Chapter 2 Plan A

The she-devil

I straightened up my back, pushed out my trunk, and walked out of the company with my head held up high and my smile on.

Thereafter, I returned home to aunt Rose Marie, I couldn't wait to tell her so I rushed into her room but caught her unconscious on the floor.

"Aunt"

I snatched her up and laid her down on the bed, the doctor came home the second I told him what arose.

He ran some check on her and after a while asserted to me with a gloomy look on, the look on his face got me worried, I hoped aunt was okay because she was the one family I had after the death of my parents.

"Am sorry Karol but your aunt has leukemia!" The doctor said to me and when someone has leukemia to a lame man's understanding it means cancer of the blood.

My heart was slowly ripping apart, I cannot lose my aunt, she was my family and not to say, the only family I had.

"Is there any way we can save her, doctor?"

If there was a way to save my aunt, I wouldn't hesitate to do that but unfortunately, my hope dashed into pieces at the juncture the doctor jolted his head in grievance.

" I am sorry, there is not, and besides this isn't the first time your aunt has fallen unconscious, it happened a month ago but luckily she was brought in to the hospital, that's when she found out that she had leukemia"

One thing I couldn't comprehend was why didn't she tell me the truth, I was just like a daughter to her, but why did she keep this kind of serious Information from me.

"Urgh"

A weak moan veered out attention and saw she had regained consciousness, aunt saw the depressing look on my face and it gave it away that I must have found out that truth about her Illness.

"Hey! Dear! You are back"

She placed a pillow behind her back as she rested on it geeking at me.

"Thank you doctor"

I waited for him to leave, hence retorts back the moment he left us alone in the room.

"Why didn't you tell me about your Illness?". I said with a pissed-off tone.

"Why should I? So you could feel sorry for me?".

Aunt retreats to me, recouping her attention elsewhere, I never believed she could say such to me, after all, she was my aunt.

"Really aunt? How on earth will I feel pity for you! You are my family and it's best I know what's going on".

My answer made no effort to change her mind, rather she shifted the topic to avoid arguing with me.

"So tell me! Did you get the job?".

She inquired idling for my response, "Yes I did Aunt!" I finally weave out the answer she was dying to hear.

"That's good! It's now time to execute the second stage of our plans, hmmm!". She shoots a warm smile at me.
