Chapter 5 Escape (Part One)

'Oh, my God! Did I hit him too hard? I wasn't trying to kill him. If the police arrests me, they'll find out what I did before. Am I going to jail?'

Panicking at this point, Eliana grabbed Darren's hand. Thank goodness, he still had a pulse. She was so close to freaking out just now.

Just as she was about to open the door and leave, she heard two men talking outside. Although she couldn't really hear what they were talking about, they were probably guarding the door. Meaning to say, if she were to leave at this moment, she would definitely get caught.

Tightly biting her lower lip, Eliana thought, 'I have to go back. I've been gone for a whole night, and Abby and Sally are going to worry about me.'

After looking around the room for a while to see if there was anything she could use to escape, she managed to find a few sheets inside a cabinet. She tied the sheets together to form a makeshift rope.

When Eliana looked outside the window, she found out that she was on the fifth floor. She had gone to some Kung Fu lessons back in high school, so she should be able to get herself down from here. In any case, it was dark outside, so she probably wouldn't be seen.

She tied the makeshift rope to the windowsill and slowly made her way down. Unfortunately for her, the rope didn't reach all the way to the ground and was still a few feet above the ground. Gritting her teeth, she had no choice but to jump down. It was a good thing that she had enough strength to endure it, and she only felt a little pain in her feet when she jumped down from such a height. If it were an ordinary person, their legs would have been broken.

By the time Darren woke up, it was already noon. He stood up and rubbed his heavy head and felt such a headache. Even now, he was still so lightheaded. It should hardly be surprising however, since he had too much to drink yesterday.

All of a sudden, Darren noticed that his hand was covered with blood. With his eyes wide open in surprise, he ran to the bathroom, looked at the mirror and saw an awful lot of blood on his head. Needless to say, he was completely taken aback.

He remembered seeing Alena the night before, and he also saw the heart-shaped mark on her body caused by an allergy. Alena couldn't possibly be alive, so there was no one else but that woman who could've done this to him.

Darren quickly straightened himself up. Moments later, he noticed the makeshift rope formed with bed sheets tied to the window. He walked closer towards it and was a bit shocked. This was the fifth floor. Did that woman leave this room like this?

He had practiced karate, so it would be quite easy for him to leave here. But, how could a weak woman pull it off? Or did she end up getting injured? He couldn't help worrying about her. This woman was even as stubborn as Alena.

When Saul came in and saw Darren's head all covered with blood, he was startled. It had only been one night since he last saw him. How could he get injured in such a short time?

Fuming with anger, he kicked the two bodyguards at the door and yelled at them, "Why didn't you protect Mr. Leng? How did he get hurt?"

The two bodyguards had an aggrieved look on their faces. "Saul, didn't you say that for as long as we didn't hear any loud noise coming from inside, we didn't need to pay attention to it?"

At that moment, Saul really wanted to slap himself in the face. How on earth could he have known that Darren would get injured? After all, he had thought that Darren was just going to have a good time with that woman.

"Who is that woman?" Darren asked anxiously, and he had never been as restless as he was right now.

Whether she was Alena or not, he really wanted to see her.

"Mr. Sun was the one who arranged it."

"Go and ask him to come over."

"Okay, I'll tell him right away."

Mason was ecstatic when he heard that Darren wanted to see him. He assumed that Darren must have been very satisfied with that woman and would like to invest more in his club.

After putting on a brand-new suit, Darren turned back into his usual self, cold and ruthless.
