Chapter 5 You're strange!!

The she devil

The whole day ran by the speed of light, Daren refused to leave and for some reason, his kind gesture towards me got me a little suspicious, I needed to keep calm and know what was going on.

I packed up my bags, removed my jacket, as I amble out of my office, but stumbled on Daren, who was all set and ready to head back home.

"Hello miss Karol"

His voice sweetened my ears, he swiftly gets close to me, "are you going home now?". He added, knowing full well I was.

"Yes, sir Daren" I called returning with a warm smile on, "that's good but can you please stop calling me, sir, be free to call me Daren", he says pulling out his hands to me.

"Ok..ay...I'll do that".

Daren's niceness towards me, got my suspicion over its limit, maybe he knew my real IDENTITY, or rather he was just being kind but why only

to me? I asked myself as we both walked out of the company's building.

"Goodnight Daren"

I smiled entering into the cab, I watched him at the rare view mirror, how he watched the car drive afar from his sight.

An hour later, i returned home, and while I checked the time it was a minute past ten and figured aunt must have been asleep but took heed to her voice the second I walked past her room.

"Hello, my lovely niece".

I veered back, poked my head inside just to notice she sat down at a spot waiting for my arrival, "how many hours have you been sitting here?". My question smudged a smile on her face, retreating with her question, "why are you coming late and secondly what happened at work today".

Aunt was so curious to listen to everything that occurred at work, she warned that even the smallest detail is important, and I need not leave any information away from her, so! I told her everything.

She was pleased with my response mostly Daren's assistance towards my work at the office and encouraged me to act according to plan, retiring back to bed.

"Goodnight aunt!". I switched off the light to her room, after placing a kiss on her cheeks, also I retired as well...

I wore My SpongeBob SquarePants pajamas, tossed my flip flops aside, and tucked myself to bed, as I slowly dozed off to sleep.

Every sound ceased around me, the calm serenity, the peace I felt within in my soul but unfortunately, the atmosphere changed the second, heard Aunt scream.

"Aunt"

Without hesitation, I ran out of my room, into hers, and stumbled on a masked man holding a gun to her head.

Aunt gestured I run away but I was as stubborn as I mule, the moment I tried to reach out, the gun was shot to her head, as she slowly depleted to the floor, "noooooooooooooo" I screamed out, as I jerked back to reality.
