Chapter 2 I Will Never Marry You (Part Two)

Perrin thought through clenched teeth, 'Lucas, you did it again!'

Lucas had humiliated her so many times, but he didn't seem to have any satisfaction.

This time, he even wanted to embarrass her in front of so many people.

She couldn't tolerate this anymore.

Perrin looked around the crowd coldly. Finally, her eyes were fixed on a specific person. With a smile, she walked down the stage without looking at Lucas. Under everyone's watchful eyes, she walked towards the cold man.

A sweet smile appeared on her beautiful face as she held Rory's arm and said, "Honey, I think they all misunderstand me just now. What do you think we should do?"

She looked so calm, but deep inside her, she was scared to death. If Rory didn't cooperate, she would humiliate herself more than Lucas did.

Before Rory could react, Lucas, who was still on the stage, shouted angrily, "Perrin, what is the meaning of this?"

Never did he thought that Perrin was capable of embarrassing him.

"I'm pregnant, and he is the father." This time, she was ready to risk everything just to stop Lucas from humiliating her, especially that she was facing so many people.

"Let's go." Finally, Rory opened his mouth. His voice was so pleasing to the ear, but with a trace of coldness. The rumors about him were true. He always looked indifferent.

A man like him would not waste his time explaining to others.

So without further ado, he took Perrin's hand and walked out of the banquet hall.

Perrin, who had been nervous all the time, finally heaved a sigh of relief. She held his arm more tightly as they walked out of the hall sweetly.

Everyone's surprised gaze followed them. But Lucas couldn't just look at them walking away. He jumped off the stage and chased them to the lobby of the hotel.

"Perrin Xia, stop!" he growled angrily.

All the while, he thought that his plan to embarrass her in front of the crowd would be successful. But he was mistaken. He didn't expect that she could do something to counter him. He indeed underestimated her ability.

Perrin turned a deaf ear to him and continued to walk towards the car with Rory. Actually, she planned to explain everything to Rory as soon as they came out, and she would just take a taxi home. However, she didn't expect that Lucas would chase after her. Now, she had no choice but to go with Rory to his car.

"Perrin, you are such a bitch! How dare you seduce another man while you are engaged to me! You don't deserve to be the daughter-in-law of the Gu family." Lucas rushed over and grabbed her arm.

"Let go of me." Perrin struggled, but her efforts were in vain.

Her inflamed eyes glared at Lucas. The calmness on her delicate face had already vanished. She said furiously, "Don't you still realize what you've done? Lucas, you don't care about this engagement at all. I am your fiancee, but you keep on humiliating me in public."

This time, her heart had become completely cold. She hated Lucas for treating her unjustly all the while.

"I don't care whatever you say. You have to go with me now," Lucas said firmly.

"No way," Perrin refused unhesitatingly.

"Perrin, I didn't expect you to be so cunning. You are leaving me now because you've hooked up with a powerful man, right?" The truth was, Lucas liked Perrin. But he was dissatisfied with the marriage arranged by their families. So, he tried to resist by humiliating her in public all the time.

But the humiliations that Perrin suffered from him had broken her heart countless times already. It was difficult for her to forgive him anymore. "Lucas, I know that you hate this engagement from the very start. So, let's just cancel it. You don't have to humiliate me again and again. From now on, you don't have to see me. We don't need to embarrass ourselves in public like this again in the future."

Lucas was surprised to hear her words.

He admitted that he disliked their arranged marriage. But since he really liked her, he had never thought of canceling their engagement.

"Perrin, how dare you! You did not only cheat on me openly. Now, you even want to abandon our engagement?" he said annoyingly.

"This is what you have always wanted to happen, right?" Perrin asked, trying to hold back her tears.

"And now you're saying that I forced you to have an affair with another man? You bitch!" Lucas yelled angrily.

Perrin couldn't take it anymore, so her palm landed on Lucas' face all of a sudden. Lucas couldn't believe that she had slapped him just now.

"You hit me?" He got more enraged. Perrin didn't only embarrass him, she even hit him.

He stepped forward, grabbed her shoulders, and was about to kiss her forcefully.

"Help!" Perrin screamed.

"Let her go!" Rory, who had been standing aside and watching them, said coldly.

It was only then that Lucas spared him a glance.

Thinking that he was the reason why Perrin became valiant all of a sudden, Lucas let go of her and walked towards Rory. He then threw a punch at him without any words.

But Rory didn't waver at all. In the end, it was Lucas who got beaten and fell to the ground.

Rory squatted down and said coldly, "Bullying a woman? What kind of man do you think you are?"

He then stood up and stretched out his hand to Perrin.

She took his hand. Sadness flashed across her eyes upon thinking of all that Lucas did to her, but it quickly dissipated.

She didn't expect that letting go of a relationship was this easy.

With a faint smile on her face, she looked down at Lucas and said, "Rory drives a Rolls-Royce while you drive a BMW. He is the head of the four young masters in the capital. Who do you think you are compared to him?"

It was too embarrassing for a man to hear such words from a woman. Anyone who heard it would definitely pity Lucas.

After taking a last look at Lucas, Perrin quietly got in Rory's car.

Lucas was left alone, watching the car driving farther and farther away. If only he could smash that Rolls-Royce into pieces. He almost couldn't believe that Perrin would be lured by just a luxury car.

Inside the car, Perrin and Rory were quiet for a while. Perrin looked at the rearview mirror, but Lucas couldn't be seen anymore. She wanted to turn to her side, but she couldn't dare to look at the man next to her. After hesitating for a while, she finally managed to speak up, "Mr. Rory, thank you so much for helping me tonight. I know I have troubled you a lot. You can now drop me here."

"That's all?" Rory said and smiled coldly. Actually, he didn't intend to drop her off anywhere.

"I..." Perrin was at a loss for words. She didn't know what else to say, so she just uttered sincerely, "I'm really thankful for your help. And I hope I can repay you someday. Thank you once again."

She couldn't help stealing a glance at him. He was like a beautiful god in the night with an irresistible dignity all over his body.

"Then, how do you think you can repay me?" He was focused on driving, so he asked the question without looking at her. But his cold voice made Perrin shiver.
