CHAPTER 4

Elle call woke me up at six in the morning reminding about the shopping, I stood up, played Acapulco by Jason Derulo.

I took a shower, brushed my teeth and wore my uniform.

I packed my hair into a ponytail, carried my bag pack and I made my way downstairs. I saw Sandy.

"I was just about to call you for breakfast"

"You don't need to do that again"

I made my way to the dining room, I meet Mr West watching news on the plasma in the living room.

"Good morning "

I said as I hugged him.

"Good morning sweetie, how was your night?"

"Great, your night?"

"Good"

He brought out a card.

"Here, this is my credit card, I will get yours ready today, use mine today for shopping"

He gave me his credit card.

"Thank you"

"You are welcome, go and have breakfast before you get late for school"

I made my way to the dining room.

I saw Lucy coming downstairs – I didn't want Lucy to start any drama, any time we are together something always happen.

I went to the dining room, ate my breakfast and bid Mr West farewell and went to the car after few minutes, Lucy came into the car, the driver took off. we didn't say a word till we got to school.

I saw Elle at the entrance of the building, looking at something on her phone , I approached her

"Good morning Elle'

She noticed me

"Morning"

She hugged me

"Happy birthday!"

"Awww, thank you so much , we have a long day ahead of us , let's be prepared"

We went inside.

Classes started, we went to history, biology, English and Math class.

We went to the cafeteria at lunch time ,took the tray of food sat down at the spot we sat yesterday.

"Ok, what do you think about this dress?"

She gave me her phone, it was a sliver jump suit.

"It's look nice"

"You are wearing that to my birthday party '

'me? I can't wear that '

'why?'

'I don't like it'

'you just said it a few minutes ago that it's look nice'

'I thought it was for you'

She laughed

'my parents already bought the dress I will wear, we are going to the mall because of you'

'I thought it was for the both of us. My dad gave me his credit card for whatever I want to buy'

'wow , I didn't even think of that ,after classes meet me at the swimming pool'

'ok'

We finished lunch and went back to class

Classes ended. I called Mr West and told him I will go for shopping in Elle's car.

I made my way to the swimming pool, I met Elle and her boyfriend at the edge of the swimming pool, I approached them.

"Hey Sophie, you are here, meet my boyfriend James , James meet my new friend Sophie"

"It's nice to meet you"

"It's nice to meet you too"

We shake hands.

"I have to go now babe, i will see you tonight"

He kissed her on her forehead and he left.

"Let's begin"

She grabbed my hand and we exit the swimming pool.

We left in Elle's car.

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

Elle asked as she start driving.

"Do, I don't"

"Wow, that's hard to believe, you are pretty and you don't have a boyfriend. Which kind of dress should we go for?"

"I don't know"

"Ok, let's get to the mall first"

We arrived at the mall, we got inside the mall- I saw different type of dresses.

I took some and tried them on, Elle didn't like them.

"Oh my................."

She looked at one of the dinner gown at the mall.

"What is it?"

"it's so beautiful"

She stood up, removed the dress from where it is and gave to me to try it on.

I tried it on.

"Yes, that's the dress"

I took off the dress and we made our way to the cashier and paid for the dress.

It was six in the evening.

"Will you go and come back or you will come to my house?"

"I will go home and come to your house later"

"Ok, let me drive you home"

"No!"

If she drives me home, she is going to find put am Lucy sister and Lucy will be so mad

"I will just call the driver, you can go home and get ready birthday girl, Elle, is it ok for me to sleepover at your house tonight? I can't go back home it will be late'

"Yea, it's fine"

"Thanks, bye"

"Ok , bye, don't be late, I will send you my address'

"Ok"

We hugged and she left.

I called my dad to send the driver to pick me up, he came few minutes later and we left the mall.

We got home, I greeted Mr West and went to my room, took shower and dressed up.

Elle sent me her address.

I Head downstairs.

"I'm leaving"

"Look at my adorable daughter, you look so pretty In that dress"

"Thank you"

"Be careful"

"I will not be coming home tonight, I will sleep at her place, I will leave for school from her place tomorrow"

"Ok"

"Here is your credit card"

I gave the credit card back to him.

"Ok, your's will be delivered in the morning"

"Ok"

"Bye"

"Bye sweetie"

I hugged him and left.

"This is where you are taking me to"

I showed the driver the address Elle sent to my phone.

"Ok, Miss Sophie"

"Ok, let's go"

I arrived at Elle's birthday party at eight.

People already arrived, most people there are from hilltop.

From the view of the people that came, Elle seems popular.

I alighted from the car watching the environment .

After a few minutes- I was about make my way into the building then I noticed Lucy laughing with her minions, why is she here? What did I expect ?

She is the captain of the cheerleaders, I'm just going to avoid her for the rest of the night.

I entered the party, I couldn't find Elle-I sat down on one of the chairs, took my phone and texted her I'm at her party, she reply with a happy emoji and said she will be down in a minute.

Elle came downstairs, I approached her.

"You look stunning"

"You too"

"Follow me to my room"

"Ok"

"Don't you wear makeup?"

"No"

"You will apply tonight"

She grabbed me and went to her room.

Elle room is big, but my room was bigger.

"Sit down in front of the mirror"

I took my seat

"These are make ups, where are you from? You don't know how to open an account, you don't know how to downloads movies and songs, you don't apply makeup. Lucky for you, I am here for you, let's get started"

"I don't think this is a good.........."

"Shh, you don't want to ruin it"

She finished the make-over.

"Now take a look"

I opened my eyes.

"It's beautiful"

"Yea, it is, it's almost time, let's go"

We went downstairs.

The guestwere laughing and drinking, Elle took the microphone.

"Hello everyone, I'm so glad you could all make it, thank you so much. Special thanks to my parents for supporting me this far, thank you so let's get this party started"

The Dj hit the music, she dropped the microphone and left the stage, I approached her.

"Happy birthday once again"

"Thank you, I need to welcome the guests, let's do it together"

"Ok"

We welcomed them and she introduced me to them.

"Remain one more person, let's welcome Lucy"

Lucy? She will be angry.

"Actually, I need to go to the toilet, go ahead, where is the toilet?"

"Use my room"

"Ok"

I left, went to the toilet, came out.

I slipped and almost fell, someone caught me before I could, I opened my eyes, It was Ethan's twin brother, James.

"Are you ok?"

"Yes, thanks"

I stood up.

"You are so pretty"

He said under his breath

"I mean, I have not seen you around"

"I'm a new student at hilltop high school"

"Oh ok, I also attend that school, my name is James, quarter back two of the bulldogs, nice to meet you"

We shaked hands, I went downstairs.

"Sophie, we have not had any fun, let's dance"

Elle grabbed me

"I don't know how to dance"

"Come on, I'll teach you"

Elle saw Ethan and the guy I met in Elle's room, James, she called them to dance with us.

"Happy birthday Elle"

James said to Elle

"Thanks"

"Come on babe, let's dance"

Ethan said to Elle.

James kept staring at me the whole time we were dancing.

The party ended at almost midnight, everyone left.

"I'm so tired, let's go to my room, the guest room will be a mess now"

"Ok"

Elle took a shower, brushed her teeth and wore her nightwear and I did the same.

We lied down and faced each other.

"I feel so sleepy, I think James like you, I mean like, like you"

"Huh"

I said confused.

"He kept staring at you the whole time we were dancing"

"I think you are mistaken"

"Whatever, let's go to sleep, we're going to school tomorrow"

We slept off.
