Chapter 4 You are disgusting

Lisa, who is talking to her friends shocked to see Sophia here, especially when she is more beautiful than ever.

She is wearing a lace gown, which is showing her slender arms, neck and shoulders. Her skin is fair and clear. Her eyes are large and bright like a diamond. She pulled her hair into a twisted side bun, small strands of hair framed her pretty face. She looks like an angel who came down from heaven. She doesn't have to wear revealing clothes to seduce the man, her eyes are enough to make any man kneel in front of her.

Lisa is wearing a strapless blue gown with a slit up to her mid thigh revealing her snow white leg. Her dress is covered with exaggerated design. She has been the centre of attention until now. But, as soon as Sophia showed up, she captured everyone's eyes.

Lisa is so jealous upon seeing her. In fact, she is also beautiful with her jade like face and naturally pouty lips. But the aura around Sophia is entirely different it makes anyone feel like she is pure and innocent.

suppressing her jealousy she said "Sophia, you are back, it's good to see you"

Sophia inwardly scoffed at her sickeningly sweet voice

When people heard Lisa's warm greeting, they frowned at her kindness.

Jennie, one of Lisa's friends said "Lisa you are too kind. Have you forgotten what her family did?"

Another one said "yes, Lisa they are too vicious. I don't know how you thought it's good to see her"

John Smith, Lisa's father heard the commotion and he headed in that direction. He wanted to ask his daughter what was going on but when he got there he certainly did not expect to see Sophia.

He recovered from his initial shock and immediately greeted her. But, Sophia didn't bother to act like them and turned her back on them. After learning what they did to her family by using her father's kindness, How can she still smile at them when all she wanted to do is torture them.

Before she could take a step, Mia sneered and said "look at her uncle, she is too arrogant, she doesn't deserve your kindness at all"

John 'frowned' at Mia words and said "Don't talk like that kid, I always treated Sophia like my own daughter after all she is the daughter of my best friend"

"He is not your best friend, he is a traitor and a cheater" said Mia.

Sophia blood boiled when she heard what Mia said. Before John had a chance to respond, she began "you... " she cast a cold glance at John and Lisa before settling her gaze on Mia and said

"you are disgusting"

She said word by word with a chilling gaze like if it was true.

It's true anyways.

After that, she grabbed Kathy's hand and walked in another direction, leaving boiling Mia behind.

She never attended many parties before even though her father is a well known businessman. She wanted to get to know people in order to develop her business.

Not only Sophia, many people come to parties just to expand their connections. It's just like food chain the higher you are, the more power you get. The lower you are, the more dangerous it can be. Anyone can take you down. So, it is obvious that everyone wants to climb up their way to top.

Lisa is chatting elegantly with some business acquaintance, but her eyes would go towards Sophia in every five minutes.

Sophia can sense her gaze, but she didn't acknowledge. She doesn't t know anyone here, when she is in a dilemma of whom to talk there is gentle voice.

"Sophie, my child, how are you?"

She turned her head only to see Mr. Hyde, he is in his late sixties and he is one of the director and friend of her dad. He is always kind towards her and treated her nicely. But, isn't John also treated her nicely? But now he is enjoying the fruits of her father's labour.

So, she chooses to believe no one, after all her father is the smartest person, but he ended up in a most cruel manner. That means there must be many people involved in the crime.

Suddenly, she thought about the boy who once said to her, 'Don't believe everybody easily'. But she didn't take his words seriously. Her life at that time was simple and beautiful she was unaware of the harshness of the cruel world. She believed anyone just like how she believed Lisa.

She subconsciously started to search for the familiar figure only to find out that he is not here. Disappointment clearly displayed in her eyes.

With a half smile she greeted Hyde "uncle Hyde, I am good. How you doing?"

"I am fine child, where are you in all these years? What are you doing now? " He asked.

"I am with my friend overseas" she only answered his first question because she didn't have an answer for the second one. What can she say? That she is a blackmailer? That she also has his secrets as well? Absolutely no.

Lisa is observing everyone in the hall. Many people have set their eyes on Sophia ever since she turned eighteen and made a public appearance, but they dared not to approach because of her father. Now, there is no one to look after her and she is more beautiful now. They thought it's their chance now.

Sophia is oblivious to the hungry gazes but Lisa pays attention to everyone. So, she immediately noticed that Mr. Robert Carter is interested in Sophia.

Robert Carter is forty five old business man and he is still unmarried. His entire concentration is on his company so he never bothered to marry, but he does have a kid. And it is said that he likes to play with young girls. If he really took a fancy on Sophia, then this is really great news for Lisa. Thinking about the destruction of Sophia, Lisa walked towards him.

"Mr. Carter" she greeted him with a sweet smile.

Robert has been eyeing Sophia he didn't even bother to hide it. It was Only when he heard Lisa's voice did he look away. He immediately composed himself and said

"Ms. Smith, you look lovely tonight"

"Mr. Carter your compliment is unbelievable when all your focus is on one person," she said with a knowing smile.

"Ms. Smith you have a sharp eye." he said, turning his gaze towards Sophia

Lisa rolled her eyes inwardly, who can't tell when he practically drooling over her. Disgusting.

"Mr. Carter, why don't you introduce yourself to Sophia. I heard that she is having a hard time she can't live without luxury" Lisa said.

Anyone can understand what she is implying so was Carter. He smiled and asked "Really? I thought she was not that kind of person"

"Of course, she is not. I suggest you to marry her, look at her, she is beautiful and can be the perfect housewife. Moreover, she is truly obedient girl" Said Lisa.

Carter really seemed to consider this option. After all, marriage is also important. Watching his expression Lisa immediately grabbed the opportunity and said "I will introduce you to Sophia. She is so fortunate to win your heart"

Hearing her praise he immediately followed her.
