19 years later (Oklahoma Texas)

Sylvia

It has been raining, for three days in a row without pause or stopping. And it's obviously getting on my nerves.

Gosh,I'm so tired of staying indoors,

I need fresh air.

I could have sneaked out but that also seemed impossible. If the rain could just stop for an hour or two, I'd be grateful to whoever is controlling them.

"Hey Livia, still upset?"Tess asked.

She has been my childhood friend, companion and sister. Well you could name it but she's actually my sister.

I don't know my dad, well judging by the fact that I lost my memories when I was a little girl. I'm 2 years older than her but trust me you wouldn't notice.

I don't really know much, but all I know is my name is Sylvia, I'm 22 and I'm from Oklahoma. Well, I also love sneaking out. Don't get me wrong, I might be an adult but I'm not allowed to go anywhere. Plus where would I go in the woods.

"Zoned out on me!" Tess said throwing the pillow at me.

"No Tess, I didn't!" I said standing up from the bed.

I moved to the window to enjoy the rainy view.

"Yes you did Livia,I wonder what you always think of anyways guess what? "she said sounding a little bit too excited.

"You finally decided to tell the handsome boy next door that you're crushing on him?!" I answered half heartedly still staring outside, faraway into the woods.

I do wonder why we are living in the woods.

"Stop picking on me Livia, you obviously know I don't have a crush and lest you forget,we don't have a neighbor!" she said.

I can feel her standing behind me and knowing Tess,she definitely have her hands on her hips and glaring daggers at me "well I'm just trying to be optimistic,who knows you night have a crush!" I finished turning to face her and yep I'm right, she's definitely staring daggers at me."okay what!" I asked sounding serious.

"Well .....Mum will tell you during dinner" she smirked devilishly.

"Tessa Anna Throne!!" I yelled jumping on her unexpectedly "you dare trick me!!" I said balancing myself on her and began to tickle her.

Her laughter filled the room as she tried to pry my hands off her stomach or even get away from me."you aren't going nowhere girly!!" I said as I continue to tickle her.

"Okay girls, that's enough" Mom's sweet voice filled the room.

I rolled away from Tess who immediately ran to hide behind Mom.

Tess takes after Mum much more than I. She has her blue eyes, her blonde hair even her stature. They could pass off as twins while me!! well,!I'm more like an extraordinary enigma of a human. I could see my reflection in the mirror as I faced it completely.

I could see my almost white hair, followed by my very rare eye color. While Mom and Tess's eyes are blue, I have grey eye color matching with my hair. And my skin. Hmm don't actually let me go there.

"Dinners ready!!" Mom announced bringing me back to my surroundings.

"What's for dinner?" Tess asked excitedly. She has always love food.

I wonder how its possible to have that kind of body.

"Grilled turkey and uhhhhh" Mom trailed off making both Tess and I ecstatic "well you'll see" She finally said.

"Well I'm definitely seeing now!!" Tess announced rushing to the dining.

Mom smiled at her childish behavior "come here, ou don't want to leave Tess all by herself there or you know what might happen!!" She said winking.

And its true, I might end up starving cause of Tess's voracious appetite "let's go Mom!!" I said smiling lightly as she held me by the waist and we both head to the dining.

Halfway into dinner, and trust me, Tess already ate 3 plates and still counting.

I smiled loving this feeling of oneness.Yes we might be living in the woods, but I'm glad I've got these two.

Mom cleared her throat and I looked up to see Tess trying her best to hide her anxiety.

I've never seen Tess this worried, is it what mom's going to say or what.

Well, it didn't take me long to find out as Mom dropped the bombshell.

"You're both going to Oklahoma State academy!!" She said

"What!!!" I said spitting out the residues of turkey in my mouth "What do you mean mom?" I asked staring at my mother Unbelievably.

I have every right to be shocked. I've never been to any college,neither I nor Tess. We've always been home schooled by Mom. We don't even know how the outside world looks, occasionally, I'd wonder why we are being home schooled but mostly why we are living in the woods. But no matter how hard I cracked my brain, I still don't see any reason why.

"Well its because its time!!" Mom answered.

"Time for what?" I asked clearly confused. "What do you mean Mom!?" confusion laced in my voice.

"Hmm Livia, there are so many things that are not clear to you. But I'll tell you everything you need to know on the night you'll be leaving!!" She replied.

She held my hands and also grabbed Tess's own"All I need you to know is that no matter the circumstances, you both must never leave each other!!" She said smiling softly.

Why do I feel like there's something she's not telling me. Why do I feel that once I step outside this woods, my life will also change drastically. Why do I feel like everything I've ever known is not what it seems to be?
