going to find her then?

"I will send people our to help father find her, do you know anything that can help with the search?" besides that glowing birthmark father has been telling me about, that is what I wanted to say but this woman is already sick for me to be talking to her like that. "There is only one distinct feature of your sisters that no one else has and am sure your father has told you about it." not the glowing birthmark please, no one has ever had that.

"I can see it in your eyes that you know what I am talking about, it's not a myth Samuel, I know how you are about such things but in this case, it's the truth, look for a woman with a birthmark like that, it runs from her neck all the way to her left shoulder, it glows in the sun. You will never miss it for it is big, find her son before it is too late, our survival depends on it." now I have no choice but to believe this but where do we start looking?

Am sure father has been to all the other packs looking for her, could she be living with humans? "I will do everything in my power to find her, rest now mother," I tell her and she nods. She looks like she has aged a few years, this illness is eating away at her slowly. I stand up and leave her room going back to my office, just as I take a seat my beta Derick comes in. "Alpha." He greets with a small bow.

"Yes, Derick, everything okay with the campsite? We don't want anything going wrong because that place might be our only source of income since everything else is going to hell." I ask running my hand through my head frustrated by this whole thing. "I came looking for you earlier, what did the witch say?" he asks, and I wish he didn't. "That this is no accident, and her kind did not do this. She says my sister must be found because she is the one that will help with all this." He looks at me confused.

"My sister is the royal princess, and my father is the long-lost prince that survived in the war many years ago." He looks shocked, but he doesn't know half of it. "She also told me that the survival of the pack and our kind depends on her being brought back home. We must help father find her Derick or we are all doomed. More will continue to die, and we will face more drought until she is brought back." I tell him and he sighs then takes a seat in front of me.

"What would you like me to do?" he asks. "We have to send someone to help father find her," I tell him and he nods. "Do you have any description of her?" I don't want to say this, but it might be the only way to find her. "She has a birthmark that runs from her neck all the way to her left shoulder, my parents say it glows in the sun. I know it's not much to go on, but it is all we have." Derick looks shocked.

"Alpha, I think your sister has come home on her own." I straighten on my chair. "What do you mean?" I ask him and he shakes his head chuckling. "Remember when I said I came looking for you earlier?" he asks, and I nod. "Well, I wanted to tell you about one of the campers Tania, the woman has magic or something like that because everywhere she goes things come to life. First, she walked through the cornfields going to the river and the corn came back to life. Then I took her to the garden and the same thing happened. Get this, she didn't know she can do that until I pointed it out to her and to top it off. She has the same birthmark you just described, at first, I thought it was a tattoo but clearly, it's not. The princess is home." I stand up from my seat not believing what I was hearing.

"Derick, this is not the time to be playing with me like this," I tell him with my heart beating like an African drum in my chest. "Come with me and I will show you proof of what I am saying alpha." He tells me also standing up from his chair, I don't say anything but lead the way outside then we shift into our wolf forms, and he leads the way to the cornfields. I can see them from afar, the corn that was dead and dry now looks green and healthy.

'This can't be happening.' I say to my beta through the mind link. 'You have not seen anything yet, follow me.' I do as told and follow him. He leads the way to the flower garden, and I don't have to be told when I see the once dry garden with withering flowers was now looking breath-taking like it used to. All the flowers are showing off their beauty looking magnificent. 'Oh Goddess, Derick, I have to see this human girl.' I tell him.

If she is who we think she is, then my mother will be healed, and everything will go back to normal in the pack. 'I think it's best to see her tomorrow, she was pretty shaken up after I pointed out what she can do, seeing her now will make things worse.' I sighed, he is right, we don't want to scare her away. 'Listen, warriors, make sure to keep watch at the campsite, don't let anyone leave.' I open the mind link to the warriors on patrol.

I don't want her getting scared and leaving during the night. I don't want to lose her when we have just found her. 'Let's go back, I have to call father to come back home.' Derick says nothing but leads the way back to the packhouse. As we run back my wolf wants us to go back, he is agitated, and that is bothering me.
