Chapter 5 Ultimate betrayal

Johanna's pov

I woke up feeling kisses on my cheek. I opened my eyes to see that Luke was back. I remembered I was watching TV while waiting for him and apparently I slept off on the couch. "Hi babe, why are you sleeping on the couch", he asked with a look of concern. "I was waiting for you and I kinda slept off", I replied. "So sorry babe, let me guess that you haven't eaten also" he asked. I gave him a tongue out reply. "Babe, you really didn't have to wait, I am really sorry, come on, let's go and eat". He went to freshen up while I went to reheat the food.

After eating, we laid down on the bed and was just talking about our day. I told him about Gina's visit and I also told him about my plans to get a job. He told me he didn't want me doing anything stressful, and that he could afford to take care of my needs. I told him I didn't want to just be sitting at home all day, it was making me lazy and I wasn't too thrilled about the idea of just staying home and waiting for him everyday. He finally agreed and said he would help me to also look for vacancies.

Weekend came and Gina and I went shopping. We bought lots of things including things we didn't need. Gina is one hell of a shopaholic. After that we went to the spa to get special treatments. It was a fun-filled day and I got home feeling so tired. I have a job interview on Monday, I haven't told anyone yet, I wanted to get the good news first before sharing. Luke left for work at his normal time, my job interview was at 9am so he didn't even know I was leaving the house. Immediately he left, got ready and also left the house. The company was a small business firm and I was applying for the post of a secretary. There were lots of people there, it was a new company so there was lots of vacancies. After maybe three hours, it got to my turn, I did my interview and I was told they will get back to me by tomorrow. I was a little positive about my chances tho. I decided to go to Gina's place since I had nothing to do at home.

I stopped at the supermarket to get chocolate and ice cream. We both crave this all the time. I got to the house and knocked, there was no reply. Maybe she stepped out, I checked the spot where we kept our spare key and it was there. I decided to go in and then call her to tell her I was in the house. As I stepped into the Sitting room, I heard low whispers coming from the room, I assumed she was home and maybe her new boyfriend was also around. I was about to knock on the room door to announce my arrival when I heard moaning. Oh oh...wrong timing. I was about to leave but the next sentence I heard made me froze on the spot. "Harder Luke... just the way I like it". Maybe his name is also Luke right. But the next voice i heard confirmed my worst fear. "I am gonna make you scream my name so loud". No no no... I am hallucinating, this can't be happening. Luke is at work besides they both hate each other and most importantly they wouldn't hurt me like that. Unconsciously I pushed the door opened and I saw my worst nightmare happening in reality. Gina saw me first and her eyes widened with fear and guilt. She pushed Luke away and that was when he noticed my presence. I was too numb with pain to say anything. These two were people I loved with all my hearts, people I could sacrifice my life for and they betrayed me without thinking twice. They were both trying to cover themselves while Luke rushed to me trying to explain "babe its not what it looks like". He must think I am stupid to believe that lie. "How long" I managed to ask. "Jo, please let..." "I said how long", I screamed interrupting Gina. They both flinched at the sound of my voice and then I heard a little whisper of 2 months. "It started when you travelled to London to see William..." I wasn't in the mood to listen to those explanations. "Both of you are the worst people on earth, how could you do this to me, I have never done anything bad to you", I screamed in anger. "Please forgive me" they both said in sync. "We are over, " I turned to Luke and said then to Gina "forget you have a friend called Johanna". With that, I ran to the Sitting room, picked my bag and ran out. I heard them pleading and begging me to wait but I refused to listen. I kept running and running until my legs couldn't take it anymore. I hired a cab to Luke house, I hurriedly packed my things and left. Thank God he didn't come home to meet me. I went to an hotel to stay for the meantime. My phone has been ringing continuously, both calls and messages from the cheating duo but I didn't want to talk to any of them.

After crying and crying, I decided to take a walk to clear my head. I walked a little distance from the hotel and just sat under a tree reminiscing about the past. Trying to think of why both of them will do this to me. I thought Luke and I were happy together and I thought that Gina valued our friendship. It was all too painful. I called my brother and he didn't pick. The weather was changing and I decided to head back to the hotel.

As I was walking, my phone was ringing and I thought it was my brother calling back but it was Luke, I kept the phone back in my bag. The next thing I heard was tyres screeching and me landing on the floor out of shock. "Hey you, why can't you watch where you were going to", the driver of the vehicle stepped out and screamed out me. Wait, what, this wasn't my fault. "What, are you blind? I was walking at the side of the road", I said in my defence. "Whatever, just watch where you are going to next time" then he stepped into the car and drove off. What a jerk, I thought.
