Chapter 4 I CAN'T BELIEVE IT

I felt ...

I felt a sharp pain in my bones, it was crackling, breaking and it kept going like that.

I rolled on the floor and howled.

It was like my intestines were twisted and struggling to be normal back.

It kept on going till I heard my clothes ripping apart.

And something soft was coming out of my body.

And I was not rolling on the floor again.

I could see white paws.

Paws...

Wait does that mean, I have finally awakened my wolf?

I howled loudly, jumping and turning around to see my body.

My ears could hear things from a distance away.

I could hear the innkeeper's voice.

"Damn it, those werewolves wouldn't listen, will they?" He sounded irritated.

Then another voice said, "OH, come on let them have their fun while they are still young."

I was excited my ears could hear things from a far distance, my ears were much clearer.

I could see the spider on the opposite wall.

I could feel the blood rushing in my body.

If it was Raphael was here, I would have laughed in his face and spat to him "Who's a wolf less loser,".

But then I would not accept him as my mate if he said he wanted me back.

I could be with people and not look down on myself anymore.

"Hey"

I wondered who was because I couldn't see anything.

"Hello, who's here? I asked the person.

"I am Kate, your wolf," Oh yeah, I remembered we could speak to our wolves and build strong connections with them.

"Hello Kate, I am Ella, it's nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too, why did it take so long for you to reach out to me?"

"Huh, I don't understand I just awakened now right," I had never heard Kate before.

"No, you awakened your wolf, when you were born but I was sealed," She said.

What's going on?

"But why?"

"Ella, I will explain to you when I have fully recovered,"

"Wait, Kate, answer me."

She didn't reply to me.

What did she mean?

She had better explain everything when she is fully recovered.

My heart kept racing back and forth wondering what she meant.

I kept pacing and wanted to go for a run.

I decided to go for a run because what Kate said was just too much for me.

I tried shifting back into my human self and it was difficult.

But I remembered one time when Anna just awakened her wolf in the backyard, Dad was guiding her.

"Close your eyes and relax, then imagine yourself in your human form," He told her, then she relaxed and did what he said.

Her wolf disappeared and her human form was back.

She was happy and she hugged him, she didn't forget to pull her tongue at me then.

I decided to try it.

I closed my eyes and tried to relax and calm my breathing.

"Relax Ella, everything is all right," I said to calm myself down.

I imagined myself and I could feel my furs going in and my bones crackling.

I opened my eyes and I saw that I was my human self back.

I jumped but I was naked.

I looked for any shirt and sweatpants in my bag.

I wore it and my shoes were a little damaged.

I could only work barefooted.

But it was already dark probably no one would notice me, right?

Yeah, they won't.

I walked out of my room, I stood outside and I locked it behind me.

The floor was just like Antarctica, it was cold and I was having goosebumps.

The hallway was reeking of alcohol and cheap 'sophisticated' perfume.

I changed my mind as I walked through the hallway.

I was going to meet the innkeeper at the counter downstairs.

If he had a spare slippers.

I headed downstairs and saw that he was writing on a book on the counter.

I approached him and he looked at me.

That's how we looked at each other for about 30 seconds.

Then he sighed, " What do you want kid?"

Thank God, he broke the staring contest.

"Sorry sir, I am being weird but do you have spare slippers or sandals," I prayed that he had and was willing to give me.

He raised his eyebrows and had a blank look on his face.

He shakes his head, was he saying no?

"I will return it when I get back, I want to get a spare since my shoes are damaged, Please." I looked at him with puppy eyes and pouted my lips and made sure my eyes looked a little watery.

He patted my head, and he was sympathizing with me. Wow, looks like puppy eyes do work.

I had seen Anna use this move on Dad, so many times whenever she wanted something.

What a sly bitch.

I shouldn't even think about them any more.

I pulled out my trance as the innkeeper was saying something.

"I am coming kid, I got spare sandals and it's new and you can have them," He told me.

I was shocked, was he giving me without me paying him or something?

To be sure...

"Sir, do you mean it?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Hmm, are you sure? I hope you are not going to increase the money I am paying here," I raised my eyebrows and scrutinized him.

He laughed.

"You are funny, but if you don't want it for free you can add a dollar to your inn fee," He suggested and I nodded.

"Thank you very much," I wore it and left delighted at the offer.

I went out of the inn, still troubled by what Kate said.

I rushed to a forest near a lake I found while scouting.

The forest had large trees and the air was just different.

It was giving that fantasy look and it was peaceful and beautiful.

The moon shone on the trees and grass.

The lake was beautiful during nighttime.

I went behind a tree to remove my clothes and sandals before shifting.

So that I wouldn't have to return naked and barefooted.

As I approached the lake, the trees appeared to lean in and threw long, menacing shadows on the earth.

I felt a shudder go down my spine as if someone was watching me.

But I still made my way to the lake.

I saw my wolf and my eyes widened in shock.

When I had a snap, I turned around to see someone, I meant a werewolf looking at me.

The werewolf was 5 times bigger than my wolf, and his wolf was black and it shone brightly.

He looked at me, and I felt uneasy around him, but I ran to where my clothes were took them and zoomed off.

He didn't chase me but he just looked surprised.

Something about him gave me chills and I didn't like it.

I ran and when I felt the coast was clear, I wore my clothes and sandals and ran back to the inn.

My heart was racing, and it continuously hit my rib cage.

I placed my hands on my chest.

My head could not get off the strong pull I felt towards the black wolf and why he had looked at me like that.

What was that about?

Why was he looking at me like that?

Is it because of my wolf?

What should I do? I mean I was also surprised when I saw my reflection in the lake.

My wolf was white but I had two different eye colors.

One was blue and the other was gold.

Was I special?

Then it made sense if Kate was sealed that means I have to be careful when shifting in places I don't feel safe.
