Chapter 4 Forth

Bobo and Koko wouldn't let me do the dishes. They kept saying that the well paid happy servants would do them for me. I felt terrible for leaving the dishes, but I had no choice. Koko had thrown me over his shoulder and ran away from the kitchen. There were too many twists and turns for me to remember my way back.

"Hey Leto, wanna go to our room tonight?"

"Um... Is that even allowed?" I was set back onto my feet.

"We are your guards. We have to be with you all the time to make sure that you are protected at all times. Plus, either we sleep together in your bed, or we sleep together in our bed." They smiled and me. These two were so adorable.

"What about my mate?"

"He knows. He's the one who got Uncle Ty to have us put as your guards."

"Well alright, but I have to warn you. I don't really know if I'll be able to sleep in a comfy bed. My room at my parents pack house wasn't at all like the room I have been given here."

"What do you mean?" They tilted their heads.

I sighed and slid down the wall to a seated position. "Well, my bed was a very old broken mattress that I would have to assume was from the garbage. It always smelled terrible. I had a mirror in my room, but it was only about the size of a mini tablet. I had my uniform for my old school and a gray t-shirt that was starting to look like I'd stitched it over a thousand times, which I did. I had a pair of pants, but they were handed to me from Darrian. They soon became nothing more than rags too. I didn't have underwear or bras. I had one pair of socks, but they were strictly for my uniform. Cleaning and music were the only things that kept me going." I paused and smiled to myself. "Bobo and Koko are my only friends. I--" I felt my stomach turn at the thought of my old home. I clasped a hand over my mouth as my stomach lurched.

"Are you okay?" I shook my head and tried to stand, but I couldn't hold it in any longer. I threw up everything in my stomach all over the floor. The carpet looked super expensive, which made me feel even worse for throwing up on it. They twins rubbed my back. "You'll be alright. Let it all out."

When nothing else was coming up, I fell over to my side. and just laid there. I opened my mouth to talk, but I could only squeak again. That made the twins look sad. Tears burned my eyes once again. Why did this have to happen now? What did I ever do to have this happen to me? I didn't bother to stop my tears and just let them roll down my face. I couldn't have looked any worse than I did at that moment. Vomit all over my chin, snot leaking from my nose and tears streaming from my eyes. "What's going on here?" I heard King Ty ask.

"Uncle, she was just talking a few moments ago and then she started throwing up and now she can't speak again. Uncle, what do we do?"

He sighed and crouched down by my head. I couldn't bring myself to look at him. "Leto, my daughter, are you okay?" I shook my head as another wave of tears burned my eyes, threatening to fall. "Bowen, Kody, take her to her room and give her a bath. Do not leave her side. That feeling is getting worse."

I was lifted and carried to my room by one of the twins. As much as I didn't want them to bathe with me, these silly boy stripped and hopped right into the bath with me. These two were more like my little brothers than my friends. I began to smile again not long after the water went cold. The boys tried to warm up the water but farting in it, saying that the gas the made was hot. I couldn't help but laugh. Mind you, it smelled terrible. When I was shivering from how cold the water was, Koko drained the water and turned on the hot water for the shower. "Koko." I whispered. It sounded like I had scratched my throat with sand paper. He looked at me. "It's too hot."

He turned the water off and they helped me dry off. I'd never brushed my hair before with a brush. I had no clue how to use one. Bobo ended up brushing my hair. "Where do you want to sleep tonight, Leto?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "Wherever you want I guess." They looked at each other and smiled. I furrowed my brow at them. "What are you thinking?"

"We are going to have a sleep over in this room. You'll sleep in the middle. That way no one will get to you without waking us up."

"Okay. Um.. When will Jacin be home?" I had forgotten with all the fun I was having, that Jacin wasn't with me. I missed him and it felt like something was being pulled inside my chest.

"He will be home later. Usually around 11 he gets home. Are you feeling the mate pull?"

It was my turn to tilt my head. "What's the mate pull?"

They looked at each other and sighed. "The mate pull is where you feel like you've been abandoned and there is a feeling in your chest that feels like a rubber band stretched to the point that it might snap at any moment."

"I think I feel that. Plus I just want to see him again. You boys are fun and great to hang out with.. But I want my mate."

"We totally get it." They smiled at me. "He'll be home in about an hour. Think you can wait that long before breaking down?"

I nodded ad looked at myself in the vanity mirror. I looked pale, but my hair was starting to shine again. A good sign that I'm getting healthy again. My eyes were still dull though. Those may take more time than anything else to become normal again. I let out a sigh and stood up. Walking to the window, I felt a little more at ease from the pulling in my chest.

The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I felt like I was being watched again, but then it was gone. Like it was never there to begin with. Goose bumps ran down my arms and I shivered. "Are you cold?"

"No. I felt--- Never mind." I shook my head. When I turned back to the boys, they were no longer their usual goofy selves. They had a serious look in their eyes.

"What did you feel?" I shrank back against the window.

"I-I-I-I.... I f-felt l-like I was being watched.." They strode over to the window and pushed me behind them, scanning the yard from my window.

"I don't see anything." Koko said.

"I don't either." Bobo spoke after a second or two.

"It went away as soon as I felt it." I was trembling. They turned back to me and released their seriousness, going back to their goofy ways.

"Well, looks like we are staying in our room tonight." They smiled at me. The trembling slowed down a bit, but I could still feel it. I nodded and they led me away to their room. Jacin would just have to find us.

The twins opened the door to their room and ushered me in. It was a normal boys room. It smelled and was dirty. "Ew." I said. They laughed and cleaned up some of the garbage. It didn't really help with the smell, but it did give me a clear path to the bed.

"We will be right back. We are going to get snacks and we will watch T.V. together." They smiled and left the room. Leaving me in this mess that was starting to drive me insane already. I started cleaning. I was not going to sleep in this room if it was this messy.

I was almost done with all the cleaning when the door opened. I turned around to say hello to the twins, but it wasn't them. It was my father. He looked so angry. I stepped back, my legs bumped into the bed. I had no where to go. "How fucking dare you not return to me! How dare you kill my beta and have the oddacity to send him back to me for burial!" He was growling at me. I whimpered, but with my legs pressed against the bed, I had nowhere to go. "I've come here to take you back to the pack house. You have work to do you little whore. Daddy wants his fix and you're going to give it to him." He took a step forward and I scrambled back over the bed.

I need to get away from him. Where? Where can I go? I tried to call out, but not even a squeak come out. "Come to Daddy Leto. We will go home now." His eyes had a murderous look in them. I trembled so hard that my teeth were chattering. I opened my link to Bobo, knowing Koko would hear me too.

"HELP!" I screamed into the link. There was a clatter and a crash from somewhere in the palace. Father ran at me, shifting as he got to the bed. I pressed my back against the wall and put my arms up to block my face. I felt his fangs sink deep into my arm. He threw me to the floor and pinned me there. I opened my link in general, for everyone I could feel or reach. "HELP ME!! PLEASE HELP ME!!" I screamed as loud as I could. There were growls and thumps as Father ripped at my arms and chest with this fangs and claws.

I could feel the pain like waves in an ocean. I felt the darkness calling for me, creeping up on me with enough speed that I felt dizzy from it. I begged for someone to help me, but no one was coming. I needed to shift and run for it, but with my arm being all torn up like this, I wouldn't get very far. I was about give up when I was a white wolf slam their body into Father's. My father yelped as he was thrown to the side. It was Koko. He'd come to save me. He stood over my weak body, growling at my father. Koko was not going to let him go. He was going to kill him.

When Koko and Father launched themselves at on another, I rolled to my belly and took off out the door. I was no fighter. I had no training. I wasn't in any sort of shape to even have a play fight. I am weak and useless to everyone. I ran for Jacin's room, knowing it would be empty of my father's pack. Jacin wasn't home. There was no reason to be in his room, right? I pushed the door open and closed it tight behind me. Not even a second later, there was a thump against the door. Someone had followed me and were now trying to get to me. I quickly locked the door and ran around the room, putting my scent everywhere as fast as I could. The door was not going to hold for long. I ducked into the closet and hid at the back, just as the door slammed open. I held my breath and covered my mouth to keep myself as quiet as possible. I prayed to the Moon Goddess that I would not be found.

There was a shadow under the door as a wolf sniffed around. I shut my eyes and prayed even harder. "Oh please Moon Goddess, I will do anything you want me to do if you would just save me. I don't want to die just yet. I haven't left my mark on the Earth. I haven't lived a normal life. Please, don't let me die." I prayed. It felt like time had stopped as that wolf sniffed around the doors of the closet.

There was another growl in the room. Someone else had followed me. Was this other wolf a friend, or an enemy? I pressed myself back farther into the closet. A fight had started outside the doors. The other wolf was a friend after all. They were fighting my father's pack member. There was a yelp, and a snap. Then nothing but silence. I didn't dare move. I was too scared to look. "Where are you?" Jacin's voice floated into my head from my open link.

"Your closet." I whimpered. The door opened and there stood Jacin, naked, panting and bleeding. I whimpered at the sight.

"It's alright. I only got a few small cuts. Nothing that won't heal on its own." Jacin strode to me and pulled me into a hug. "I promised that I would keep you safe, yet here I am, covered in blood holding you as a fight is going on in the palace. I should have taken you will me. I'm so sorry Leto. I'm so sorry."

"I'm fine. Please, let's get out of here." He nodded and shifted, letting me get on his back. He had already saw how bad my arm was.

"Tell me, who did this. I don't know any of these wolves."

"They are my father's lower pack members. They know almost nothing about anything other than what their instincts tell them."

"Well at least that's good. What happened to your arm and chest?"

"My father attacked me in Bobo and Koko's room. He's been watching me all day. The twins only stepped away to go get snacks for when we turned the T.V. on. Jacin, are they hurt?"

"I don't think they are. They are pretty tough when it comes to fighting." I let out a breath I didn't know that I was holding. Leaning forward, I slipped my finger into his fur. His fur was not soft at all and full of mats. "Sorry, I don't usually take care of my fur." He walked at a quick pace. The fighting seemed to have slowed down, but there were bodies everywhere. The smell of blood was thick, nearly suffocating.

I slipped off of Jacin's back when we neared the twins room. Running to their room, I looked in, not knowing who would be dead. Koko was there, but Bobo wasn't. I opened my link to him. "Where is Bobo?"

Koko looked up at me, his face was bleeding. White fur turning red. "Bobo is around. Unfortunately, your father got away from me."

"I don't care about my father, I care about you." I knelt down and took Koko's face in my hands. The wound wasn't bad, it wouldn't leave a scar.

Koko wagged his tail. "Your arm is healing quickly, that's good." I shrugged and used my already ruined dress to clean up the blood from his face. Other than the stickiness from the blood, his fur was very soft. Almost like pup fur. I smiled at the feeling and put my forehead on his. Jacin growled. I think he got jealous that I as giving Koko attention. "He's getting jealous." I giggled and looked up, holding my hand out to him. Jacin gladly placed his head in my hand. "Bowen is coming."

Looking at the door, Bobo strode in. "Wolf cuddles? I want in!" Bobo shifted to his wolf form and squeezed in between Jacin and Koko. I ran my fingers through his fur. Three tails were wagging. I liked this. No one was getting jealous and no one was fighting.

"Eventually, we need to bathe." Jacin's link was open to everyone in our small group. There were some yips of agreement. I smiled and stood up, following the route Jacin took me on to get to the twins room. I think they were determined not to leave my side because they all followed me to my room.

After everyone was clean and smelling good, I sat on the floor with a small comb to rid these boys of their mats. I started with the worst one first, my mate. His fur was so bad that I ended up having to use my brush and some tangle spray that Bobo brought from his room. It took quiet some time before Jacin's fur was soft and completely mat free. I moved on to Bobo, he was the second worst. He was still as a stone as I brushed him. He didn't like it when I was brushing his tail. I couldn't help but laugh. With Bobo's fur soft again, I moved on the Koko. He was the easiest. There weren't many mats in his fur.

I smiled at the completion of their fur and brushed my hair. With a yawn, I crawled into my bed. Happy yips and the light turning off, Jacin took my left side and the twins took my right. There was enough room for all of us to have space to move around. It wasn't long before the boys were asleep, but I laid there awake. The bed was too comfy. I was not going to be able to sleep. Slipping off the bed, I curled up on the floor, this was much better. Apparently, the boys noticed my absence from the bed and curled up on the floor with me.

Their snores were soothing. I smiled and hummed a lullaby to myself as I drifted off to sleep. My dreams were pleasant. Being able to run around in my wolf form whenever I wanted. Talking to anyone I wanted, but most of all, I felt the sense of freedom for the first time. I loved it. I opened my eyes once to make sure that having a mate and two friends wasn't the dream, but there they were, sleeping on the floor in my huge room with me. I smiled to myself and slipped off back to sleep.
