Chapter 4 Meeting the groom and best man.

Leila was fascinated by her best friend's love story. After Amber finished explaining, Leila had only one question for her friend. She took time before she asked her question.

"Amber, Do.... you love Liam?" She had noticed that Amber had not mentioned the word 'love, 'and she was wondering why.

Amber struggled to answer, she had not expected her friend to ask her that question. She pulled herself together before she responded.

"I think so...., and why.... do you ask Leila?" Amber was curious. She knew that her friend did not ask questions for the sake of asking.

"I am just asking; you know l do care for you so much, Amber." There was silence as Leila elaborated.

"I know......, and I feel so terrible that I did not tell you earlier." Forcing a smile she tried to explained.

"Each time when we spoke for the last three weeks, I would curse myself for not being able to tell you." Amber was showing signs of guilt.

"I did not know what you would think of me. Agreeing to marry someone after knowing him for two days is crazy Leila." Amber could not help it but laugh. The two friends could not stop laughing. Leila loved her friend so much and she understood the situation.

Leila was ready to help her friend prepare for her dream wedding.

"Enough of that we have a wedding to plan. Am I still the maid of honor or you have a secret friend?" She teased her friend.

"Stop it Leila, you know that you are my only true friend," Amber gave her friend a cuddle.

"I was just teasing you; nobody can take my position. I was born to be your maid of honor." Leila smiled.

"When am I meeting Liam? You know you can't hide him away from me now, right?" Leila looked her friend straight in the eyes.

"We are meeting him and his best friend tonight at 7:30 pm." Amber informed her friend calmly. She was happy that the story telling had finished.

Leila looked at the time and started panicking. "We don't have enough time Amber. Let us prepare quickly. We won't get there on time." Leila thought that they had to drive to some place to meet him.

"Relax babe, he is coming to pick us up from here." Amber had seen the worry in her friend's face.

The two friends prepared for their meeting with Liam and his friend.

"Amber have you met or talked to Liam's friend?" Leila asked whilst sorting out her makeup.

"No, why? Are...... you interested in him Leila?" Amber teased her friend.

"No... no, I wanted to know since I will be working with him for the next two weeks." Leila replied her friend. The two friends liked to tease each other. Amber was the more confident one with regards to guys.

Liam arrived at Leila's place around 7pm. He was so happy to see Amber. The two hugged and kissed. Holding Leila's hand, Amber introduced her best friend.

"Oh... Liam meet my one and only friend Leila."

"Nice to meet you Leila, I have heard so much about you." Liam shook Leila's hand. Leila smiled. She was happy for her friend.

When she met Liam, she could tell that he was a decent guy. Between the two friend Leila was the best judge of character. Liam was polite and handsome. Leila could tell that he really liked Amber. She was not sure if the love was well reciprocated by her friend.

"We are meeting my friend Ben and we don't want to keep that guy waiting." Liam was already opening the doors for the girls to get into the car. "Let's go ladies." he spoke with eyes fixed at his bride.

They arrived at the hotel and Leila was quick to notice a guy in a suit pacing around with his phone.

"There is Ben, what time is it Amber? This guy is so particular about keeping time." Liam informed the two friends.

Amber looked at her watch and said," It is 7:30."

Opening the door Liam retorted, "Good we are on time."

Ben just like Liam was an Investment banker. They had known each other since they were eight and became closer when they both attended a boys' college for rich boys.

The girls could tell that Ben was so full of himself. They would occasionally stare at each other when he was talking. Leila did not care at all about Ben's attitude. She just wanted her friend to have the best wedding ever, so would just ignore some of Ben's remarks.

After the initial meeting, the four agreed to meet again at the end of the week. Liam dropped the girls at Leila's place. He promised to see Amber on the next day.

"Amber, I know you are tired from your flight. l will let you rest and see you tomorrow." Liam got into his car and left.

The girls went into Leila's place to try to get some sleep. They spent some time making jokes about Ben. Amber kept teasing Leila that she wanted to set her up with Ben. It was like in senior school when they made jokes about boys.

"Amber are you asleep?" Leila was checking.

"No Leila, I am trying to," she replied with a soft voice.

"You are my good friend and I want to be honest with you. You made a good decision; Liam is a good guy. I can't say the same about his best friend." Leila informed her best friend.

Amber was relieved when she heard those words from her friend. She was worried that Leila wanted to say something else.

"Thank you, Leila it means a lot, coming from you." Amber said and quickly dozed off. The two best friends slept and, in the morning, Amber left for her parents' house.
