"Our love story could be kind of gory, far from boring
We'd meet at a post-apocalypse
Yeah, I'd be slowly walking in a group stalking you
You'd be the only man alive that I could not resist
Then all of your friends, they'd try to kill us
But only because they'd be jealous
That our love is deeper than Edward and Bella'sOh, if I were a zombie, I'd never eat your brain
I'd just want your heart, yeah, I'd want your heart
I'd just want your heart, yeah
Oh, if I were a zombie, I'd never eat your brain
I'd just want your heart, yeah, I'd want your heart
I'd just want your heart, 'cause I want you"
My voice was almost back to normal now. I was really enjoying being able to sing again. I stepped out of the shower to Bobo sitting just inside the door. "Did I wake you?" He shook his head and looked up at my phone. He was still in his wolf form, but he kept his link closed. Must have been because Koko was still sleeping. "Do you like the song?" His tail wagged slightly, but stopped then looked at my phone again then at me. "Oh, you like my singing." His tail wagged. I smiled. "Well, I like singing so you'll hear it a lot from me if you're around enough." A whimper was heard from my room, I looked and saw Koko was waking up. Bobo didn't waste a second. He was over there nuzzling Koko. Their bond was really strong. I couldn't help it. Even only wrapped in a towel, I went over to the twins and pulled them both into a hug. A smile stretched across my lips. I liked this. Jacin growled before joining in on the hug. I giggled at how easy he got jealous. "It's Monday. We have school to attend to, but I can't find my uniform."
Jacin, who had shifted back to his human form, laughed. "No uniforms in this school. Wear whatever you want."
"Oh.. Okay." I looked in my closet for something to wear. I was never good with fashion. "What do I wear?"
Jacin laughed again and shook his head before pulling out a jean skirt and a black tank top. Even though his face was bright red, he pulled out a pair of red lace panties and another black thing that I had no clue what it was. "Put these on."
"What's that?" I pointed at the second black thing that he pulled out.
"That's a bra. Have you never worn one?" I shook my head. "Oh Goddess, please give me the strength not to do anything stupid." I tilted my head. The twins had burst through my bedroom door. "Bowen! You're a pervert! Teach Leto how to put this on."
"Pervert!? Why are you calling me a pervert? You're the one holding a bra! Kody, don't you dare think about taking his side!"
"I've never learned about these things! You have! Please help." Jacin's ears were the same shade as the panties he picked out for me. I couldn't hold it back anymore. I burst into laughter. They all looked at me.
"I'm sorry. It's just that your ears a very red and Bobo is having to teach me things that probably make him uncomfortable, is very funny to me." Koko, who was smiling at them, was the one who took the bra from Jacin. He took my towel away and helped me put it on.
After getting dressed we headed down to the kitchen to get some food. Jacin poured a huge bowl of cereal for himself, Bobo made pancakes and Koko settled for leftover meat that was put in the fridge. I, however, ate a single piece of toast. "That's no enough food." Koko blurted out. Jacin and Bobo looked up from their food. "Really, one piece of toast isn't enough food for a werewolf."
I shrugged. "I'm not used to eating much. Usually I don't eat at all."
Bobo growled and passed me two pancakes from his plate. "Eat all of that and then I'll be happy."
I looked at them pancakes and sighed. "If I throw up it's not my fault." Bobo shrugged and began devouring his food again. I let out another sigh and eat them. When I was done, my stomach was hurting. This was not something that I was used to.
Standing outside the school, there were hundreds of people. This school was a whole lot bigger than my old school. I could smell the mixture of wolves and humans. Some had shown up to school in their wolf forms. The human students didn't seem to be bothered by this and said their good mornings to them like it was completely normal. I started to tremble. Bobo wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me close. "Nothing to worry about. You'll be with us all day." He smiled. I took a deep breath to calm myself down. I kept telling myself that everything was going to be okay. That I was going to be fine. That I had the twins and my mate here with me. "Well, let's go. We have class to get to."
"I'll see you at lunch." Jacin pulled me into a hug.
"Wait, are you not in the same classes as us?"
He smiled gently for me. The smile he only gave me. "No. I'm a senior. I have different classes. I'm at the other end of the school to where you three will be."
I looked down at my feet. "Oh. Okay.. Well I guess I'll see you at lunch."
He gently lifted my chin with his fingers. "Don't look so sad. It's not that much time."
I forced a smile for him. He took my hand and placed a gentle kiss on my fingers before striding away. The farther he got, the more I felt the mate pull. A need to be by his side. I let out a sigh and turned back to Bobo and Koko. "Are you okay, Leto?" I was starting to get used to them always speaking in unison. I nodded, even though I wasn't okay. I was scared. I was trembling again. The twins held out a hand to me. I took it without hesitation. Bobo to my left, Koko to my right. They led me to my locker. It was right beside theirs. That was reassuring.
Our first class was math. It was a wiz when it came to numbers. Within the first twenty minutes, I had already finished the assignment the class had been working on all week. I lifted my hand. The teacher nodded at me. "I... I..." I squeaked. Bobo looked over and smiled.
"She's finished Sir." The teacher furrowed his brow and walked swiftly to my desk. He took the papers and checked them over quickly before turning my textbook to the next page. What he didn't realize is that I had already figured the next page out in my head. He handed me a notebook and tapped that page. I wrote all the answers and explained it all even though it didn't ask me to. I raised my hand again. The teacher narrowed his eyes at me. It looked like he wasn't even done marking the assignment yet.
"What is it Miss Amara?"
"I..." I took a breath and steeled myself. "I've finished the text book Sir. I.. I have nothing to do.. May I have some harder problems to solve?" The entire class was looking at me with shocked expressions. I felt heat rise in my cheeks. The teacher stood up so quickly that his chair hit the floor. I flinched back.
"How is this possible?" He strode to my desk and took my textbook and the filled notebook along with the second notebook I had filled. Flipping through the pages of the textbook and the pages of the notebook the went with each lesson. He looked over at me. "You do not belong in my class." I looked at my hands that were fidgeting with my pen. "However, His Majesty has informed this school that you are to remain with Mr's. Black. I'll request something harder for you for tomorrow. You can help out the others for now." I shrank back. Everyone was staring at me. Bobo was smiling, but Koko looked as if he was going to kill someone.
I steeled myself again and looked around at my class mates. No one was looking at their books anymore. They were all looking at me. "D-D-Does a-anyone n-need any h-help?" I asked. I was trembling so bad that it was affecting my speech. No one answered me. I heard Koko let out a sigh.
"Guys, she's asking if anyone needs help. She's finished the whole textbook and is willing to help anyone who is struggling." They looked from Koko to me then back to Koko. "I'm pretty sure she's smarter than all of you put together."
"Miss. Amara, come to the front and figure out this problem." I looked up and saw that there was a problem freshly written on the chalkboard. I looked at it for a moment. Nothing was right in this problem. It was all wrong. Instead of picking up the chalk, I snagged Bobo's notebook that he was holding out for me. Quickly I wrote the correct formula and solved it within two minutes. I stood again and walked to the teacher. He took the book and looked it over. I had explained in writing that the formula and layout of the problem was incorrect. He looked over my answer then scratched his head. "I'm not sure how you figured this out in literally two minutes exactly. The smarted people alive still have yet to figure this out. Yet you did and explained everything in detail." He looked at the book again. "I think you don't belong in high school Miss. Amara. I think you belong with the geniuses who skipped school all together."
I shook my head. "N-no Sir... Please don't s-send me away.." Koko had come to the front of the class and hugged me from behind to help calm me down.
"I won't be sending you away Miss. Amara. I plan on having them come to you." I nodded and leaned into Koko. He was warm and comforting.
After first period was over, we headed to the auditorium for drama class. Apparently, they were working on a musical that they were going to preform for the festival. We sat on the stage and listened to the teacher drone on about the class needing to work on their singing. I perked up when she had mentioned singing. Bobo raised his hand. "Yes Bowen?"
"Miss, Leto is a wonderful singer. Could Viki be switched out for Leto to be the lead singer?" My cheeks burned. I had forgotten that it was Bobo that heard me singing in the shower this morning.
"That depends on if she can sing better that Viki. Leto, will you sing for us?"
I nodded and pulled out my phone. I flicked through my songs to find the right one that I was most familiar with. I settled for Concrete Angel. I sang with my heart. Keeping my eyes closed so that I would not see anything. When the song ended, I turn my music off and looked at the teacher. She had her hands clasped over her heart and tears in her eyes. "I have never heard that song sang with such emotion and heart. You have stolen my breath and brought tears to my eyes. Leto, will you be out lead singer?"
I was about to answer when a girl stood up and yelled. "No! She can't take my spot! I won't allow such!" Her hair was dyed blonde and she wore contacts that changed her eye color.
"Viki--"
"No! Just because she has the Kings blessing doesn't mean I am going to give up what I've worked so hard to get." She was human. I could tell. Her scent was sweet, but still had the human stench.
I took a step toward her. "I-I-I d-don't w-want t-the lead r-roll.. Y-you c-can k-keep it."
She glared at me. "Stop faking the stutter. No one is believing it." She may not have been a wolf, but I could swear I heard her growl. I flinched back and looked at my feet. "God, already you are annoying. What is wrong with you?"
A growl sounded off behind me. I turned and saw Bobo had his teeth bared at Viki. "B-Bobo... No... I-I'm okay." He looked at me with soft eyes but glared at Viki before sitting back down. "P-please keep y-your roll. I-I don't want it." She huffed and stomped off stage.
The rest of drama class, I sat on the edge of the stage watching the class. It was alright, but some of these students needed to practice a whole lot more. "Alright everyone. Since our costume maker had broken her hand, who would like to help her?" I quickly raised my hand. "Leto. Is there anyone else?" She looked around, but no one else raised their hand. "Well alright, just Leto." She looked at me with smiling eyes. "Do you know how to sew?" I nodded happily.
The bell rang and Bobo jumped off the stage followed by Koko. "Jump. We'll catch you." I smiled and stood up. I would not be helped down off the stage when I knew I could make the jump. I took a few steps back and lined myself up with the isle. I smiled mischievously and ran, jumping over the twins heads and landed gracefully behind them. "Well, we were not expecting that." They laughed.
English was the next class. The last class before lunch. I still felt the mate pull, but it wasn't as strong. Jacin must have been closer to my English class. I sat at my new desk while everyone else was working on a test. I raised my hand. The teacher looked at me. "M-may I have the test too please?"
She furrowed her brow and looked at the time. "There is only ten minutes left for class. You don't have time to do the test."
I smiled. "I-I could h-have the test d-done in five."
She glared at me, but got up and handed me the test. "I am challenging you. Your math teacher said you finished and entire textbook in thirty minutes. I want you to finish this hour long test in three minutes." I nodded and set a timer on my phone for two minutes. I was being cocky with the teacher like she was being to me. I let her hit start and I got to work.
The timer went off after I had handed in my test to her. Her jaw hung open as I walked back to my desk, giving Koko and Bobo a high five as I passed them. With me being as smart as I was, I was sure to gain haters.I turned off my timer and put my headphones in as the teacher stared at me. I didn't have to pretend to be stupid anymore. They weren't going to tell my mother and father. They didn't even know who they were. My phone buzzed in my hand I looked at it, it was Jacin. "Hey Beautiful. I'll be waiting out side your class to take you to lunch."
I couldn't help but smile. "Okay." Was all I could muster. I didn't really know how to text. I'd never had a working phone before.
I heard the bell go off and I picked up my bag. Koko was already at the door talking to Jacin. Bobo was waiting by the teachers desk for me. I stood up and started walking to him when my headphones were pulled from my ears. "You cheated on that test didn't you?" I looked at the boy who had my headphones in his hand. He had thick glasses on his face and many pimples that really needed to be popped. I shook my head and reached for my headphones, but he pulled them completely out of my phone. I frowned. "You did cheat! I saw you looking at other peoples papers before you even asked for the test!"
I heard Bobo growl, but I held up my hand. I was not in any danger from this human boy. "Ask me anything you want and I'll tell you the correct answer without even looking at my phone." I pulled my phone out of my pocket and handed it to Bobo who was now standing behind me. Jacin and Koko had noticed and stepped into the room, watching the boy closely.
He huffed. "Fine 1+(52x33)-(55/6) Solve it."
I let out a sigh. "Alright. The answer is 1707.83 and the square root is 41.32."
His jaw hung open, but her recovered quickly. "Fine, Who was the president of South Africa in 1903?"
"The South African Union was formed in 1910. The first president of Africa was King George V. From May 6th 1910 until his death in 1936. Therefore, there was no president in 1903."
The boy gritted his teeth. "I have one more that you have to answer with their names and reign dates." I nodded. "United States of America, first five presidents. Names and reign dates."
"George Washington from 1789 to 1797. John Adams from 1797 to 1801. Thomas Jefferson from 1801 to 1809. James Madison from 1809 to 1817. James Monroe from 1817 to 1825. That is the order from first to fifth with their start to finish reigning dates. May I have my headphones back now?"
He handed me my headphones and stomped out of the classroom, only to pop back in to say. "This isn't over newbie! I will find something that you can't answer!" Then he left again.
I burst into laughter. "I like that boy. He tests my mind and I like that. What is is name?"
"Kyle." The twins said. I nodded and walked up to Jacin. He took my hand and placed a gentle kiss on my fingers. "We don't have much time left for lunch. We may have to settle for cafeteria food." They sounded so upset about that.
"Don't we have cooking class after lunch?" They thought for a moment then their eyes brightened and they nodded. "Than I'm not too worried about eating." I smiled. "I'll show off my cooking skills in class." I giggled.
"Is there anything you aren't good at? Math wiz, great singer, English pro, great in the kitchen.. What else?"
"I clean, I took care of my parents garden, I'm great with animals. Ummm.... I can't really think of anything else.."
"Okay so just in general you are a genius. Jacin, you should have seen her in Math class this morning. Did everything in the textbook in thirty minutes. Solved a problem that not even the smartest people alive could figure out. Finished a whole test in English in under two minutes. The Drama teacher wanted to put her in the lead roll in the musical we are working on for the festival, but Leto turned it down. Now random pop questions, and she answered them all correct too. Dude, your mate is awesome. I think she's going to be great in gym too. She jumped off the stage, over our heads and landed gracefully behind us." Jacin was nodding and smiling like he was super proud that I could do all this. Little did they know, that all I was allowed to do was read textbooks and study when I was done my chores. That was something I didn't want anyone to know, so, I will never tell anyone.
