Chapter 7 The party

"Good night Dad". Daniel greeted before rushing into his room. "Good night son" Mr kanayor replied "Why are you in a haste to sleep? Gosh!! This boy".. once Daniel was safely in his room he heaved a sigh of relief as he quietly locked the door and changed to his party wear, he gently moved to the window and opened it slowly to avoid making the slightest sound . He threw his shoes outside first and it made a thud, Mr Kanayor thought he heard something so he went to the window to look but when he didn't see any body he locked it and went back to continue watching his TV.

Daniel swallowed hard as he threw him self across his room's window, try as much as possible to land on his toes, when he did he picked up his shoes and ran towards the party venue..

Veronica's bar was the place to be that night as it seemed to be the hottest place in Ikoyi, Red and blue lights shone in various places as the students danced with vigor and sang along to Ruga's music "Bounce", the girls swung their waist from the left to right as the sweaty guys battled to follow their moves with passion in their eyes. Daniel entered into the party and was hailed by the whole students for venturing to make it in attendance despite how strict his father was, "hope the principal is not aware of this party o" Emeka asked him. "He's not", Daniel answered absent mindedly while searching for chima with the side of his eyes. Just when he looked left wards he saw chima coming towards him with a smile on his face.

Buju was on the other side of the hall chilling with his team mates when Nene walked in.... Gosh she looked so beautiful that night with her short black gown which stopped 4 inches above her knee, "your cue" shouted one of the boys to buju as buju left them and walked towards Nene. He hugged her and kissed her round cheek as he told her how beautiful she looked, she blushed a little and appreciated him, "congratulations on you victory today" she added, buju smiled broadly "it's our victory not just mine so let's celebrate" he said as he dragged her to the dance floor and started dancing with her, she laughed loudly like a kid.

Chima took Daniel to the roof of the night club."what are we doing here" Daniel asked admist chucles. "Well you'll see" chima said. He told Daniel how he felt free around him and wanted to always be with him and asked him if he felt the same way about him, Daniel stood there with his mouth open wide "chima I don't understand what you are saying would you mind explaining things more to me?" Daniel asked confused. "Maybe this would explain things to you" chima said as he grabbed Daniel's head and kissed him passionately.

Back at the party as the danced happily Rachael walked in so elegantly dressed that all eyes turned towards her direction including buju.. "damn she's so hot" he thought, but he was disappointed because she came in with another guy, the guy was handsomely built with beards on his mandible, he had broad shoulders and looked like he'd been working out alot, he did look like anyone that attended their school... Perhaps he was her neighbor from another school. Buju felt a wave of jealousy run through his veins but he kept his cool and concentrated on Nene his girlfriend who had noticed him staring quite hard at Rachael, "is that bestie admiration or list?" She asked. "Who me? Oh .. no I wasn't staring at her prrr, I was just wondering where I know the guy she came in with from" he covered up. " Well forget about them and let's continue our dance" she said.

Around 11:30pm Adeoye walked into the party with some guys that where holding some powdered substance, the boys walked biskly to some students at various corners and did quick exchange of the substance for money, "wait is that drug?" Buju asked Nene, "I hope not " she replied. Just then there was an argument at the back between Adeoye and a dark muscular guy "how can you just walk in here and move products when my guys are already selling stuff here?" The guy asked . "Because it's my school dummy I have the right to do whatever I want" Adeoye replied. Paaaaw!! Sounded the slap that landed on adeoye's face, next there was a great scuffle as boys began to break bottles and stab themselves from various angles.
