(Picking up the pieces)

Jana's pov

I hurried and cleaned the house so that he wouldn't have an excuse to hit me when he got back then again who am I kidding he never needs an excuse. Well at least now the house is clean in case someone does come over. I don't even want to know where or who he is even with. I can't believe he would do this I know it sounds stupid, but I thought he was at least faithful. Guess I was wrong once again.

Why did I even stay with him when all he did was treat me so bad? I needed to get away from him, but how? I had no one to help me get away. I had no money I was stuck in this marriage with no way out. I guess I only had myself to blame I mean he was so sweet at first but once he got the ring on my finger he started to change.

I should have stopped things right then and there, but I was so in love that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. Once we were married everything changed, he acted as if he owned me. I was no longer the love of his life I was now his slave. He was born with a gold spoon in his mouth, so he always thought he was privileged. Me on the other hand I was not so lucky I was born dirt poor grew up in the foster care system, so he always felt like since he saved me, I owed him.

I never spend any of his money on anything but the bills. I have never asked him for anything but now he thinks all I want is his money. I never cared about money all I ever wanted was him, but now I'm just not sure he's what I want anymore. I just don't know what to do though.

I jumped when I heard a knock on the door great now who could that be? I hurried to open the door so that I wouldn't get in trouble for taking so long for opening the door. I opened the door and was surprised to see a gorgeous guy standing on my doorstep. Then I noticed a woman walking up she was so beautiful who were these people and why the hell were they at my door.

"Hello is Micah here?"

"Um no he is not he is expecting you?"

I looked at them and then seen Micah come up the drive and hugged both the woman and man. Who were these people? I thought he had his party tonight so why was he back here? Once again, I never know what is going on in my own home.

"Come on in guys excuse my wife I forgot to tell her we were having guests."

He gave me a dirty look but hurry and hide his expression when he saw them looking at us. He did this on purpose to see how I would react. I moved out of the way and let them in. I was so scared if I did something wrong, he would hit me again.

"I am so sorry are you guys hungry? I could make something."

"OH no thank you but me and my brother stopped by and got something before we came."

"Jana babe could you go make up the guest rooms for my dear friends they will be staying with us for a few weeks."

"Sure, I will go do that now sorry would have done it sooner."

"Oh, please make me a plate of that lasagna you made earlier Hun I'm sure that'll be a real treat for them since they travel so much, they hardly ever get a home cooked meal."

I said ok and hurried out of the room I knew he would do this he is just waiting for me to screw up so he could make me look a fool in front of his friends that I didn't even know was coming. I heard someone behind me and jumped.

"I'm sorry to scare you but I wanted to tell you there is no need to make my bed I am a grown man I can do this myself but thank you. So how long have you and Micah been married?"

"Oh a few years now."

I hurried to walk out the door and make up the bedding for his sister. If I stayed in the room with this man any longer, I might have to reach out and touch his hot body. I jumped again when I heard a noise. I looked back and saw Micah coming in the room behind me.

"Do not embarrass me you little twit or else you will get it. These are old dear friends of mine and you are to cater to their every need you got that? Now hurry up so you can start cooking."

"Micah what about your party?"

"There was no party my dear it was a test one that you failed at. Now don't make us wait."

I nodded my head in agreement and went back to what I was doing and then went downstairs to see what all I would need at the store to make sure we had enough things for our guests. I went into the living room and told Micah I needed to go to the store to get a few things for our house guests. He came over gave me a kiss and handed me money. I was almost in shock, but knew he was only doing it to impress his friends and look like the devoted husband.

His female friend Sky told him I was just so beautiful, and he told her he told me that all the time I almost laughed but I stopped myself. I grabbed the keys and my purse and was almost out the door when the sexy beast of a man stopped me.

"Hey if you're going to the store do you mind if I ride with, I need to get a few things since some of my luggage was lost at the airport.

"You don't mind do you Micah?"

I looked over at my husband expecting him to say no, but he was looking at Sky with lust. And I knew he would agree just so he could be alone with her. Was this the mistress he told me about? Would he really invite her to stay in our home?

"Sure, no problem you don't mind do you Sky? Just call when you're on your way back babe so I can help carry things in. Love you."

"Ok no problem um love you to."

I hurried out the door with Skylar I guess him, and Sky must be twins since their names were so close. I had to get to get in my car before I broke down and cried yes, I may not love Micah anymore but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt any less knowing he is having an affair on me. I looked over at Skylar and just smiled he looked at me and I saw sadness he must know what his sister and my husband will be doing while we are gone.

We decided to go to the mall so he could get his stuff first and then head to the store since we needed to take our time so my husband could take his time cheating on me. I looked over at Skylar and he smiled at me.

"So, would you like to get a coffee and sit down?"

"Sure, since I'm sure Micah isn't expecting us any time soon."

"Look I don't know what they are doing but knowing my sister and Micah I'm quite sure since everyone thought they would be the ones to get married. When I came, I was told he was single, and he wanted to get back with her I didn't know any of this and well I'm sorry."

"Don't pity me ok I don't need you to be sorry for me or anyone else. Look I just want to get to the store and get back I don't care what they are doing."

With that I got up and headed to the car not caring if he was behind me or not. I was about to the car when he turned me around and kissed me with more passion then I have ever felt before in my life. I looked at him once we stopped kissing and didn't know what to say.

"I do not pity you at all you shouldn't be married to an ass like that and if I have my way you won't be for long."

I didn't know what to say to that we went to the store and I called Micah to tell him we were on our way. He told me not to worry about getting anything and to come home right away. Oh no did someone see Skylar kiss me and tell him? I was shaking I was so scared of what was going to happen.

I pulled into the driveway and saw Micah loading up his truck with luggage. What was really going on was he kicking me out for her? I looked over at him so close to tears.

"What's going on is everything ok?"

"yes, babe but I have to go there is an emergency with work and I have to go out of town Sky will be going with me since it has to do with her. The reason she's here is we will be working together. I'm sorry baby but eating your good food will have to wait. I'll miss you though."

I looked over at Sky and she just smiled at me. I should be upset he was leaving but I wasn't finally I wouldn't get beat on a daily basis. I would be able to just relax with my kids. Let her have him. Maybe now he will leave, and I could be free.

"I will miss you to how long will you be gone?"

"Oh just a few weeks Skylar will be here to keep you company and watch over you while we are away."

"Ok well please have a safe trip."

I kissed him and finished getting the bags while he and Skylar talked.

"Now Skylar please take care of my wife and let me know if she gives you any trouble, she can be a handful."

I looked at both of them and hurried back into the house as I heard Skylar say.

"Oh, I don't think she will be any problem at all have fun on your trip."

I don't know what he meant by that and I was shocked to see that Micah didn't even catch on or if he did, he didn't seem to care he just got in his truck and drove away with Sky leaving me alone with the one man I couldn't stop lusting after. This was going to be a long couple of weeks.
