Chapter 5 Everyone Is Gone

Beatriz peered around the building's side. "So, where do we go from here?" She shifted her gaze to her friends.

Kyron exhaled deeply and leaned against the wall, pulling away from the window. "I now know, but I'm not sure I'm ready to let her go in that manner. I mean, I wasn't sure we could trust her while she was with us, but how certain is she that the government won't turn on her later? "He inquired. However, after some consideration, he brushed it aside. "Whatever."

"I don't believe she would. In any case, we'd blast her legs off if she did. Just joking. I'm not sure what we would do." Beatriz fell silent once again.

Kyron gave a little smile in response to her remark. He wasn't sure what he'd do if he found out she had double crossed them anyhow; after all, she was an agent, and it was her 'job.' "Well, whatever. They're probably on the lookout for us. It's probably best if we simply remain here for a bit."

"Here? You've got to be joking, right? I'll starve to death from boredom and hunger! And she's aware that we've arrived!" Beatriz chuckled. Her reasoning had delighted her.

Regrettably, she was correct in her assessment. "Yes, it is correct. So? So, what do you think? "Crossing his arms across his chest, he inquired.

"Well, I might know where you can go."

"Oh?" Kyron gave her an inquisitive look, as if he wanted to know what she was thinking.

"If it's still there, I might. Please stick with me." As she walked out of the building, Beatriz said. She decided to go for a walk because no one was chasing them and the weather was pleasant. 'Perhaps later, but not now,' she reasoned.

Sweetie Pie first followed the others, but she soon realized she knew where they were heading and went off on her own. She was curious as to where the other Powerful had gone.

Beatriz accelerated her speed. She couldn't wait to get there. "Slow pokes, hurry up!" she shouted over her shoulder. Sweetie Pie had vanished when she turned around. "Crap! What happened to her?!" She dashed away from the men, sprinting along the streets in pursuit of Sweetie Pie. Beatriz collided with the curb. She had fallen into a deep abyss of sorrow. 'Why does everyone abandon me?' she wondered. Her thoughts abruptly returned to the past.

The happy expressions of her parents, followed by the look of their automobile crashing. The nuns at the orphanage, her best pals Susan and Johnny, and their shocked expressions as she demonstrated her abilities. Running away and taking up residence in a sewer. Felton locates her and ensures her safety. Getting to know all of her new acquaintances. Using her abilities to control plants in order to obtain food...

Beatriz groaned, "But now everyone is gone." Then she did something she hadn't done in three years: she did something she hadn't done in three years. She began to weep. Beatriz felt as if she were about to die. She wished to die.
