"Alpha Damien, I am sorry, but you are still in my pack, in case you have forgotten, and we are not discussing pack matters or business negotiations-we are talking about my daughter! My princess!" Alpha Felix shouted at the top of his voice, trying to hold his anger back, though it clearly wasn't working.
"Suit yourself, but your daughter leaves with me," Damien declared with finality, as though he owned the world. In the next moment, he grabbed Ellen's hand and turned towards the entrance, ready to leave.
"Alpha Damien! You are going nowhere with my daughter!" Alpha Felix roared in anger, and almost immediately, his guards, sensing the tension, surrounded the hallway.
Alpha Felix forcefully pulled Ellen's hand away from Damien and quickly took her out of the scene.
How can a small pack like the Night Walker Pack belittle my presence in this manner? Damien thought to himself, his eyes scanning the guards who now stood around him, some even pointing well-shaped sticks in his direction.
"You can leave now, we have something important to discuss. Go, go, go... your time is up," Damien said to the guards with a bright smile that didn't reach his eyes.
One of the guards quickly mind-linked Alpha Felix, who instructed them to let Damien remain.
"Everyone, listen up. I want ten of you stationed at the Alpha's door, five at his daughter's door, and the rest should surround the entire Alpha mansion," one of the guards ordered authoritatively, and they all bowed slightly before dispersing to their respective posts.
Damien felt belittled once again by their actions, but he waved it off and began walking towards the room where Felix had taken Ellen. He couldn't miss this opportunity. He had to have his mate. He knew he was lucky to be given a second chance.
A smile crept onto his lips as he knocked on the door. It didn't open at the first knock, but on the third, it finally did. He glanced at his knuckles, noticing they had turned red from the force of his knocking, and he licked his lips lightly, trying to calm himself.
"Alpha Damien, please leave my pack the same way you came. My daughter already has a mate, and you know she cannot be mated to two different people at the same time," Alpha Felix said, his voice tight with anger as he attempted to shut the door, but Damien stopped it with his hand.
"What do you mean she already has a mate?" Damien asked, his tone laced with jealousy and possessiveness. The thought that someone else had claimed his mate before him did not sit well with him at all.
As he held the door with force, the knob snapped off under the pressure. Without hesitation, he kicked the door hard, shattering it open.
...
"Alpha, there's a problem," Lambert whispered over the phone to Caine, glancing around cautiously to make sure no one was watching or listening.
"What do you mean by that? What kind of problem? Lambert, speak! Have you been caught?" Caine asked anxiously from the other end.
"No, it's none of that... it's about your mate," Lambert replied, still whispering.
"What about her?" Caine demanded, his anxiety rising even higher.
"Alpha Damien of the Blue Moon Pack is here... and he has also claimed her as his mate," Lambert finally revealed.
"What?! I will be there in a jiffy," Caine snapped before immediately ending the call and heading to his room to change.
He was burning with a level of anger he had never felt in his entire life. How could someone else claim his mate?
---
Ellen felt the overwhelming urge to claw Damien's face-scratch out his eyes, tear at his lips, even rip off his ears. The same man who had ordered her to be buried alive now stood before her, trying to take her back to his pack?
That pack... the very place that had been her end.
The pack that had brought her nothing but suffering and pain. Not a single day in the Blue Moon Pack had she ever known peace. None of her days there were worth remembering.
None.
Yet somehow, she had to take her revenge on Damien. He had to suffer. He had to feel the same pain she had endured. He had to pay for the lives of her parents... and her innocent brother.
He must pay.
....
"Alpha Caine of the Coinage Pack has already claimed her, and I approve of him, but you? Never will I let you have my daughter as your Luna... never!" Alpha Felix shouted, his voice filled with anger and frustration. He despised Damien with everything in him. To him, Damien acted like he ruled the entire world and owed no one respect.
"Hahahahaha... are you sure of what you just said? Alpha Felix, your daughter is my mate, and I have absolutely no reason to seek your permission before taking my Luna home. She is mine! My Luna, and no one else's!" Damien fired back, his voice deepening into a growl.
"And who said she is yours? Who made Annabel yours?" a voice echoed from above.
Caine's voice.
He descended from the stairs with a calm yet commanding presence, his eyes locked onto Damien as he approached them steadily.
