Chapter 2 Get Off Me First

Seeing that Faye didn't move, Matthew's eyes widened in panic. He rushed out of the elevator and sent her to the hospital.

During the doctor's examination, Matthew went out to answer a phone call.

However, when he returned, she was gone.

He sneered. "Interesting!"

At the same time, Faye, who was running at the other side of the road, suddenly sneezed.

She was running so fast that she couldn't even catch her breath. She sped through the pedestrian lanes and dodged by different people. Faye took out her phone and dialed a number. A cry sounded from the other end of the line. "Mom, where are you? I miss you."

His soft voice made her heart ache. She rubbed her sore ankles as she put on her heels back on her feet. "Tom, Mommy will come back to sleep with you tonight, okay? You have to listen to Lucy and take your medicine first," she said softly.

After hanging up the phone, Faye went to the supermarket to buy some baby products and waited at the bus stop.

When Faye saw Matthew's car stop in front of her, her eyes widened in surprise.

Matthew rolled down his window and smiled at her. "Miss Qiao, what a surprise."

She wished that the earth would just open and swallow her up.

"Mr. Lu, what a coincidence indeed," she said.

However, Matthew didn't intend to let her go. Glancing at the milk powder and a pack of diapers she was holding, he gazed at her meaningfully. "You're truly very dedicated, Miss Qiao. Does your trial marriage partner have a child?"

"Yes, I have to satisfy my customers," Faye answered perfunctorily.

Matthew motioned the seat beside him.

"Get in the car. I'll drive you there." Faye wanted to refuse him. In fact, if she could, she would've already sprinted out of here, but she knew for a fact that she couldn't get away from him that easily.

Plus, she suspected that the man was stalking her. In such a big city, it was impossible for them to bump into each other twice in one day.

After hesitating for a while, she got in the car. Matthew drove for around a few minutes till they reached a community. She had asked him to park the car at the gate.

However, he wasn't planning on letting her go that easily. He cocked up an eyebrow. "Wouldn't it be polite if you invited me upstairs?"

"This is my trial marriage partner's place. It wouldn't be convenient," she insisted, reaching out to open the door.

Before she could, Matthew locked the door, turned off the engine, and dimmed the lights.

Their surroundings turned pitch black,

and she screamed in horror. Matthew snorted, turning on the light and staring at her coldly.

Although she was incredibly beautiful, he knew that she was only holding it up for the image.

Her smile was fake. Her elegance was fake. Everything about her screamed fake.

Only her panic was true now. She looked around with fear etched into her eyes. She didn't dare look at him.

With a playful look in his eyes, Matthew placed her between his chest and the car door. Seeing her shrink under his gaze, he felt prideful.

"Are you afraid, Miss Qiao?"

"Mr. Lu, if you want to ask me out then you can download the app. I'm free tomorrow," she stuttered out. She tried to smile, but it quickly faltered.

Matthew's cold finger slid down her ears, which made her tremble even worse.

All of a sudden, he found himself drawing back. He didn't want to make fun of her that much.

Besides, Matthew wouldn't have come here if it wasn't for his friend plus the fact that he wanted to see just what she was capable of.

"Miss Qiao, it's said that whenever you make a move, men would find themselves falling at your feet. What's wrong with you today?"

Rolling her eyes, Faye finally relaxed, realizing that he was only making fun of her.

"The trial marriage is nothing but a game. Please don't take it seriously." Except for his reputation, she had no idea about him.

"Do behave yourself." Without another word, he asked her to get out of the car.

Instead, Faye furrowed her eyebrows in confusion. "Why did you spy on me?"

"My friend's in love with you and wants to get married," he replied.

"Richard?" It immediately dawned on Faye that the two men had set her up to embarrass her.

"You're actually not that stupid," he commented.

Under the dim light, Faye looked at Matthew again.

In terms of appearance, Matthew was incomparably handsome. In terms of temperament, since Matthew was born in a famous family, his noble temperament was unparalleled. Only a few people could hold the same amount of power as the Lu Group.

A man like him could crush her to death with just a finger.

Anyway, it was better to die bravely.

Faye quickly unfastened her seatbelt. Without another thought, she quickly jumped on Matthew and kissed him right on the lips, leaving a bite.

"Click!" If there was something she was good at, it was taking selfies. Even if she didn't look at the camera, she could take everything in perfect frame.

"Faye Qiao!" Matthew gritted his teeth once she finally withdraw herself.

She smiled. "You can do whatever you want to ban me. After all, your reputation is much more important than mine."

"Are you threatening me?" They were already a few centimeters away.

"I wouldn't dare. I just hope that you'd let me go. Besides, I didn't do anything harmful plus I didn't hurt your friend. He tricked you."

He held her down, not allowing her to move. "He said that if it wasn't for you, he wouldn't have married. He had been at home for three consecutive days."

"How do you want me to make it up to him then?"

"Get off me first." Matthew really wanted to strangle her.

Only then did she realize that they were in a very awkward position. Her face turned beet red. She raised her leg only for her back to hit the car horn. The sudden sound and their position indicated that the two of them were in a very intimate relationship.

The temperature in the car rose, and beads of sweat ran down his forehead. He stared at her like a predator stalking his prey.

It took her a long time to get back to her seat. When she was finally done, her eyes were bright with fear.

Matthew opened the door. "Apologize to Richard in your live stream tomorrow."

"Sure." She shrugged.

"And resign the spokesperson of the TMC App and quit it for good."

Upon hearing his next words, her eyes widened. "That's my job!"

Matthew sneered. "Dating's your job?"

It was not the first time that she'd been called or implicated as a tramp, but she didn't care. She'd do anything for Tom.

"If there's nothing else, then I'll go back first. Take care, Mr. Lu. Hopefully, we don't get to meet again." She got off the car and slammed the door of Matthew's car.
