Chapter 3 3

Three days had passed now, since Reese and I had s*x earlier. I never thought that there would still be events that went on like in my previous life. I recalled all the things and events that had happened in my previous life. That was when Reese didn't show up at all in front of me for three days straight. I think, Reese was trying to avoid me, to be able to calm himself down. I also thought, that Reese might be avoiding me, so that he would not lose control of himself, with the feelings of anger, and also disappointment that he might still feel towards me now.

And I realized that was a bad thing.

And for many days in my current life, I continued to try very hard to become closer to Reese. To become someone who could possibly be even better, to be able to gain Reese's trust. Because after all, I only have Reese in this life. Someone like Reese, who is unquestioningly willing to give me a huge amount of trust, even though I myself have betrayed that trust many times. And I needed to make up for all the mistakes I had made in my previous life.

But the problem now was Reese who didn't even want to give me the slightest chance. As if, Reese himself has almost lost the trust he has for me now. And I don't want all the things I'm afraid of to happen later. I still need her as my companion. Or should I admit that I myself am getting used to Reese's presence around me? And Reese's absence here even makes me start to feel very empty.

Reese himself also didn't even want to talk to me directly. Even just to make small talk or look directly at me, he didn't want to at all. Reese seemed to disappear and hide because of his anger towards me three days ago. And it all feels very frustrating for me right now. Now, I have a plan to meet Reese in person. I don't want Reese to keep avoiding me like this.

My plan is to make food that Reese might like. This is the first time I've actually cooked food for someone else to enjoy, and that's for Reese. And I myself had never even thought about this before. Thinking back to how Reese who loved me so much from the beginning until now, I thought, it would be good to be able to make her believe in me once again. I don't want to keep disappointing Reese, and that karma could come back to me later. I don't want that to happen later.

"Luke, can you tell Reese that I really want to see him now? There's something I have to give him. It's very special. Please." I asked Luke, Luke Reign, and he was the Beta of The Eclipse Thunder Pack. He is the person Reese can trust the most in this pack.

Since I myself wasn't allowed to go out at all and was confined in this pack for three days, then I didn't have much choice, other than to always talk through Luke in order to meet with Reese. I myself had even tried to talk and send enough messages to Luke, so that he could convey them to Reese, to let me meet with Reese. But the result was still in vain. Reese still didn't want to see me for the past three days.

"Not this again, Eleanor Jane. I'm tired of all the fake attempts you've made these past three days. Alpha Reese himself must be tired too."

Luke, who was looking at his cell phone, immediately raised his head and looked at me with a look that looked very uneasy there. Apparently, Luke himself was even tired of all the effort I had put in over the past three days to meet Reese. Luke put his cell phone in his pocket and stood upright right in front of me now. I was holding the food box that I had prepared since this morning very tightly in both of my hands right now.

"Stop playing around and doing all the sneaky ways to escape from this pack, Eleanor Jane. You know very well that Alpha Reese will always be able to find you and capture you again to get into this pack again later. So you must remain calm now, and wait for the right time until the anger felt by Alpha Reese is over."

Luke is warning me again now. But I guess, I won't be at a loss for ways to make Reese trust me again. I will definitely be able to make Reese calm down and be willing to talk or meet with me after this. And I myself also can't just give up, just because I can't meet with Reese. "I won't run away from The Eclipse Thunder Pack anymore, Luke. I don't want to run away from Reese Carson either. I will remain in this pack, along with Reese. I will never go and leave Reese here alone. I promised, that I would change all the mistakes I made."

I immediately replied to Luke's warning words with a slow tone of voice. After that, I pointed the food box that was in the palm of my hand forward, and showed it to Luke, in order to make him believe what I said to him.

"I just wanted to deliver the food to Reese. I've been preparing and cooking this meal myself since this morning. This... this is my first time cooking for someone else. Before, I very rarely went into the kitchen, and cooked a meal like this. So I thought, it would be much better if Reese could eat it, and tell me about how the dishes I've cooked for her taste."

I paused for a moment, and let out my breath slowly. Withdrawing my hands, I continued to watch Luke's facial expression which looked very surprised by what I had just said to him now.

"So, can I see Reese now, Luke? Please... it's been almost three days, and I haven't seen Reese at all. I just want to try to fix everything that happened between me and Reese before if necessary. I want to be on good terms with Reese again."

"Wait a moment, Eleanor. Just a moment."

Luke immediately raised his right palm, as a sign to make me stop talking. I looked at Luke with a worried look. What if he still didn't want to let me meet Reese? What if he doesn't believe me now?

"Are you really not mistaken, Eleanor?"

"What does that mean?" I mumbled cluelessly after hearing his question.

"What... aren't you mistaking someone right now? I mean, you cooked a meal for Alpha Reese? That was the most ridiculous thing I've heard come out of that mouth of yours in quite some time. Ever since Alpha Reese came back into this pack with you, I could never believe all the things you said, and all the things you did. I'm much more likely to believe that you mixed the food you cooked with poison, and poisoned Alpha Reese to death. Instead of me believing that you only intended to deliver the food you cooked to Alpha Reese."

Luke even started to chuckle there now. Then after that, he looked at me with an incredulous look mixed with an unsure smile on his face right now. Luke rubbed his face with the palm of his right hand in a slow motion. Indicating that he still couldn't believe what he had heard from me earlier.

"After all, ever since you came into The Eclipse Thunder Pack, you've hated Alpha Reese so much, haven't you? Then now, all of a sudden your attitude has changed three hundred and sixty degrees. And that makes me even more convinced that you don't really want to fix things between you and Alpha Reese, Eleanor. I'm also pretty sure that this is all part of your new plan to catch Alpha Reese off guard, so you can use that to escape the pack again. You and your lover are both cunning."

I fell silent after listening to everything Luke said. If I were me in my previous life, then I would say that everything Luke said was true. But not when I'm living in my current life. I really don't want to run away from Reese or leave his pack anymore. I really don't want to go and leave Reese here. I will try very hard, to be able to become the woman that Reese wants me to be. I also don't want to disappoint Reese any further.

"I know that everything that has happened now will have a big impact on everyone's trust here. The things I did before will definitely make you unable to trust me. Just like Reese is feeling right now. Even if I explain everything to you now, you still won't be able to trust me, Luke. And I can totally understand that. Because, it's all my fault too. I've disappointed Reese, The Eclipse Thunder Pack, and troubled you and Reese too much with all the things I've done."

I sighed once more. As for Luke, he was silent and listening to my words there. Luke was even still looking right at me in disbelief.

"If you still can't trust me with my good intentions even a little bit now. Then, fine, it won't be a problem for me now. But I will still go see Reese, no matter what. Even if it has to be under your supervision. Then it won't be a problem for me, Luke. At least, I can meet Reese in person and can give him the food I've made."

Luke is getting more and more silent and seems to be in turmoil with himself right now. I knew he was making a difficult decision for himself there. I knew how well Luke worked under Reese's orders. Of course, Luke wouldn't dare to go against or even disappoint Reese in carrying out the task.

"Alright then."

Luke suddenly muttered, after sighing loudly there. I looked at Luke with an uncertain feeling.

"I'll contact Alpha Reese, and explain to him that you want to meet him in order to give him the food you cooked. But, remember one thing, Eleanor. If Alpha Reese refuses to meet with you, then you must not insist anymore. Enough of all Alpha Reese's disappointments because of you."

"Really? Thank you so much, Luke. Thank you so much... I promise, I will never let Alpha Reese down again. I really do promise."

I mumbled a quick reply to his words, and had a big smile on my lips by now. I felt that long-awaited relief in my heart instantly. After three days, I struggled so hard to meet and talk with Reese again, I was finally able to meet with Reese soon. However, I should be able to repair the relationship between me and Reese sooner or later now.

After that, Luke took his cell phone back from his pants pocket, and started tapping on the screen there. I anxiously hoped and prayed that Reese would pick up Luke's call, and also let me see him now. I looked at Luke's cell phone screen where the call was starting to connect. It instantly made me believe that Reese had received Luke's call.

"Eleanor!"

The call that sounded so loud instantly made me turn around and look right at the source of the sound now. As for Luke, he raised his head and looked forward, right in the same direction as me. There, right in the doorway of The Eclipse Thunder Pack, Asher Jack stood with a confidence that made me sick at once. I was sure that Fiona had let him in.

"This is a good time to get out of this pack, Eleanor! Hurry up, before Reese comes back into this pack and ruins all our escape plans now."

"Hey, how dare you get into this pack again?!" Luke reacted violently.

"You can't stop me from taking Eleanor away. I'm taking Eleanor away and away from this d*mn pack! She doesn't belong to Reese, she only belongs to me. And she will only stay and live with me." I could faintly hear Reese's voice from the direction of the phone call made through Luke's cell phone over there. I'm sure, if Reese had listened to everything.
