Chapter 8 Does It Feel Wrong To Do This With Me

There was a funny quirk in Reid's mouth as he raised an eyebrow and said, "I might need to see how sincere Miss Yan is."

"What are you trying to say?" Aria couldn't tell if Reid was being serious or if he was just poking fun at her with his remark.

"As long as we don't have anything to do with each other in the future, I have no problem believing you." Reid's request, however, was simply unreasonable.

Aria cast a glance at him and sat on the sofa. "I'm afraid to say that you will be disappointed. I can't promise you that. After all, the order of our marriage came from our elders, didn't it?"

Reid's eyebrows furrowed with concern as he strode towards her. "Miss Yan, you have lived abroad and have received foreign education. I didn't think someone like you would take to such old-fashioned customs."

"What does any of that have to do with whether we get married or not?"

Aria's mind was made up. She was pushing for a marriage, not because of love, but only because she needed his help to stop the Yan Group from going bankrupt. Love was the last thing Aria wanted to talk to him about.

"Of course it does!" Reid leaned over and asked, "Or have you somehow fallen in love with me, Miss Yan?"

"Would that surprise you? Mr. Reid, you are a handsome man. I'm sure there are many women who would fall in love with you. Even if they weren't aware of your status, they would still be lining up to sleep with you. I, on the other hand, am just an ordinary woman. Would it be completely unexpected for someone like me to fall for you?"

This time, Aria didn't step back. Instead, she looked right into Reid's deep black eyes.

Reid gently grabbed her by the shoulders and said, "Then I suppose I don't need to prove to you just how irresistible I really am."

As soon as he finished speaking, he leaned in and kissed her lips.

Aria's eyes widened with shock as she tried to pull away from his lips, but unfortunately, she failed to get rid of him.

Completely disregarding her futile struggle, Reid picked her up into his arms and took her towards the big bed in the room. Then he playfully threw her on the bed and started to undo the buttons of her dress. "Reid! Have you lost your mind? Let go of me!"

"Didn't you say that you loved me? You just said that you were in love with me. Does it feel wrong to do this with me?" Suddenly, Reid caught tears in her eyes.

Almost immediately, his heart softened and he released her.

Taking the opportunity to push him away, Aria pulled her clothes up and said, "You should leave now!"

Reid stood up and said, "Aria, if you really want to marry me, you should be mentally prepared. It won't be easy to be my wife."

Reid turned around and walked out of the room after he said that.

However, he didn't leave the resort, instead he stayed in the villa just next to Aria's.

Aria was about to leave the resort at once, but she changed her mind when she received a call from her grandfather.

As soon as she turned on the TV, she saw Milton and Roxanne announcing their marriage in front of the reporters. After all these years, they were finally getting married.

Just a week ago, Milton had resigned from his position as the CEO of the Yan Group and joined the LX Group. It had only been a week, but it seemed as though he couldn't wait to marry that woman.

Aria decided to go out for a walk by herself, hoping to get her mind off the things that were troubling her. The realization finally came to her that her grandfather asked her to stay at the villa for a few more days because he didn't want her to attend the wedding.

Since they were both staying at the same resort, Aria wasn't surprised to run into Reid.

With a beautiful woman on each arm, Reid was comfortably sitting at the side of a swimming pool. Needless to say, the women were both wearing bikinis. If Aria had known that she would run into him here, she would have stayed back in her room.

Reid noticed that Aria was wearing a black one-piece swimsuit. Although it covered her slender waist, people had a hard time looking away from her.

"Miss Yan, did you follow me here too?" Reid walked up to her, revealing his firm, chiseled chest to her.

"Mr. Reid, are you really that narcissistic?" Aria looked away as her face tinged with a faint blush. "This is a public place. Did you think this was one of your private pools where only you and your friends can go to?"

Reid shrugged his shoulders at her and said nothing.

In fact, Aria just wanted some time to herself in the pool so she could stop thinking about Milton.

All the while, Reid watched Aria in silence. As he lost count of the times she had swum back and forth in the water, he wondered, 'Is this woman crazy?'
