Chapter 5 I'll break your bones

" Damn Martin! Why did you lie to me !?" James bursted out of the kitchen. A look of horror, disgust and distaste on his face as he glared at him, his hands on either side of his hips

I creased my brow " what?"

" The noodles " he barked and like he's been fed something horrible, he rubbed his tongue ferociously with his hand " the noodles..." He said again

" What happened to the noodles ?" I wasn't totally confused and I really wasn't totally convinced

James sighed and dropped his shoulders, he walked closer to me and sat beside me on the bed " why don't you tell me the noodles tasted so bad ?"

Bad was an understatement!

" I wanted to " I shrugged " I wanted to say it tasted deliciously terrible but you cut me off "

" It tasted horrible" he mumbled " how do you managed to eat it? I couldn't even eat a spoonful"

I grabbed his hand, giving it a soft squeeze " you seemed happy when I ate the food "

James sighed and lifted up his gaze to mine. Oh! Not again!

He placed his hand on mine " but..." his voice shook like someone who's trying to hold his tears " but..."

" C'mon James " I cut in " when will you stop acting like a kid ?" I feigned a glare

" I am sorry I let you eat such a horrible food " he pouted

" Yeah! Horrible" I smiled down at him

James gave me a playful glare " you should sleep now" he said and before I could protest, he's already dragging my legs down, he lifted up my head and adjusted the pillow before he gently put it on it " sleep now "

" You're treating me like I'm an handicap"

" Well you're " he shrugged earning himself a glare from me " well, at least for now " he muttered

" You're sick bro "

" Nah " he shook his head, covered me with the duvet before he said " you're the sick one here " he placed his hand on my temple " are you feeling any pain "

" Nah, thanks to you "

He nodded slowly, stared at me for a second before he said " I'll be on my bed then, if you need anything" he muttered

" Thanks dude "

I breathed out and James nodded. His eyes lingered on my face for a second and he licked his lower lip making me raised my brow " are you okay ?"

" I don't know " he ran a hand through his black hair and breathed out. He looked so nervous right now and shades of pink blotch crept onto his cheeks

I smirked " Maria ?" I raised a questioning brow at him and he slowly nodded. Of course it would be her that will make my friend go temporary dumb " what happened to her?"

" I bumped into her when I went to the pharmacy" he bite his lower lip

" So? " I smirked " you bumped into her and so?"

James let out a frustrated sigh and again, his hand ran through his already disheveled hair " we just didn't bumped..." He paused and took in a deep breath " I hit... We hit ourselves" he almost cried when he said the last word and if not for anything, but for the sake of the noodles he made me, I resisted the great urge to laugh

" You hit yourselves?" I choked on a laughter and covered it with a fake cough " so... "

He fidget with his finger and wiped away the sweat that's formed on his temples " I.. I couldn't..."

" Talk to her " I cut in with a roll of my eyes

I've only heard about drama queen not drama king

" I didn't say sorry "

" You just gaped at her like a fool you're ? " I smirked and he slowly nodded " c'mon James, stop acting like a drama queen"

" But.. but " his face was pale as he let out another frustrated sigh " I just don't know how to talk to her "

" And I just don't believe you're actually 21 "

He glared at me as though he is ready to shoot a dagger straight to my mouth " you're not helping"

" I'm trying to help " I cooed " I'm ... "

" You know what " James raised a polite hand in the air " never mind, forget I told you anything"

And that was it, I know it would take time for him to crawl out of his freaking shell.

I didn't also argue as I slowly nodded, I was sleepy anyway... Probably the effect of the drug " we'll talk more on this "

" No" he shook his head " forget I told... "

" Unfortunately, my memory is sharp as a sword edge " I smirked " I'll go to sleep then " I ducked my head under the duvet before James could say anymore word

" Go to hell " he snapped

" I'd rather go to sleep dude "

I felt him moved away from my bed, his leg making a noisy contact with the tiled floor before it died away " don't think too much of it buddy " I muffled under the duvet

" Just go to sleep idiot"

" Yeah! Better than going to hell "

" How could you do something so irrational! "

" Don't talk to me like that when you never know what happened"

" Never know what happened? Remember I was here when everything was going on "

" Just shut up and let me be "

" No I won't! "

I woke up to the loud voices blazing in the room. The voices sounded so familiar and I was half hoping and praying it's not really what I'm thinking

" What kind of friend hit his best friend because he broke up with his cousin! "

I slid my eyes opened and quickly ducked my head out of the duvet and there they are, his back on me and his body obstructing the view of his second

No! Not good! It's Cullen

" I told you to shut up!" Cullen roared. My eyes travelled down to his hand and he flexed it before he balled it into a fist " he didn't only break up with her! He broke her heart "

" That doesn't seems so surprising" James said as calmly as irritating " when a relationship dissolved, one is supposed to feel heartbroken, why will you make a serious deal out of it"

With the way he was shaking, I'm sure it's taking every ounce of his patience to not hit James " I told you to shut up " he barked " what the hell do you know about relationship"

" A hell lot " James mumbled

Well that seems surprising

" Is that not surprising" said Cullen with a mock laugh

Oh no! I know what's coming next

" I find that so hard to believe James"

" I didn't want you to believe it either " said James. I know he'd be biting his lips now and his face will be full of those pink shade

Cullen took a step back and another mockery laugh left his lips " don't push me James or else you won't like what is coming next "

I breathed out a relief sigh, at least he is considerate

" I don't care what you wanna do " James snarled " you're just so petty to admit your mistake "

" I made no mistake" mouthed Cullen " I'm telling you, don't ..."

" Give it a rest !" I shouted taking the two of them all by surprise as they both turned. I crawled out of the bed and stood firmly on my feet... Thanks to James, I didn't feel much of the pain as before " give it a rest "

Cullen eyes bore into mine. Green to grey. And I can see the anger brewing in them, the loathing and one thing I'm not sure I've seen right..... Longing!

" You're awake " James mumbled

" Obviously " I grinned. Even though I know this situation didn't called for a grin, I'd still manage to grin and ease the tension that hung thickly in the air

James breathed out and turned to Cullen " do you see his face ? Look how you ruin it "

" He ruined my cousin's face too "

" You're really petty "

Cullen glared at James " don't act like you're not petty when you're also an impotent who only ogle a girl for years.... "

" Don't " I cut in " stop it Cullen "

Cullen smirked at me as he lay his icy green eyes on me " not even a girl " he turned to James who's turned to a human tomato " but a nerd "

Just what it took for James to loose it all. He lunged to Cullen and grabbed his collar strangling him with it " don't you dare !"

I stepped beside them yanking James grip off Cullen's neck

Cullen coughed slightly and his hand went to his neck, his face was rather pink and flustered " do you think i was lying " he smirked " she.."

" Don't " I warned. I was already between them making it impossible for James to make another step " don't you dare call her a nerd "

" Or what ?" He snickered flexing his hand " you gonna break my heart ? "

" No! I will break your bones"
