Chapter 3 Betrayed

"Wow so I get a nickname now" they both laughed, followed by another seconds of silence "I should get going, what would you be doing all week?" he asked concerned, "sleeping, waking up and eating, bathing would be if I remember". "You don't write anymore?" he asked,

"I can't do much with my fingers after the accident I had".

"I could come type for you when you are ready so you can resume work" he said.

"No, I don't want anything from him but the house which came in my name, I don't want the company, he should have it, I have lived under his shadow for so long no one even knows I wrote those movies" she sighed with so much pain.

"It's fine, I would come from five o'clock in the evening, is that okay?" he asked smiling. "Sure", she replied. He stood up ready to leave, as he walked him to the door they shared a glance at each other and hugged briefly, exchanged goodbyes and left. As she closed the door she ran to the window to peep at him going till she couldn't see him, she looked at the papers and smiled "the sorrow may last for a night time my joy cometh in the morning" she looked around and started arranging everywhere, had her bath for the first time in six days. Gave her natural curls some good loving treatment, oh wow she was so pretty.

She got to her room, paced around for a while, knelt down, clasped her hands and closed her eyes saying "God, my heavenly father, I know you can hear me, I feel so much pain inside like I am going to die" she chuckles amidst tears "forgive me, heal me and grant me peace" she was crying this time, she laid on her bed and slept like a baby for the first time in two weeks.

Meanwhile, Kelvin went to see his parents, seeing them fighting each day wasn't a good sight but listening to Ella talk changed him, he was ready to make it work any which way. The compound was filled with dead leaves from the trees planted and needed good cleaning. No one was taking care of it since he moved out. His dad opened the front door on hearing the sound of the cab which dropped Kelvin.

"Hey my boy is back", he walked up to his dad and they exchanged hugs with smiles on their face, "Darling, who is at the door?" Kelvin's mum asked from the inside. "It's our boy" Kelvin's dad replied. "K!" she yelled walking to the door in a hurry. "Kelvin" she said amidst tears "my baby boy" she said hugging him tightly.

"Mum you are squeezing me" he said, she released him and he used his left hand to wipe the tears of her face "mum I have missed you" he said as they both hugged each other. They got in and he ate so well, he had missed his mum's cooking. He was surprised how much the relationship between his dad and mum had improved. At night his parents came into the room, "Dad, Mum is everything okay? It's midnight" he said a bit worried as to why they came into his room by that time, "no worries my boy" his dad said as they both sat down on his bed.

"We are so sorry we were not always there when you needed us the most" his mother said,

"I hope you give us another chance his dad said, "I want to be a good father to my boy". "Dad, mum I never thought I would see this day, I love you and mum so much and I am moving in first thing tomorrow I promise" he said with so much gladness in his heart. They all hug, "lets pray together" his mother said, they all went on their knees and prayed in unison together in heart and spirit, bade their goodnights and had a goodnight rest.

The divorce process wasn't a sweet one for Ella, she cried each day before going to bed hoping each day goes away with the pain. But it was fresh every single day like the morning sun. Kelvin was so punctual, every day by 5pm he was there to type for her as she says the stories and directs him on the way the scripts should be written, he was like a ray of light in her world of darkness, she began to blossom again, going to church happily and feeling fresh after every message. The pain was still in her heart having to look at John being so cold to her like they never shared a thing as the divorce was finalized, the house brought memories she didn't want to linger on those memories. Their separation was finally over and she gave everything she worked for to John Richie, JR which he was fondly called. Starting afresh was all she wanted to do. Kelvin was super supportive and within weeks, they wrote great stories. Oh, life was sweet again!

Rainy Thursday, Kelvin drove in and parked right in front of the house, she was trying to get dressed to see the movie war room. Getting her clothes out of the wardrobe, she bumped into some files having John's name on it, she looked through and saw it was his family's house papers, he would need this she thought to herself. Kelvin gave her a drop call on her phone to signal that he was waiting for her. She ironed her dress quickly and got ready. She stepped out of the house looking like cake, "wow, my life would be settled when I have you beside me as my other half" Kelvin said admiring how beautiful she looked, "thank you" she said smiling so sheepishly. "Ready to go?"

"Yes, but can we stop at John's. I need to drop this file for him, stumbled on his family's house document, hope we won't be too late?"

"Not at all we have twenty minutes to spare". They drove listening to beautiful song and singing along. Kelvin parked right in front of the house, as she alighted to the door, she knocked several times but no response, she tried opening with the handle and it wasn't locked so she got in, she saw John and their account officer who was heavy and was due soon, coming out of one of the rooms laughing. It took some seconds before they realized she was there. She was beyond shocked, she couldn't believe her eyes, before John could say a thing, she dropped the document on the floor and ran out screaming "No! No!!, No!!!". Kelvin saw her running, she ran past him and he went out of the car and ran after her not knowing what she had seen "Ella!" He called.

There was an upcoming vehicle, before the driver could pull the brakes she was already right in front of him, it was too late and she had been hit, she fell to the floor seriously bleeding. Kelvin couldn't believe his eyes. He ran to her, but she was in the pool of her own blood.
