Chapter 6 Escape (2)

Kyng Wu, Darren's childhood friend, was bandaging the wound on his head. As he was wrapping the bandage around the wound, he said, "Aren't you usually so strong and arrogant? How could you get smashed on the head with a table lamp? If I tell people about it, you're going to be the talk of the town."

Darren shot Kyng a furious glare, so Kyng stopped joking around at once.

"But I'm kind of curious about the woman that hit you," Kyng continued.

In truth, he admired the woman so much since she actually dared to hit Darren.

When they were still kids, Kyng was always the one who got beaten up every time he and Darren fought, whether it was in a one-on-one fight or in a group. The woman had actually avenged him.

"I dare you to say that again." Kyng could tell that Darren was giving him a warning.

In the end, Kyng decided not to say anything about it anymore. Darren seemed to be in a really bad mood today. So, poking fun at him right now would be no good.

Mason finally arrived and walked in. He didn't dare to take a seat when he talked to Darren. "Mr. Leng, what can I do for you?"

"I want all the information you have about the woman who was with me last night," Darren arrogantly said, as though he was giving him an order.

"Okay, I'll get it right away."

Mason remembered that the woman was the blind date he had set up for Marcus. And he had her information back in his office.

Darren looked through Eliana's files. In the photo, Eliana was wearing heavy makeup, which was totally different from the simple and pure Alena. He just couldn't understand why he mistook her for Alena last night. It was an insult to Alena.

Mason couldn't help but notice that Darren didn't look good, but for the sake of the MH Club, he plucked up the courage to ask him, "Mr. Leng, were you satisfied with the woman I recommended last night? Are you interested in investing in our club?"

"I'll give you two days. If you can find that woman in two days, I will invest one hundred million dollars in your club."

At that moment, Mason wondered if he just misheard it.

"Can you do it?" Darren asked again.

"Yes, yes, I will do everything I can to find that woman. I will definitely bring her to you in two days."

Mason patted his chest and gave Darren his word. There was no way he would blow this chance knowing that a hundred million was almost within reach. For that reason, he would stop at nothing just to find that woman.

Eliana went back with a heavy heart. The designer clothes she had rented got damaged, so she had to pay for them. As a result, all her efforts in that month ended up being in vain.

The second she opened the door, she saw a little girl sleeping soundly on the sofa.

Abby was such an adorable five-year-old girl.

As soon as she heard the door open, Abby quickly opened her eyes. When she saw Eliana, she jumped for joy and said, "You're finally back!"

Eliana wrapped her arms around the little girl and kissed her on the cheek. "Abby, why were you sleeping on the sofa? Why didn't you sleep in your room?"

"I wanted to wait for you," Abby said, rubbing her sleepy eyes. From the dark circles under her eyes, it was plain to see that she had stayed up late.

"I asked Abby to go sleep in her room, but she insisted on waiting for you here. That's why she ended up falling asleep on the sofa," Sally said as she walked out of the bathroom, fresh from the shower.

Eliana was deeply touched by this. Although Abby was only five years old, she was already very thoughtful. "Don't do this again, okay? You need to have a good night's rest since you have to go to school tomorrow."

"Eliana, why did you get back home so late? I tried calling you a couple of times but you didn't answer. I was so worried about you," Sally asked.

"Don't worry. I'm fine." Eliana tried her best to make it seem like everything was all right.

Sally asked, "How did it go? How much did you earn?"

"Nothing. He went out, so I didn't get to see him." Eliana didn't want Sally to find out what happened, nor did she want her to worry about her.
