Chapter 9 Nine

"Take." Kelvin said and handed her his card. He had volunteered again to drive her back to her house, which they were now standing in front "My offer still stands."

Alisha said nothing.

"Call me anytime. I promise you that I'm going to be there for you."

"Thank you so much." Alisha replied and walked away from him.

Kelvin whistled as he walked back to his car.

Alisha checked out the card that Kelvin had given to her and she knew that there was no way that she was going to come into terms with Kelvin's plans.

She slowly opened the door and stepped into the house but was forcefully pulled inside the house by an unknown force. She instantly readied herself for operation fight or flight but when deep green eyes stared back at her scared ones, she relaxed.

"What the heck, Mindy?" She said angrily. Mindy was the one that had pulled her inside.

Mindy acted as if she doesn't care and happily sat on a couch "Tell me about it." she said.

"About what?" Alisha asked confusedly.

"About the guy that just dropped you off? Wait..." She raised hand in the air as she started thinking. "I've seen that face before. Was that not Kelvin? Kelvin McSmith?"

"What are you talking about?" Alisha played dumb.

"Stop lying. The guy that just dropped you off is Kelvin McSmith" she blushed, moved closer to Alisha and whispered "Tell me about everything that happened last night between you guys without leaving no stone unturned."

"Nothing happened between us."

Mindy looked at Alisha annoyingly and said "Why are you doing like this?"

"I'm being serious. Nothing happened between us. He is just a friend."

"Wow!" Mindy said surprisingly. "Now, you and Kelvin McSmith are friends. I saw everything that happened out there. He even gave you a card and the way he was looking at you 'revealed' everything that happened last night."

Alisha heaved a sigh. She knew that Mindy wouldn't let the matter rest until she knows what was going on.

"Okay, let me tell you what is going on"

"Now you're talking" Mindy smiled and sat up on the couch

"What about my mom? Is she at home?"

"Nah." Mindy replied and shook her head . "She went out some minutes ago. She freaked out when she didn't see you with me this morning but I reassured her that you're okay, that you're fine, that I know where you are. So now, to what we were talking about."

"He was the one who saved me when I tried to kill myself." Alisha said.

"Wait, what!?" Mindy said shockingly "Tell me you're lying"

"I'm not. He saved me and took me to his house."

"Why am I just hearing about this? Why didn't you tell me?" Mindy said and acted as if she was mad at Alisha for keeping that information from her.

"I thought we wouldn't meet again."

"But you still should have told me"

"I'm sorry Mindy. So, at the club when you went to the restroom, I came across Piaf and Zhang."

"At the club?" Mindy asked angrily.

"Yeah. I was shocked."

"You can't be serious?"

"I am."

"Piaf." Mindy spat out irritatedly "I don't want to meet her. I don't know what I'm going to do if I meet her. So, what happened next?"

"I walked out of the club and...Zhang followed me."

"That motherfucker." Mindy swore.

"He was acting strange and saying some bullshit but thankfully Kelvin showed up and saved me from him."

"Fuck! Alisha, I'm sorry for not being there for you."

"It's okay. Stop trying to blame yourself. I'm also sorry for leaving you behind."

"Don't be Alisha, I would have done the same." Mindy said.

"So, I told Kelvin to take me to a bar and I got drunk unintentionally and that was the reason why I woke up inside his house this morning."

"Wow, the whole night, I was thinking that you and him were getting down on each other."

"Newsflash! We weren't."

"Okay"

Alisha semi consciously dropped Kelvin's card on the table few seconds later and Mindy picked it up "What did he tell you to do with this?"

Alisha pondered whether to tell Mindy about Kelvin's offer for few seconds before saying "He said I should call him once I've made up my mind."

"Make up your mind? Make up your mind about what?" Mindy asked curiously "One night stand?"

Alisha sighed "He want me to be his fake girlfriend."

Mindy immediately sat up straight on the couch and started shaking her head. "Don't tell me you said 'no'"

"Of course, I said 'no'. Who will accept such an offer?"

"Millions of girls!" Mindy replied "Millions of girls will kill and destroy to be his fake girlfriend for just two hours. This is a one time offer girl!"

"But, I don't love him."

"It's not about you loving him. It's about you moving on from Dirty-Zhang. It's not as if he is telling you to love him. It's a fake relationship not a real one."

"But I'm still scared."

"Scared about what? There is nothing to be scared of. We're doing it now."

"Doing what?" Alisha asked confusedly.

"We're calling him now."

"No." Alisha said.

"Yes."

Mindy picked up her purse that was beside Alisha, brought out her phone and started murmuring "being in a fake relationship is better than being in a crazy one" as she was punching in the numbers that were on the card.

"Hello." Kelvin's sexy voice was heard on the speaker and Alisha had no other option than to collect the phone from Mindy's hand.

"Hey, it's me. Alisha." she said.

"Alisha?" He asked.

"Yeah."

"Hey, Alisha."

Alisha had no idea how to start the conversation and she looked at Mindy who mouthed to her "Just go straight to the point."

"Em... Kelvin about what you said today"

"What exactly?" He teased.

"What we talked about."

"We talked about a lot of things, Alisha."

'Just say it' Mindy mouthed to her frustratedly.

"Okay. About the relationship offer." Alisha said.

"Oh yeah! we talked about that too."

"I will like... to give it a...a chance"

"Really?" Kelvin asked surprisingly

"Yeah."

"Wow" Kelvin laughed "I wasn't really expecting you to accept it."

"I've thought about it and I think that it's a good offer. So, what are we going to do now?"

"I will get back to you tomorrow." Kelvin said.

"Okay."

"Okay. Bye."

Alisha sighed heavily the moment she hung up the phone and handed it back to Mindy who was smiling from ear to ear.

"Wow" she said unbelievably as she smiled at Alisha "This is going to be fun."

"I hope so" Alisha said under her breath.
