Chapter 4 IV

It's been two weeks since I started working at Moore's Enterprise and it's been hectic. I never expected the job to be this difficult but I understand. It's a prestigious company so I have to work very hard but my boss doesn't make it any easier.

"Can you get me through to Alex ?"

A beautiful lady that looked oddly familiar asked me. I didn't even know when she walked into my cabin.

"Sorry ma'am but Mr. Moore is in a meeting now. He'll be done in five minutes" I replied in a polite voice.

"I am his fiancee and you will get me through to him or else I'll have you fired" she barked at me and I flinched.

I felt a pang of jealousy. Even after the way Alex has been treating me, that night won't stop living rent free in my head and I'm starting to feel some type of way towards him.

"Ma'am interrupting the meeting will also get me fired so please just wait he'll be out soon"

Immediately after saying that, Alex rang me up.

"Send her to my office now"

"Mr.Moore will see you now" and she walked out right after giving me a smug smile and then it clicked she was Arielle Lorre a top model and she's the same girl who came out of Mr.Moore's office crying the other day. She's so pretty, why will he make her cry?

Arielle left an hour ago crying. I wonder what's up with them.

"Ms Clark, please report to my office immediately" Alex's voice sounds angry.

I walked to his office feeling nervous. I don't know what to expect since he sounded angry over the phone.

I knocked twice before stepping into the office.

Alex was leaning on his desk and was studying a file in his hand. He had a stress line on his forehead.

"Do you need an entourage to walk you down here ?" He said very coldly. Why is he always so cold, where's the sweet man from the night before.

"I'm sorry sir. I'll hasten up next time"

"That's by the way, have a seat" he said very calmly, his eyes darkened as they roam my body and I had to look away, ignoring his gaze.

I feel my heart hammering in my chest and heat creeping up to my neck.

"I'm letting you off early today, so take this file home, study it, and work on the presentation slides. We have a really busy week ahead of us"

"Okay sir. I'll be on my way then if that'll be all" I said standing up from my seat. He gave a brief nod and I made my way to the door.

"Wait"

I turn to face him. He was still leaning on his desk looking at me with something in his eyes.

"You've been really great Tasha and I appreciate all you do. I'd like to have dinner with you sometime if that's okay" he said so softly I could feel my heart swelling and a smile growing on my face.

"I'd like that. Thank you sir"

I opened the door and left the office.

"Faith, I ordered dinner, where are you?". I yelled while entering my apartment.

"Thank God you ordered dinner. I'm feeling too lazy to cook.

Why are you back so early?

Hope you didn't get fired ?" she said, eyeing me suspiciously.

"Well mom, my boss let me off work early. I have to prepare our presentation slides for an upcoming contract.

And yeah he was nice to me today, he even asked me to dinner" I said grinning.

"I think your boss likes you, he's just acting tough" Faith said, opening the takeout I brought.

"You know most times when I'm with him in the office I can't help but think about that night. Most times when I see him sitting in front of that desk, I would think about screwing him on that desk or something. I can't help my thoughts"

"Oh my goodness babes, what's gotten into you, you have got it bad. But I don't blame you, he's hot just be careful okay ?".

"I love you babes. I want to watch a movie before I start working so pick something while I freshen up". Faith nodded, chewing thoughtfully.

After the movie, I worked half the night on the presentation slides making sure they're perfect and I spent the other night thinking about Alex.

What if he does like me? But he has a pretty fiancee, I can't compare to her.

Why can't I get him off my mind even after the way he's been treating me.

I really need to get some sleep but the thought of Alex is making me toss around in my bed.

I really need to forget about that night and keep things professional.
