Chapter 4 I Don't Know You (Part Two)

"Shut up!" Rory snapped at Sasha and glanced at her coldly.

His voice was too cold and intimidating that Sasha shut up in panic instantly.

But seeing that he was really angry, she said immediately, "Rory, it's really her fault. She's making trouble. You know what, she wants to seduce you because she's after your money. I'm just teaching her a lesson. Besides, her script is so below par. No director nor scriptwriter would want to shoot it. No one will even invest in it."

There was a sudden trace of sternness in Rory's eyes. But when he looked at Perrin, his eyes became a little gentle.

Perrin's long hair that was previously rolled up into a beautiful bun now scattered on her rosy cheeks. It made her look more delicate and pitiful.

Rory's thin lips moved as he said, "Who told you that no one would shoot her script? Someone is shooting her script now."

"Who?" Sasha asked confusedly. Her eyes widened in shock.

"Me!" Rory declared firmly.

Perrin was stunned. Even Ray Cheng, who followed him, was also dumbfounded.

Rory turned to look at Perrin and said indifferently, "Come to my office and bring the script tomorrow. If everything goes well, we can begin shooting immediately."

When Sasha recovered from the shock, she said, "Rory, please don't shoot this bitch's script. It's not worth it."

"I'm not asking for your advice. My decision is final." Rory snapped, "It's none of your business, after all."

Sasha stomped her feet in rage. Since Rory was not even sparing her a glance, she turned around and ran away while sobbing.

Rory glanced at Perrin indifferently again before he turned around and left. He still had a lot of work to do back in the cafe.

Stunned, Perrin was not able to react. She was trying to absorb everything he had said just now. Did he really mean it?

She was still lost in thought when Rory's assistant came over and handed her a business card. He said, "Miss. Perrin, you can come directly to Mr. Rory's office tomorrow. Please don't forget to bring your script."

Perrin took the business card subconsciously and looked at it. When she saw the name "Rory An" on it, mixed emotions surged up in her heart.

The next morning, Perrin went to Rory's office that was written on the business card.

She couldn't help smiling brightly when she thought that her mother's painstaking efforts would finally pay off. She couldn't contain the happiness in her heart.

Perrin walked briskly to the elevator. She didn't expect to suddenly bump into a broad shoulder.

She bowed and hurriedly apologized, "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."

But when she raised her head, she saw the faint smile in Rory's eyes.

He gently pushed her away and smiled. His dark eyes were full of inexpressible depth.

Perrin subconsciously blushed. She looked at him with gratitude and said, "I haven't thanked you yet for yesterday."

"Remember, you owns me two favors now," Rory replied in a cold tone. He then motioned Perrin to follow him.

Perrin stood still for a long time, watching his receding back. She was lost in thought again.

It took a while before she reacted and trotted to catch up with him.

Rory personally made all the necessary arrangements for Perrin's script to be shot immediately.

From then on, Perrin got busy with all kinds of work every day.

Things went well at first. But before the filming started, the scriptwriter informed Perrin, "Miss Perrin, we have some problems with the script. I'm afraid we need to delete and modify a lot of them now. Please be prepared for it."

"What? Why do you need to modify it?" she asked confusedly.

The scriptwriter replied helplessly, "I don't know. I just received the instruction from the higher-ups, so I must do it. I know how much this script means to you, and I don't want you to be bullied. That's why I gave you the heads-up."

Perrin wondered who could have given such an instruction.

All of a sudden, Sasha came to her mind.

Although Sasha couldn't control Rory directly, she could use his subordinates easily to make trouble for Perrin.

'What should I do?' Perrin asked herself inwardly.

She couldn't possibly find Sasha and confront her. And even if she did, it still wouldn't solve the problem.

Her only hope was Rory.

Left with no choice, she dialed Rory's number. She didn't see him recently because he had some businesses to deal with outside the city.

However, Rory didn't answer the phone.

Perrin didn't know that Rory was always busy with big projects, and he didn't have time to answer his phone.

Since she couldn't contact Rory, she made a prompt decision and decided to look for him in another city.

Getting out of the taxi, Perrin looked up at the magnificent hotel in front of her. A trace of worry was written all over her face.

Because she didn't want her mother's script to be altered, she found a way to know Rory's whereabouts. When she found out where he was currently staying, she took the risk of going across the city to personally see him. But now that she was already outside his hotel, she suddenly felt scared.

After thinking for a while, she plucked up her courage and walked towards the entrance of the hotel. However, she was stopped by the security guard at once. "Miss, may I see your hotel card, please."

Securities were strict in high-end hotels. Since it was already late at night, no one was allowed to enter except for their guests.

"I'm not a guest here. I just need to see someone inside."

"I'm sorry, Miss, but I can't let you in. Just inform your friend that you are waiting here outside."

She had no choice but to call Rory again. However, he wasn't answering still. And since she had come all the way here, all she could do was wait for him outside of the hotel.

Unexpectedly, the weather became worse. All of a sudden, heavy rain fell along with a gust of wind.

The outside of the hotel had no roof, so Perrin could only get drenched in the rain. She was freezing cold, but she was still unwilling to leave. She had to wait until Rory saw her.

While squatting beside the hotel, she had fallen asleep and woken up several times under the rain. Staying up the whole night was not easy for her.

The ray of sunlight early that morning washed away the haze in the sky. But since it had just rained, the wind was cold and fresh.

"Miss Perrin?"

Perrin raised her head as a man's figure blocked the sunlight in front of her.

"Our CEO wants to see you."
