Chapter 5 4

Rick

The sound of a scream turned my attention to the cave, the one I passed while going on this pointless journey.

I don't know how I got here, I've been appearing on this same path since like forever.

Sometimes I'd wonder why or how I'm made to go through this hell. I'm sure today's dream won't be any different. I followed the scream and got to the cave.

But unlike my usual dream, I could see a bright light emanating from inside the cave. I was dumbstruck because it has never happened before.

Usually, I'd just walk around this pointless path and then wake up but today feels different. I'm determined to find out why there's a change in today's pattern and what the source of the light is.

I walked towards the light like an hypnotized person and what I saw got me rooted to the spot. I could see a white wolf with a blue eyes staring intently at me.

I swallowed the lump in my throat and walked towards the wolf. I feel like something is pushing me towards the beautiful animal. I knelt in front of it and carressed its beautiful fur.

This is the first time I'm seeing something like this in my dream and I absolutely don't wanna wake up. I feel connected to this animal, I feel like I've known it all my life yet I've never met it or seen it.

I've always been unlucky, since I lost my wolf at a young age well all I heard is that I was screaming on that stormy night and out clan seer diagnosed me. He broke the sad news to my parents and I bet they were devastated. I have alpha blood in me and yet I can't transform.

"Without my wolf, I'm nothing!" I thought as I bask in the beauty of this wolf. I don't know how many minutes I spent just caressing the fur, but not long after,I felt a presence in my mind and I heard the sweetest voice ever "FIND ME!!" and with that statement, I woke up.

It's morning already, I immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower. This is my first day at college and I don't intend on going late. I have to attend the human college well since I'm technically a human, I've been one since I was five.

I brushed my teeth hurriedly staring intently into the mirror. There's no changes in me. "FIND ME!!" That words kept on echoing in my ears. I'd have to tell Abhi what I see now. They have been asking me if I've been seeing anything unusual but I keep on saying "No!" well cause I've never seen anything unusual but yesternight? That was definitely unusual. The wolf's image is stuck in my head, even the feel of it's fur. I shook my head to clear off the haze, rinsed my mouth and went back into the room to dress up.

I might not have my wolf but the wolf gene in me gave me the opportunity to be handsome. I combed my jet black hair backwards giving myself a bad boy look.

I've always had girls looking at me twice while in high school. I don't have any unusual eye colour or something but most of my hookups have always complimented my eyes. Most of the unmated girls in the pack wants to be seen with me or rather get into my pants.

I guess that's why am being sent to the human school. "Oklahoma state academy!" I wonder what it holds for me.

I descended the stairs quietly as I try not to alert them of my presence. Well that's not gonna happen cause of their heightened senses. I walked into the dining and sat in my chair.

"Good morning!!" My sister Bree was the first to greet me.

"Morning baby sis, pass me the bacon!!" I said filling my plate with food.

The only thing I have in common with my family is my voracious appetite. I heard werewolves eat a lot cause of their strength. I'm not a wolf but I eat twice as much as them.

Bridget was born two years after I was born so you can correctly guess that she's shifted already while I can't even shift. I watched my dad as he creases his brows in concentration at the papers in his hands.

As the alpha of the Blackmoon pack, he has a lot of things on his plates even though he has been training me as the next alpha, I still feel like I'm missing something.

"Good morning Alpha!!" Abhi said bowing his head in greeting.

Dad looked up to see Abhi surprise written on his face. Well that's mirroring the same look on all our faces. Abhi has never come to our place early in the morning before.

Normally, we are suppose to dine with the Betas and the gammas but I don't do well with crowds. The first time it was done, it ended in calamity.

"What's going on Abhi?" Dad's baritone voice filled the room. I could see mom patting his laps comfortingly under the table. They've always been on the edge well cause of my "CASE" as I always call it.

I concentrated on my food and pretended as if I wasn't interested in what he's got to say. I mean what more can he say. There's nothing new from him.

"There's a way for Rick to get back his wolf!!" He announced after a tensed minute.

I looked at him in surprise. I knew there's gotta be an important reason for him to be here this morning but I never thought it was this. I couldn't speak but dad's voice broke the suspended silence.

"How?? What's the way Abhi??" Dad asked, his voice a little bit shaky at the end. I turned to look at dad in surprise. I've never seen him this shaken up, I guess the fact that I couldn't shift had put him on the edge for a long time.

Abhi shifted his attention to me and we both locked gazes for a while before he spoke up" all he has to do is to find her. Find her and you'll find your lost half!!" He finished.
