Damon's story

So far, I have been here for a week, and this company is nowhere near what I needed it to be. That idiot is running it into the ground. While he was at a so-called meeting, I had his office cleaned out. And informed security that they were to give him his stuff and tell him he was no longer allowed on the property.

His meeting for work I found out was actually a meeting with his bookie. He was stealing money from my company to pay off his debts well not anymore. It's time that I let everyone here know who I truly am. I just hope they aren't mad once they find out.

I was so worried that Jacey would be mad at me. I don't know why I cared but I did. She was one of the very few people I knew would have my back in this company. She was damn good at what she did. Hell, she was good enough to be a lawyer. I should talk to her and see why she hasn't gone and finished law school.

One day with a little encouragement from me she could be a partner. I called a mandatory meeting so I could let everyone know what was going on and that some things would be changing.

Before I told anyone else, I called Jacey into my office because I wanted her to be the first one to know. When I told her to say she was shocked was an understatement, but she also seemed happy about it.

"Does this mean were all going to lose our job?"

"Well, some people will be, but not you. Far from it actually I want to promote you. You are far too valuable to just be an assistant."

"Thank you I have worked her for a long time, and no one has ever noticed that I was the one doing all the work for everyone else."

"What do you mean?"

"I did all the paperwork. I planned their cases the reason we won anything was well because of me."

"We'll all of this is about to change. I am curious why you never got your license to practice law?"

"I have my license just no one cared enough to make me a lawyer they only wanted me as an assistant, yet I did everything."

"That is another thing that is changing as of today you are a partner in this firm."

"Wait what?"

"You heard me. Now let's go tell everyone the good news."

I walked out of my office with Jacey right next to me and couldn't have been happier. This felt so right.
