Chapter 2

Jacey's story

Jacey stayed up all night pretending to be someone she wasn't. She felt alive for the first time in her life. She got so caught up in her fake life that she was late for her real-life job. She quickly got all her papers put in her briefcase and took the fastest shower of her life. She just threw something on she didn't care what she looked like it's not like anyone noticed her any way not unless they needed her to do their work.

"Jacey so glad you could make it. I'd like you to meet our newest partner to the firm Mr. Marino. I have a meeting I need to get to so can you please show him to his office Jacey. Oh, and since he hasn't been able to get an assistant, yet you will be his for now. If you guys need anything just let me know."

"Ok right this way Mr. Marino."

"Please call me Damon calling me Mr. Marino makes me feel so old."

"Ok here is your office Mr. I mean Damon if you need anything I will be at the desk right out front."

I hurried to the desk and let out the breath in which I was holding. That had to be the sexiest man I have ever seen, and here I am looking for like crap. Oh well it's not like a man like that would ever notice me any way. I was feeling so down that I checked my email to see if I got any more responses. I was shocked to see I got a ton more emails. I got one that caught my eye from a guy named Lonely Lawyer looking for love. So, I clicked on it to see what he had to say.

"Hello, I don't usually do this kind of thing, but my friends told me about this site and since I don't get out much, I figured I would give it a try. So, let's see about me I am a 30-year-old Lawyer working here in Colorado. I don't have any kids but would love to have kids with the right person. I have one brother that I am close too. I'm a bit of a workaholic but when I do relax, I love to read or watch movies. I don't know what I'll find on this site, but I'm looking for my soul mate could that be you?"

I hurried and sent him a reply because he just sounded perfect. I heard a noise behind me, so I hurried and signed off and turned around.

"Is there something I can get you Damon?"

"Um yes I was wondering if you could order us some lunch and then could you help me look over a few of these cases and catch me up."

"Um sure what would you like?"

"Oh, just order me whatever you were going to have."

Great I brought my lunch with me today, so I brought my home-made lasagna. There's enough for the two of us so I called Gino's and ordered some garlic bread and salads. I also got some of their sweet tea. I hurried to warm up the lasagna and once the other stuff came, I put everything on plates and carried them in.

"Thank you so much for this let me get these for you."

I went back out and got our sweet teas and then set across from him at the small table in his office.

"It's not a problem just doing my job."

"Wow this lasagna is amazing I don't remember Gino's ever being this good and I eat there a lot."

"That's because I only ordered the garlic bread and salad from them, I brought the lasagna from home it's my family recipe."

"Wow your one hell of a cook."

I blushed as I said thank you. He was the first person to ever compliment me like that and it felt wonderful.
