Past

Tigra's pov

I can't believe how lucky I am. These people I was taught to hate all my life are the only ones that can save me now. Sam sat down and explained mates to me and told me that there is someone out there for everyone. That I was created just for him to love me for all my existence. I told him that couldn't be that my family had promised my hand to another that I would be forced to marry him or be punished for the rest of my life.

The look of sadness and anger in his eyes made me turn away. Somehow, I knew he would never hurt me, but I couldn't help but still be a little scared. He kissed my nose and told me I had nothing to be afraid of that he would never hurt me. I started to cry something I have never done before. This was all new to me.

I told him he could never genuinely love me not when he didn't even know who I truly was. He looked at me and told me that nothing I told him would ever keep him from loving me. I knew what he said was true, and I knew I could tell him everything. I wanted to tell him who I really was, and about my family. Just when I was about to tell him there was a knock at the door, and the one person I hated walked in the room.

This bitch wanted to ruin my life I swear. I looked at Sam and saw this love he had for her. Great now she has stolen my mate as well as the man I'm being forced to marry. What does she have that I don't? Sam looked at me with pleading eyes and told me he would be right back. To say I was hurt and angry would have been an understatement. I was sitting in his room waiting for him to come back when all of a sudden, a hand was over my mouth, and I felt a hard hit to the back of my head knocking me out.

Present

Tigra's pov

I woke up to mind numbing pain in my head and nothing but darkness. It smelled like rotting flesh in here. I had no clue where I was all I knew was that I no longer felt safe. I didn't know where Sam was, and that's what scared me the most. What if he was hurt? I needed to get out of here. I tried to get up and fell back down. Great I was shackled to the floor and trapped behind something that looked like a wall. Oh no this couldn't be there is no way I could be here. She tried looking around, but she knew all too well that her nightmare was now her reality.

She was trapped within these walls, and unless that prick came to her rescue this is where she would spend the rest of her existence. How did they find her? Did they kill the only man that ever made her feel truly alive? She screamed out at the thought of losing the only man that ever wanted her.

"Shut up Tigra there is no reason for you to scream no one can hear you here. No one even knows you're here."

"Who's there? Who the hell are you?"

"Don't you recognize your own masters voice my dear? Such a waste if I do say. So young and beautiful, but now none of that matters. You disobeyed your orders so here is where you shall stay."

"I didn't disobey I was getting closer to him."

"Like hell you were. You were getting close to mutts. He should be here now. We should be planning your wedding, but not instead the underworld is in ruins all because of a little bitch like you. I knew they should never have sent someone so stupid to do this job. Why they even promised you to my son is beyond me."

"Wait your Gage's father, but aren't you the one that set up this marriage?"

"That is far from the truth my dear. I never wanted my son to marry some half breed that is beneath him. You could never be the true queen of the underworld. That's why you're here trapped within my castle walls where no one can hear you. No one can even smell you which is truly a good thing since you smell of them."

"What are you talking about? Half breed? My parents are both vampires and immensely powerful. Just wait until they find out what you did, they will slaughter you and all of your family."

"Oh, you stupid girl you actually think that anyone can stop me? As for your parents they are already dead have been for centuries now."

"Wait what? My parents sent me to find your son they are very much alive."

"Those people are your watchers not your parents your mother was a powerful vampire. She was the love of my life actually I am the one that turned her, but instead of being with me she chose to be with a damn mutt. She mated him and then they had you. Yes, my dear your father was a werewolf. That is why you shifted. NO witch could ever make a spell that causes you to be a wolf. You are just so dumb I sent that witch to help my son. I needed to get you away from him."

"This is wrong you are lying."

"Am I? You will never rule the underworld I have chosen another for my son. I will never let the likes of you have such control."

"But if you loved my mother how could you do this? Why did you agree to this arrangement in the first place?"

"I had no other choice to. I knew it would never happen. As for your mother she chose who she wanted, and that is what cost her life. I begged her to come back to me after I killed her mate, but of course she could never love me. So, she took her own life and left you behind. So, I had protectors take you and raise you as their own. Little did I know that you were the one that was going to be promised to my son? See I agreed to this arrangement way before I knew that it was you, he was to marry. Now I can never let this happen. I will never allow my son to marry a half breed."

"Wait no this can't be. Gage himself has shifted into a wolf when he was pretending to be that bitch's brother. So, tell me how the hell is that possible?"

"Because my wife is a wolf of course I didn't know that before I changed her. Her wolf died in the process so we were assured our children would not half the wolf gene, but they were wrong. My only child has the wolf gene."

"So, your perfect son is a half breed as well what makes him so different than me?"

"He is powerful. Not weak like you. I cannot allow this marriage to take place."

"That is something we both agree upon. I will never marry your son. I don't want him, nor do I want to rule over the underworld. I found my mate I want to be with him please just let me go back to him, and everything will work out the way you want."

"Oh, how touching, but no that can never happen. As long as everyone thinks you are alive my son can never have anyone else. It is only in your death that he is allowed to choose another. So, I'm afraid you are stuck here. Their actually preparing your funeral right now as we speak. So, no one will ever look for you. Your poor mate will soon hear of your death, and it will kill him."

"Leave him out of this. I will not fight you I will stay here just leave him out of this."

"Touching, but I'm afraid I can't. If he thinks you're still alive he will never stop looking for you, and I just can't have that. Well, I must go act like the grieving father-in-law. I will be back soon to check on you my pet."

All Tigra could do was cry. She finally found love only to lose it so soon after. Now my mate is free he can love that bitch she won she gets everything I have ever wanted, and I am here trapped within these walls.
